See diagram below. I WFH and have no life but I'm pretty sure this will be entertaining to the Mumsnet parking thread folk!

House A, no car but X denotes the allocated disabled spot so he can be collected via a side entrance from his house.
House B, one car, has to park with car door level with front door, meaning she always uses space 1&2. Most people are afraid to park here. If someone does, she parks touching their bumper, in some kind of laying down the law attempt and stands there shouting "who's is this?" and similar nonsense.
House C, one car but not usually home, so is either forced to park in space X or further along from X, where there are two spaces in front of a garage.
House D, one car. Usually gets home first so gets space 3.
House E, house with drive.
House F, car but no drive. Usually parks in space 4.
House G, H, I, J have drives.
House K have two cars and no drive. They have been frequently told they are taking over the street and are not allowed to park in space 5, as it blocks house Gs drive and does not allow House F to park in space 4. I do point out that this has the same impact as house F parking in space 4 on me, but apparently not.
House L, house with drive (me).
House M, drive but no car.
House N, house with drive.

Houses B, F, G and M frequently have street gossips/meetings/bitching sessions declaring that people who haven't lived here for a billion years like them, are taking over, who do they think they are, they can't just park where they like etc etc.

So, if you're still with me, this brings me to today. In a spectacular turn of events, house K, who give no shits about fake parking laws, have parked in space 4. Their other car is further along in front of garage, as well as an unknown car.

House F have now come home parked kind of across both X and space 1 (basically leaving house Bs usual space for them). They are watching non stop to ensure they get their space back.

Very unusually, house C is home and has parked in space 2.

So. There is no space left in the street and house B, the most precious and hysterical have nowhere to park. They will return at 10pm.

This actually keeps me entertained daily. Sad I know.

This is why we will only consider houses with a double garage and parking for 2-4 cars! Crazy but hilarious!

This is great, I literally came back on here just to get an update after I got the kids down 😂 Off to bed now but can't wait for tomorrow morning's update 😁

userlotsanumbers · 28/01/2020 23:15

I'd like to congratulate the OP, this is an excellent parking thread. I am shamelessly placemarking for tomorrow morning's update, this will be great. You don't have to go out at all, OP? concerned

YeOldeTrout · 28/01/2020 23:17

NigellaAwesome · 28/01/2020 23:18

It would be awful if B got a flat tyre and couldn't move her car off M's drive in the morning to reclaim her space.

RoomR0613 · 28/01/2020 23:19

Have I got it wrong or is it C who is parked in B's space?

What do we know about C? What is their reaction likely to be if B starts door knocking?

SmellyBeard · 28/01/2020 23:19

Go and write cunt on B's bonnet..

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 28/01/2020 23:20

OP, get some traffic cones and put them in all the spots. Then watch it all blow up.

NormaLouiseBates · 28/01/2020 23:20

Great thread, looking forward to morning updates!

C is parked outside her own house. She won't answer the door to anyone at this time. She'll be out for school time.

Don't worry, I WFH and my DC leave nice and early. I'll be watching.

originalcatlady · 28/01/2020 23:24

@TaliZorahVasNormandy you mean the ones form the roadworks that she moved as they were too close to her house . I mean, isn't there some law about this???

OP posts:
SchadenfreudePersonified · 28/01/2020 23:25

Forget penguin bollards, M needs these, Billy and Belinda, installed on their drive

Flippin' Ada - they're like Children of the Corn or the Midwich Cuckoos or something.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 28/01/2020 23:26

Preferrably not when the roadworks on. Dont wanna annoy the work men. I've seen what the do when people park after the cones have been put out.

AteAllTheAfterEights · 28/01/2020 23:29

I wish I lived on your street. I also WFH and this is EXACTLY the kind of entertainment I need

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 28/01/2020 23:31

Wow - crazy Op!

originalcatlady · 28/01/2020 23:34

@TaliZorahVasNormandy exactly! So why haven't they told the entitled cow off then?!

I was only joking about moving them!

I think B's front lawn needs the frozen sausages treatment.

originalcatlady · 28/01/2020 23:35

Frozen sausages?

OP posts:
BlackeyedSusan · 28/01/2020 23:37

Eh?

DogInATent · 28/01/2020 23:38

You bang them in to the lawn with a hammer. Have to be frozen for that, can't be limp. Give it 36hrs and every cat, badger and fox within a couple of miles will be ripping her lawn to shreds and she won't have a clue what's going on.

MzHz · 28/01/2020 23:40

Ooh..

DogInATent · 28/01/2020 23:40

It'll distract her from worrying about everyone else's parking for a bit.

RumRumRum · 28/01/2020 23:42

@DogInATent this is genius!
