See diagram below. I WFH and have no life but I'm pretty sure this will be entertaining to the Mumsnet parking thread folk!

House A, no car but X denotes the allocated disabled spot so he can be collected via a side entrance from his house.
House B, one car, has to park with car door level with front door, meaning she always uses space 1&2. Most people are afraid to park here. If someone does, she parks touching their bumper, in some kind of laying down the law attempt and stands there shouting "who's is this?" and similar nonsense.
House C, one car but not usually home, so is either forced to park in space X or further along from X, where there are two spaces in front of a garage.
House D, one car. Usually gets home first so gets space 3.
House E, house with drive.
House F, car but no drive. Usually parks in space 4.
House G, H, I, J have drives.
House K have two cars and no drive. They have been frequently told they are taking over the street and are not allowed to park in space 5, as it blocks house Gs drive and does not allow House F to park in space 4. I do point out that this has the same impact as house F parking in space 4 on me, but apparently not.
House L, house with drive (me).
House M, drive but no car.
House N, house with drive.

Houses B, F, G and M frequently have street gossips/meetings/bitching sessions declaring that people who haven't lived here for a billion years like them, are taking over, who do they think they are, they can't just park where they like etc etc.

So, if you're still with me, this brings me to today. In a spectacular turn of events, house K, who give no shits about fake parking laws, have parked in space 4. Their other car is further along in front of garage, as well as an unknown car.

House F have now come home parked kind of across both X and space 1 (basically leaving house Bs usual space for them). They are watching non stop to ensure they get their space back.

Very unusually, house C is home and has parked in space 2.

So. There is no space left in the street and house B, the most precious and hysterical have nowhere to park. They will return at 10pm.

This actually keeps me entertained daily. Sad I know.

Please Mr k. Hurry home.

ivykaty44 · 30/01/2020 16:44

My dad has been hooked in, he’s just asked “ do we get any videos?”

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 16:45

Haha a big white van just parked in 1 and 2 and it was almost worth a photo...until I realised it was my amazon delivery 🙄

OP posts:
Bazbear · 30/01/2020 16:45

I so wish we could get photo updates too!

BigFatLiar · 30/01/2020 16:46

So are 1,2 & 5 currently empty?

ivykaty44 · 30/01/2020 16:46

Go and sabotage his vehicle 😂

Ineedanap90 · 30/01/2020 16:51

I'm settling in for the evening.. Been off ill today so this had perked me up so thank you. Oh I do hope k comes back and claims Bs 'parking spot' hilerous pops popcorn in microwave I can't believe nobody has called her out on her BS. Wonder if k parked there last night to show they can't be pushed around (as the newbies)

MaggieFS · 30/01/2020 17:03

I'm here, popcorn replenished. So we have B, C and 2x K to come home to fight over spaces 1 & 2?

Boobahs · 30/01/2020 17:12

Think it's time for a diagram check!!

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 17:14

1 and 2 are empty. 5 cannot be used at the same time as 4 as street is too narrow.

We are awaiting C, Mr K, Mrs K and Batshit.

Gooseysgirl · 30/01/2020 17:16

I think I'm going to have to print off the diagram 🤣

Gooseysgirl · 30/01/2020 17:17

OMG thank you... you read my mind 😄

StuckBetweenDarknessAndLight · 30/01/2020 17:17

I'm going to miss tonight's shenanigans so am shamelessly placemarking so I can catch up later Grin

Doublethesarcasm · 30/01/2020 17:18

For some unknown reason I'm completely over invested in this thread. It's like a soap opera based on parking!

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 17:19

C is home. Just realised that D is parked a bit further along than usual and C has left a sensible space behind him so 1 is teeny (bearing in mind that X is likely to be empty) so B will have a breakdown later.

Adding a placemark as well. This has me riveted OP 😂

RonMexico · 30/01/2020 17:23

This thread could go on for years! I am thoroughly enjoying it and have even screen shot the diagram so I can refer back to it when it gets confusing!

LakieLady · 30/01/2020 17:25

I love that workman! Genius reply, and I'm going to use it at the first opportunity.

TheMustressMhor · 30/01/2020 17:26

What time do you expect B to return, OP?

Does she go to work in the pink dressing gown?

I can imagine her accent when she says "Whose is this?"

DanceItOut · 30/01/2020 17:41

Excellent 😁

YasssKween · 30/01/2020 17:49

Not that I'm now living my life around this thread but what kind of time are we expecting our favourite parking police volunteer home?

2020newme · 30/01/2020 17:50

Come on the Ks!!!

LakieLady · 30/01/2020 17:51

Anyway, I seriously think these events should be made into a film. I think it will be a roaring success..

I was thinking last night that it would be a great subject for a one-hour comedy drama. Can we cast Jack Dee as the van-driving workman?

DanceItOut · 30/01/2020 17:53

I'm actually currently watching two parents fighting over the last parking space at the school car park and I'm still flicking back to this threat intermittently to check for updates 😂
