Would you mention kids in dating profiles?

If you are looking to date [for the first time in a decade], do you mention you have a child (a 2 year old) in your [tinder] profile?

I feel like matching is on looks and personality from a bio - baggage is a later convo.

YANBU - no mention
YABU - mention them

I'm always truthful on my profile inc about my 1 DC. I went on a coffee date, it was going so well we had lunch together, turned into all afternoon and dinner too. By date 3 I slept with him. The next day he text me and told me he didn't want to be stepdad to a 6 year old.
I replied, she already had a dad. She doesn't need another one

Yes, they are part of the deal so no point pretending. I put all my dealbreakers on my profile (tinder is obviously quite brief whereas the paid for ones allow a lot more detail) it worked!

Ps I had a no under 16's rule myself so it does make a difference - we all are looking for different things. It's worth the effort though when you actually do meet an amazing person

It depends, sometime it's just right from day 1.

My profile let users know there was a kid and a cat on the scene. 3 years later I'm still with the man who matched despite him being allergic to cats. He accepts he was warned

Mention being a parent but don’t give any further details so you don’t accidentally attract people more interested in your little one than you
