To ask what’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve cried over lately?

My DD has a Fisher Price jungle play mat with a little keyboard which plays songs. One of them is quite a sweet little song about a purple monkey in a bubblegum tree. I was singing along with it to DD and bam! Suddenly I was bawling my eyes out. Luckily DD is only 6 months so she didn’t notice (too busy trying to get everything in arms reach into her mouth)!

I was so embarrassed afterwards, what a ridiculous thing to start crying over! It’s not even a sad song so I don’t know why I got so emotional!

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve cried over lately?

I cried at Guardians of the Galaxy 2 last night - not for the first time Grin Blush

I'm a bit of a sucker for sentimental stuff, ah well, I don't see any harm in it.

StarUtopia · 27/01/2020 14:02

My daughter coming last in a dance competition and everyone knowing she came last. Heartbreaking!

Bezalelle · 27/01/2020 14:17

I'm currently pregnant, and was reading a book about babies. There was a picture of a newborn having the "step" test, and it made me bawl! Having said that, pretty much anything sets me off these days...

Lordfrontpaw · 27/01/2020 14:19

Maggoty things crawling around in my hoover. Well, that would make anyone cry I suppose...

Tombliwho · 27/01/2020 14:20

Not recently but my ultimate stupid cry was when I was pregnant with DD and sobbed in Morrisons because they didn't have any Coco Shreddies. Full on devastated and DH was just like "u ok hun?"

wildthingsinthenight · 27/01/2020 14:21

I cry a lot at daft things.
I had a sniffle yesterday because the beef I had been slowcooking on low for hours wasn't falling off the bone and was a bit chewy. I was so looking forward to it.
I am aware I need to get a grip Smile

A personalised Bubblegum mug my gran bought me when I was 10 “just because”. I still use it often, just this particular day an emotional timebomb went off.
I miss her so much Sad

My son didn’t cry all the way to school (which is a first), so when I had dropped him off I cried on my walk to work. I cry at everything though, so not a surprise.

TheDogsMother · 27/01/2020 14:28

Blubbing right now actually. A friend messaged to say her beloved dog was put to sleep today. I have just arranged some flowers for her and got all weepy composing the message to go with them.

WheresMyChocolate · 27/01/2020 14:30

Did a click and collect weekly shop and somehow managed to order it to a store at the other end of the country. Went to pick up today from my local and found out I'd fucked it up. Took 5 minutes for customer services to cancel the order and reorder to the correct place for tomorrow. Then I burst into tears. Why? Stress release? The thought of having to go into the shop for things for tonight's dinner? Realisation that I'm technoligically illiterate? All of the above? Dunno.

Herocomplex · 27/01/2020 14:35

I think that’s lovely @FiveFarthings it sounds like a ‘moment’ and it obviously meant something to you. Enjoy your baby, and no need for embarrassment.

Happyandglorious · 27/01/2020 14:38

@HillAreas that made me tear upBlush
My lovely grandma used to buy me little bits just bc. Bless.
OP my son was given a musical duck as a newborn it was such a cheerful noise and I was so sleep deprived -it used to make me sob all the time

I'm peri menopausal so am a hormonal mess. Last night I cried because DH suggested putting a shelf up to hide some holes in the wallpaper and it solved the problem completely! Blush

hugogino · 27/01/2020 14:47

because a wheel broke off my wheelie bin

keepingbees · 27/01/2020 14:47

Not really ridiculous but I've got pmt and I'm tearful. I cried at the Gail Porter interview on Lorraine this morning and then again reading about all the Holocaust stories in the news.

Bakedpotatoandgin · 27/01/2020 14:48

I very nearly burst into tears when I broke a plate in public the other day. Instead I held it in until the next day, which meant a proper crying panic bc I couldn't open a door straight away (it was locked) 😂
I know...
