Started a new thread on the off chance () that something funny might happen in my street later. Maybe around 10pm...

Diagram below for the handful of people in the country that haven't printed it off yet...

We need to find out who Strange Cars are...

The Strange Car that is taking up 2 spaces outside our house is still there. I think Batshit has a sister somewhere round my way.

I contemplated writing "cunt" on its bonnet with my finger, just for the crack, but it seemed a bit childish when the car's presence isn't really bothering me. And it looks a bit clean for that. And if the "cunt" was clear enough to be legible, the whole street would know it was me or DP, as we're the only sweary ones at this end of the road.

Mind you, I did overhear Mrs Big Pants tell me Mr B-P that he's "a fucking moron" once. I was hanging out the washing at the time and their windows were open. I thought "Hear hear" to myself, came indoors and found DP pissing himself laughing.

The words "hear hear" had apparently slipped out of my mouth somehow and were clearly audible.

OP, would you ask Mrs Batshit if she has a sister who drives a metallic beige Honda and is living in, or visiting Sussex?

TeetotalKoala · 31/01/2020 21:13

I'm so very invested in this thread. I live on a street with on street parking only. Never have any dramas. My DH and I just bitch quietly to each other about NDN shocking parking (3 cars and they all hail from the 'three feet from the kerb and at an angle should do it' school. Makes parallel parking between them interesting.

I was on the receiving end of parking rage over the summer. Visiting my dad for a few days, I parked on the public road outside his house. Massive, wide road (considerably wider than a usual one). Not in anyone's way, not blocking anyone. He had a drive that he and my stepmum park on. His neighbour opposite has a massive drive. Two sets of gates so that you can have an in side and an out side. But he likes to park on the road with his 4 cars and a van (all of which would fit with room to spare). Especially after he's power washed it. On the night before I returned home, there was a knock at the door. My back passenger window had been put through (a window facing the neighbours house). No brick or anything nearby. Whoever did it, walked over, put it through, and then took their instrument of choice with them.

Thankfully DSs car seat was in my dad's car as he'd driven us all somewhere earlier that day.

Daisydrum · 31/01/2020 21:27

I would be annoyed at the two Strange cars occupying spaces and sitting there for days. Unless its to force people to park in spot 1!
But who would leave their cars there?

originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 21:34

Ohhhh I've just thought. Maybe it's displaced cars from the workmen's holes in the next street?

letmebefrank · 31/01/2020 21:43

Bonkers B... just bonkers.

Need to find someone to park their campervan there for a week.

mrsBtheparker · 31/01/2020 21:54

'three feet from the kerb and at an angle should do it'

That's what we call 'abandoning' rather than 'parking'.

ChoccyJules · 31/01/2020 21:57

I have just revisited the diagram that OP drew on to show the first-night antics and now I’m nonplussed all over again about B thinking it was OK to park on M’s drive Shock

(I don’t think I’ve ever written nonplussed before. This thread extends your vocabulary!)

Gogolego · 31/01/2020 22:02

Op if that's the case what's the parking drama in the next street like?

originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 22:08

Ooo I need a second house so I can watch...the next street has NO drives! But do they have a B?

OP posts:
originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 22:10

@ChoccyJules yes! And like "there was nowhere to park" is a valid reason ... no apology, no hope you don't mind but...

OP posts:
Apileofballyhoo · 31/01/2020 22:20

It's very disappointing that B got a lift to work. Did C stay home all day, OP?

Weenurse · 31/01/2020 22:22

Good thought, how many holes in the next street that are displacing cars?

originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 22:24

C just did school runs.

If C is off and B is on the early shift, it's much more fun between them.

OP posts:
originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 22:26

Oh, I reckon the hole and the cones area could well be 3 cars length. Actual cars, not the size B thinks they are.

OP posts:
originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 22:28

And since the workmen have spent precisely three minutes each day peering into the hole, it may be causing issues for some time yet.

OP posts:
Gogolego · 31/01/2020 22:43

So there's holes in the road in your street and the next street over too?

Sorry for the stupid question trying to get my head round it

YasssKween · 31/01/2020 22:43

Actual cars, not the size B thinks they are.

I love that I am so over invested in this thread that I read this and internally said "haha that is SO bloody B".

originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 22:45

The actual holes are in the pavement but somehow this means the ring of cones has to be on the road too. Then on the ABCD side is the workmen and narrow road red triangle. Which I really should know better names for

OP posts:
Gogolego · 31/01/2020 22:53

Ahhh ok! In that case I'm surprised Mrs b hasnt thrown the sign down the hole in the pavement

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/01/2020 22:59

The words "hear hear" had apparently slipped out of my mouth somehow and were clearly audible.

God, I hate that.

When I think I've said it in my head, and it's actually been out aloud . . .

Weenurse · 01/02/2020 00:29

So highly likely that extra cars are from next street.
This could get interesting.

Pulls up a chair and sets out wine and nibbles...🍷🍿🧀

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/02/2020 02:41

If there is no immediate action tomorrow, I can back my car up 20cm to provoke a pre-printed " you have parked 1m over our dropped curb" pre- printed notice that are placed on cars in this locality ( 1m is preprinted, but is crossed out and hand amended as required e. g. Almost 1m, sightly, 2cm etc. As required) .
I was curtain twitched this morning when I got back from a week working away, so they are already feeling aggrieved

Jojo2wyatr · 01/02/2020 07:15

By all means, @mumwon, please contact all your international family members so they'll be the first in their area to have a bit of fun with OP's Alphabet Streets Goes Global post. I'm sure they will appreciate that you brought them in on this matter of upmost importance happening as we speak....included for free just for tuning in : 1.practically on-the-scene regular updates from our esteemed MNer, OriginalCatLady, 2.suggestions for snacks while watching the post, 3.a theme song, and last but not least 4. matching his and hers team Alphabet Street Goes Global pink dressing gowns just like mrs.B wears whilst conducting her rants.

Goodgriefisitginfizzoclock · 01/02/2020 07:47

Have been following as I have no life! Just a thought about Strange car, we had in our street two clean cars turn up I think about 5/6 years old, not a particularly bad street for neighbour parking wars but I just knew we were all wondering whose cars they were. Anyway on a whim I don’t know why but I did an MOT check, neither had valid MOT or tax. Reported and within 24hrs clamps were put on cars! I was out but guys turned up ready with angle grinder got clamps off and went - neighbours confronted them to no avail they didn’t give a shit left the clamps and went - I did hear they were storing the cars quietly up our street before resale. Odd though cars were really nice one was an Audi TT all very strange. Anyhoo have you done an MOT check on Strange car?

CowCuddler · 01/02/2020 07:57

Is there not some law about blocking people in? There must be. ASBO maybe? Maybe suggest to C that she look into having D and B issued with one? Though B needs some kind of fine for parking even partly in a disabled space without a badge.

One disabled space in our street which no one seems to have any regard for. For some reason I find that a really Cuntish thing to do, to think "I dont care that this person, who clearly has mobility problems as the council have given them a space outside their home, will have to struggle as long as I can park closer to my home" utter cunts.
