See diagram below. I WFH and have no life but I'm pretty sure this will be entertaining to the Mumsnet parking thread folk!

House A, no car but X denotes the allocated disabled spot so he can be collected via a side entrance from his house.
House B, one car, has to park with car door level with front door, meaning she always uses space 1&2. Most people are afraid to park here. If someone does, she parks touching their bumper, in some kind of laying down the law attempt and stands there shouting "who's is this?" and similar nonsense.
House C, one car but not usually home, so is either forced to park in space X or further along from X, where there are two spaces in front of a garage.
House D, one car. Usually gets home first so gets space 3.
House E, house with drive.
House F, car but no drive. Usually parks in space 4.
House G, H, I, J have drives.
House K have two cars and no drive. They have been frequently told they are taking over the street and are not allowed to park in space 5, as it blocks house Gs drive and does not allow House F to park in space 4. I do point out that this has the same impact as house F parking in space 4 on me, but apparently not.
House L, house with drive (me).
House M, drive but no car.
House N, house with drive.

Houses B, F, G and M frequently have street gossips/meetings/bitching sessions declaring that people who haven't lived here for a billion years like them, are taking over, who do they think they are, they can't just park where they like etc etc.

So, if you're still with me, this brings me to today. In a spectacular turn of events, house K, who give no shits about fake parking laws, have parked in space 4. Their other car is further along in front of garage, as well as an unknown car.

House F have now come home parked kind of across both X and space 1 (basically leaving house Bs usual space for them). They are watching non stop to ensure they get their space back.

Very unusually, house C is home and has parked in space 2.

So. There is no space left in the street and house B, the most precious and hysterical have nowhere to park. They will return at 10pm.

This actually keeps me entertained daily. Sad I know.

See this is why you shouldn't get an early night, missed a live parking thread! Will be watching now though, does popcorn work for breakfast?! Grin 🍿

Skyejuly · 29/01/2020 07:41

Ah this gave me a good laugh.

Wineandpyjamas · 29/01/2020 07:45

Signing in for the morning update - have swapped popcorn and wine for coffee though as the kids are driving me nuts and it’s not even 8 yet.

NigellaAwesome · 29/01/2020 07:48

@MsPavlichenko yes, James Stewart. Thank you.

I'm in love with the sausage lawn idea. Also quite like the thought that M, in their advancing years might have written cunt on B's 🚗

Any movement this morning yet op?

originalcatlady · 29/01/2020 07:51

@MaggieFS the newer kind of terraces that are normal height, with gardens and 4 in a row.

originalcatlady · 29/01/2020 07:54

Morning all. Everyone is still currently in their positions. No movement. The only action currently is B with her lights on, highlighting that she is watching out of the window.

Just to add to the fun, we are a bit of a shortcut street, where we have a major rush hour, meaning the street for about 15 minutes at 8:30...when all our residents leave...no traffic the rest of the day though 🤷‍♀️

Awww do reckon poor B has had a restless, curtain twitching night!
Morning @originalcatlady hope you slept well 😛

EnidBlyton · 29/01/2020 07:57
Grin another placemarking.
Apolloanddaphne · 29/01/2020 07:58

Gosh that was a fun read. I am now awaiting the next instalment of Parking Wars.

ChristmasSweet · 29/01/2020 08:02

That's actually really sad that she is missing out on sleep because of a parking space. Does she literally have no life and is only happy when she can park outside her house? Confused

TopOftheNaughtyList · 29/01/2020 08:04

I ended up falling asleep last night and missing the last bits. Woke up at stupid o'clock (4:40) and came straight on here to see what I missed. I hope B doesn't let us down and creates a bit of a scene later rather than everyone just driving away. Wonder if B's DH will secure her space with cones later?

originalcatlady · 29/01/2020 08:05

Well I've never seen her awake this early when she's on the late shifts.

Wineandpyjamas · 29/01/2020 08:05

So OP are K and F going to be moving their cars early this morning? Presumably then B will be able to move her car off M’s drive and back into her ‘usual’ parking spot?

originalcatlady · 29/01/2020 08:06

We're all focusing on B here. At least she can see her car. Let's not forget F, who will be unable to see her car from her house and can see that K is stillllll parked outside her house

OP posts:
billybagpuss · 29/01/2020 08:08

She’s going to confront K isn’t she!!!!!

Apolloanddaphne · 29/01/2020 08:08

Are we supposed to work out which house you are? I am guessing N?

originalcatlady · 29/01/2020 08:10

Haha I told you. I'm L.

OP posts:
Apolloanddaphne · 29/01/2020 08:10

Ah ok. I must have missed that. Sorry.

acatcalledjohn · 29/01/2020 08:11

OP is house L.

B is forfeiting sleep because of some on street parking. Astounding.

NomDeQwerty · 29/01/2020 08:11

The lawn sausages!!!!!🤣🤣🤣

originalcatlady · 29/01/2020 08:14

D has left. Space 3 is free...but no one is fighting for it 🤷‍♀️

EnidBlyton · 29/01/2020 08:15

we used to have a drive, we didnt know we were born

Squidwitch · 29/01/2020 08:17

Fantastic! Literally had to sign up for MN just so I could add my 'here here' to this thread! Most entertainment I've had in 2020 thus far. This is my new best soap. We all know one of these b people!

SoupDragon · 29/01/2020 08:19

Can you offer to lend your car to K so that they don't have to move theirs?
