See diagram below. I WFH and have no life but I'm pretty sure this will be entertaining to the Mumsnet parking thread folk!

House A, no car but X denotes the allocated disabled spot so he can be collected via a side entrance from his house.
House B, one car, has to park with car door level with front door, meaning she always uses space 1&2. Most people are afraid to park here. If someone does, she parks touching their bumper, in some kind of laying down the law attempt and stands there shouting "who's is this?" and similar nonsense.
House C, one car but not usually home, so is either forced to park in space X or further along from X, where there are two spaces in front of a garage.
House D, one car. Usually gets home first so gets space 3.
House E, house with drive.
House F, car but no drive. Usually parks in space 4.
House G, H, I, J have drives.
House K have two cars and no drive. They have been frequently told they are taking over the street and are not allowed to park in space 5, as it blocks house Gs drive and does not allow House F to park in space 4. I do point out that this has the same impact as house F parking in space 4 on me, but apparently not.
House L, house with drive (me).
House M, drive but no car.
House N, house with drive.

Houses B, F, G and M frequently have street gossips/meetings/bitching sessions declaring that people who haven't lived here for a billion years like them, are taking over, who do they think they are, they can't just park where they like etc etc.

So, if you're still with me, this brings me to today. In a spectacular turn of events, house K, who give no shits about fake parking laws, have parked in space 4. Their other car is further along in front of garage, as well as an unknown car.

House F have now come home parked kind of across both X and space 1 (basically leaving house Bs usual space for them). They are watching non stop to ensure they get their space back.

Very unusually, house C is home and has parked in space 2.

So. There is no space left in the street and house B, the most precious and hysterical have nowhere to park. They will return at 10pm.

This actually keeps me entertained daily. Sad I know.

Says one of god knows how many MNers, eagerly reading about people they don't even know!

I'm trying to stay awake while feeding a clustering newborn . The sofa and i are firm friends, i have to live vicariously through others 🤣. I accept i have no other life.

Atilathehunter · 29/01/2020 20:08

@MrsK are you married to my husband? I wonder if you’re his second family. Or perhaps his first. The coincidence is too much.

Does he have brown hair and marginally taller than the average UK male?

WhoWants2Know · 29/01/2020 20:09

I would be inclined to march up to K's door with some cookies to thank them for contributing to the entertainment.

Atilathehunter · 29/01/2020 20:09

Ps this thread had kept me entertained on a boring uber trip from Heathrow. I salute you all.

I live in a street so like this! Our 'B' is a batshit old lady with a noisy old car who parks in the exact same spot outside her house and if any unknown car dares to park a cm in to her made up space she parks as close as possible and stands there staring at the offending car for 10 minutes before getting back into her car and waiting until they come and move it.
I've seen her sit there for over an hour waiting before! Genuine batshittery at its best!

We no longer speak to each other after she screamed at us in the street once for parking overnight in her space out the back of her house (which has never been used in the 10 years I've lived here) because there were no spare spaces in the street (mainly due to her taking up two spaces!)

Having previously lived in a city full of rows of terraced houses for years I've grown up celebrating even being able to park in your own street let alone outside your house!

messopotamia · 29/01/2020 20:19

Hurry up Mr K!

SchoolMum66 · 29/01/2020 20:54

Wow, can't wait for B to get home! Won't go to bed until they do.
Aren't you glad you have a drive

TreeTopTim · 29/01/2020 20:55

Hurry up Mr K

chuffincold · 29/01/2020 20:56

We have a neighbour who bought a car purely to park on the road in front of their house. Tax & MOT it every year but it never moves

ivykaty44 · 29/01/2020 21:01

How do they get the car MOTed?

StarspaXxX · 29/01/2020 21:13

Wizards.

SisterFarAway · 29/01/2020 21:20

I've just read the whole thread, got so engrossed in it that I missed the crunch point at Love It or List It Shock

Hope Mr K returns soon.

B should have her license revoked just for the fact that she seems to be unable to park in one space only. And if she can't reverse park, maybe she should take a few lessons...

MaggieFS · 29/01/2020 21:24

Going to run out of popcorn soon!

Tinty · 29/01/2020 21:24

Is Mr K back yet OP?

MrsK · 29/01/2020 21:26

flouncyfanny he doesn’t, he has a fancy cart thing for his golf bag. It even has special wheels for winter 🤣

Atilathehunter yes to both. This thread is taking yet another turn! He’s been awfully tired lately, hmmm

He’s home & parked in his designated space. I however am not, we have our own little parking contretemp here

2020newme · 29/01/2020 21:28

ivykaty44 · 29/01/2020 21:35

Is the 1 space where Mrs B likes to park?

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 29/01/2020 21:39

ChristmasSweet · 29/01/2020 21:46

Doubt she will park there even if its free because she won't be able to. Grin will probably confuse her

rednsparkley · 29/01/2020 21:48

I wonder what it is about parking that sends some people completely batshit?

2020newme · 29/01/2020 21:54

She will be home soon

glennamy · 29/01/2020 21:55

hahaha
