To ask what’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve cried over lately?

My DD has a Fisher Price jungle play mat with a little keyboard which plays songs. One of them is quite a sweet little song about a purple monkey in a bubblegum tree. I was singing along with it to DD and bam! Suddenly I was bawling my eyes out. Luckily DD is only 6 months so she didn’t notice (too busy trying to get everything in arms reach into her mouth)!

I was so embarrassed afterwards, what a ridiculous thing to start crying over! It’s not even a sad song so I don’t know why I got so emotional!

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve cried over lately?

I watched a little cartoon video to a song don't know what it's called about autism awareness (a dad and his kid and how his kid is different) and I cried my eyes out ... for like 10 minutes, as I'm writing this I'm getting flashbacks of it and can feel a lump in my throat

vampirethriller · 27/01/2020 20:00

I put my arms out to the baby and the dog came up for a hug too, and I cried because we all love each other so much.

Herocomplex · 27/01/2020 20:00

These are not ridiculous at all. You’d have to be made of stone not to feel something at all the love and loss mentioned in these posts.

Sometimes crying is all you can do.

I cried as I cut my 10 years old hair short after months of her begging. She loves it and it looks good but I realised that I may never get to comb and style it again with hairbands and bobbles etc as, she at 10.5 year old and it will take 3 or 4 years to grow back to a decent length, (it's gone from mid neck to boys shaved sides with curls left on top.)

I cried as I realised, I may never get to style my babies hair again and I'm literally bereft.

Alpacamabags · 27/01/2020 20:10

@MyuMe was it Henk the bear? Me too

Grumpos · 27/01/2020 20:17

Watching one of the scenes from lion king “circle of life” part, where the monkey holds baby simba up to all the animals and they all bow down to the new king (sob)
I’m not even fussed about the film and we just had the songs on you tube but watching that little bit got my bottom lip going Blush

I'm currently crying as my ds has failed another maths test at school. He's only 6 so not life changing, but he's trying so hard and just doesn't get it. His little bewildered face when I try and explain it to him.

Oh 10storey. I don’t get all sentimental over children but that’s given me a lump in my throat. Six is so little to be expected to take tests that can be failed isn’t it? Poor little soul and it must hurt you so much. Lucky he has a lovely mum though. 💐

Definitely has to be crying over enjoying my soup as much as I did the last time I ate it!
I made some roast vegetable soup at the weekend and ate some the day I made it, I then decided I would have it again the next day for lunch. As soon as I tasted it I burst into tears because it was just as good as the day before Hmm Hmm hormones??? Grin

My grandfather (who I adored) died 10 years ago July. Since then my uncle (who is lovely also) has had his car and parks outside his house on a local main road. Today my mother mentioned that the car is to be scrapped this week as it is too old and the repairs to pass the MOT will cost more than the car is worth.

The thought of not seeing his car when I drive past keeps making me tear up far too much

My arm. I have a bad tic in one arm and it's gotten so much worse this last year. Playing on PS4 other night and it was constantly going I had to stop Sad wish it would go. I've had it years.

I cried watching Picard on Netflix. He reminds me so much of my dad

adviceneededon · 27/01/2020 22:24

I've had a sickness bug since Saturday. Last night I just sat on the bathroom floor sobbing. No idea why, I just became overwhelmed with emotion. Me crying made my little girls cry, which then made me cry even more!

Tunnocks34 · 27/01/2020 22:27

I took my 6 year son to taekwando (at his request) this week for a taster session. He seems ok at first but when they started, he went really pale and started crying for me. Said he was scared, he was so upset I cried with him (discreetly)

I randomly googled my dads name this morning, in connection with a very famous shop from the '70s, (he was part of the small team who designed the very large interior) and found another member of the team had written a huge piece online about the shop, and he was not only mentioned but she described him beautifully..
I also found a photo she'd put online of the shop, and there he was.. he died a year after the photo.
While studying the picture, the Mamas and Papas song 'this is dedicated to the one i love' came on the radio, it has always reminded me of him.. I cried buckets, i've missed him all my life.

Carravaggio · 27/01/2020 23:27

When my son got home from school. He had been sick for a week & home for the Christmas holidays. It was a combination of missing him and anxious about him going back to school too soon.
I hadn’t expected to get upset and howled crying when I wheeled him into the house Shock thank god the school bus driver didn’t hear me! It was such a release

NaviSprite · 28/01/2020 00:21

An actually ridiculous one from me, I always get a lump in my throat whenever I see the 10th doctors regeneration, I think it’s the music?

orangejuicer · 28/01/2020 02:11

Grin navisprite

My best one was when I was about 7 months pregnant and trying to prep an avocado. I had the stone on the knife to fling in the food waste bin and it fell on the floor. No way was I picking that up.

OutOntheTilez · 28/01/2020 02:24

There’s a Walt Disney commercial – only 30 seconds – that makes me weep like a baby at the end Blush

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 28/01/2020 02:31

Years ago when I'd just had my first baby I drove to the local supermarket with him for our first shopping expedition.
Parked the car, got the folded buggy out to out him in but couldn't open the damn thing.

I grappled with it for 20 mins, gave up, sat in the car and sobbed and then went home without any shopping. Sobbed at home too for being so useless (baby is now 21 and I've done plenty of shopping since).

TweaksDadsHat · 28/01/2020 03:07

Omg yes @scrivette! That episode makes me cry every time haha!

Yesterday I fell into a YouTube worm hole and ended up watching a video of little mix getting put together and cried for them vous they were so happy!!!

EverdeRose · 28/01/2020 04:17

I'm pregnant so I think I'm allowed to be ridiculously emotional.

I cried when H and Matt skated on dancing on ice, it wasn't so much there performance but the reaction from John barrowman that moved me.

It then happened about 15 minutes later when Christopher was telling libby how beautiful her skating was and how he hoped she felt it.
