See diagram below. I WFH and have no life but I'm pretty sure this will be entertaining to the Mumsnet parking thread folk!

House A, no car but X denotes the allocated disabled spot so he can be collected via a side entrance from his house.
House B, one car, has to park with car door level with front door, meaning she always uses space 1&2. Most people are afraid to park here. If someone does, she parks touching their bumper, in some kind of laying down the law attempt and stands there shouting "who's is this?" and similar nonsense.
House C, one car but not usually home, so is either forced to park in space X or further along from X, where there are two spaces in front of a garage.
House D, one car. Usually gets home first so gets space 3.
House E, house with drive.
House F, car but no drive. Usually parks in space 4.
House G, H, I, J have drives.
House K have two cars and no drive. They have been frequently told they are taking over the street and are not allowed to park in space 5, as it blocks house Gs drive and does not allow House F to park in space 4. I do point out that this has the same impact as house F parking in space 4 on me, but apparently not.
House L, house with drive (me).
House M, drive but no car.
House N, house with drive.

Houses B, F, G and M frequently have street gossips/meetings/bitching sessions declaring that people who haven't lived here for a billion years like them, are taking over, who do they think they are, they can't just park where they like etc etc.

So, if you're still with me, this brings me to today. In a spectacular turn of events, house K, who give no shits about fake parking laws, have parked in space 4. Their other car is further along in front of garage, as well as an unknown car.

House F have now come home parked kind of across both X and space 1 (basically leaving house Bs usual space for them). They are watching non stop to ensure they get their space back.

Very unusually, house C is home and has parked in space 2.

So. There is no space left in the street and house B, the most precious and hysterical have nowhere to park. They will return at 10pm.

This actually keeps me entertained daily. Sad I know.

I actually dreamt that I lived in this street last night and I updated to say that I'd just parked in space 1.

Clearly I'm over invested if this thread is featuring in my dreams.

Bowerbird5 you have on street parking so why are you putting your bin out? Its on street parking not private and anyone can park on it.

I have two neighbours who have started putting bins out to block a space outside there house. I moved one as there was no spaces on the street and I was challenged when they drove back asking why I moved there bin as that was where they lived. I reminded him it's on street parking and I can park anywhere and if they wanted there own space to move somewhere they had one.... entitled ass

GiveHerHellFromUs · 30/01/2020 07:36

@Bowerbird5 having a house with no drive doesn't entitle you to park directly outside your house. To put your bin there to stop other people parking there is a dick move.

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 08:09

Ooo B is at her window doing a bit of street watching!

CraicMammy · 30/01/2020 08:11

So B will be gunning for C this morning, right?

Trudij123 · 30/01/2020 08:12

I was looking at terraced houses with on street parking until I joined mumsnet - I don’t know that I could ever do it now!! 😆😆😆

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 08:13

Only in her head. She wouldn't dare fall out with C to her face.

Haha. I have been signed off work and need things in my life. This thread is perfect. Grin I'm such a neighbourhood stalker too so this all really resonates with me!

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 08:19

C has gone. She was barely at the end of the street when B reversed her car back to her 1/2 position.

@originalcatlady have we started a go fund me for a huge dildo and extra strength superglue yet?

Apileofballyhoo · 30/01/2020 08:27

Did C have any trouble getting out?

Oulu · 30/01/2020 08:33

OP, can't you club together with Mr and Mrs K to get an old banger to leave long term in space 2? It could provide endless entertainment.

Squidwitch · 30/01/2020 08:39

Can we please all get on a minibus and go on a day trip to this street? Video cameras at the ready

Squidwitch · 30/01/2020 08:40

Maybe everyone can bring their screaming toddlers and we can ramble about a bit

Squidwitch · 30/01/2020 08:42

Put your good clothes on, and an A4 Pad and we'll do some door knocking. We are the highways agency doing a survey

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 08:45

@Squidwitch love it 🤣🤣🤣

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 08:46

@Apileofballyhoo sadly, D had already left.

Love this thread. Some people really are crackers.

Someone mentioned rhubarb-and-custards creams up thread? Where would I buy those?

originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 08:52

I've had to move windows to assess B's reaction to the GREAT BIG WHITE VAN parked right outside her house, right up to her car. It was worth the move. Blood vessels may pop.

OP posts:
originalcatlady · 30/01/2020 08:53

Also C is now home from school run and can't park anywhere.

GinDaddy · 30/01/2020 08:54

@Bowerbird5 your mentality is staggering.

You don't own the street outside your house. You have purchased a house with a driveway - ONLY the driveway entitles you to park in a regular spot, as it's part of your house.

This "bin reserves my space" stuff is just laughable. If I was on your street? I'd simply pick up the bin, and park where I'm legally entitled to.

It's the thread that keeps on giving.
