Scrambled eggs on toast - 1 slice or 2

Extremely riveting question.

I normally go for 1 slices on normal brown bread as 2 slices would be way too much. Normally have something on the side like a few slices of chorizo to fill me up.

Sister insists 2 slices is the norm. I'd be bloated for hours

What about you

2 slices of bread isn’t way too much for any adult.

1 slice (granary) with 2 large eggs for me. I think it would surely depend on your calorific needs. Each to their own eh.

CarolinaPink · 23/01/2020 21:04

The more the better! If you don’t want the second (or third) slice then I’d be happy to eat it/them for you Grin

Mamabear88 · 23/01/2020 21:12

2 slices of toast, 3 eggs for me too. 1 slice would not keep me going.

Jollitwiglet · 23/01/2020 21:15

Usually 1 slice with 2 eggs, but I would normally have something like a yogurt and some fruit as well. If I wasn't having anything alongside it, I would have 2 slices

wendywoopywoo222 · 23/01/2020 21:20

I'd have two slices and two eggs but would prob of eaten another two slices whilst I was cooking the eggs. Probobly with marmite. This is why I'm fat 😂

Redyellowpink · 23/01/2020 21:23

@IhaveBrilloHair

I'm afraid licking an eggshell would take me out of keto Shock

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 23/01/2020 21:31

For scrambled egg on toast I’d have 2 eggs & 1 slice of bread. Nothing on the side. For beans on toast I’d have 2 slices of bread & half a can of beans. Possibly a packet of plain crisps on the side. I’m not sure why I treat them differently with the bread & side ratios though.

lotsofoysters · 23/01/2020 21:34

You're probably bloated because you're eating hovis, packaged sliced bread is full of shite.

Roominmyhouse · 23/01/2020 21:38

Definitely 2 slices of bread, or as per a previous poster a couple of potato waffles is even better!

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/01/2020 21:38

@Redyellowpink.
Yes, that's true.
Just look at the eggs and bread whilst munching on your block of lard, much healthier.

UndertheCedartree · 23/01/2020 21:42

1 for me and my DD (7) but 2 for my BF and DS (12). Just depends on your appetite!

Oysterbabe · 23/01/2020 21:44

My 4 year old will eat 1, I can manage 2 easily.

PatellarTendonitis · 23/01/2020 21:49

Well no wonder your bloated, such a small stomach! I have no stomach myself. Osmosis provides all the nourishment for our entire family, I just Google images of food. Anything else is way too much.

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/01/2020 22:01

A chicken would last you foreverGrin

PatellarTendonitis · 23/01/2020 22:03

I channel Proust. I have only to call up the recollection of chicken and I'm bloated for hours.

wheresmyrunningshoes · 23/01/2020 22:07

1 slice. Its a sopjlhisticated brunch ya' know.

Beans on toast, now that's a full meal so that's definitely two.

wheresmyrunningshoes · 23/01/2020 22:08

Possibly a packet of plain crisps on the side.

Woah.

firesong · 23/01/2020 22:14

It would depend when in the day, how hungry I felt etc. I've never had a rule tbh!

Canyousewcushions · 23/01/2020 22:19

2 slices of your standard bread from a packet in the supermarket.

1 slice of bread if it's from the bread maker as that's more substantial.

RiftGibbon · 23/01/2020 22:24

2 slices with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and avocado if it's on offer.

firesong · 23/01/2020 22:30

I don't understand the comment about bread not making people bloated. I totally understand it OP, I love bread but it bloats me and sometimes gives me a stomach ache as well. So I try to have lunches that don't involve bread unless I'm "due on" and bloated anyway, then I go for a big baguette.

skyblu · 23/01/2020 22:30

2

ClientListQueen · 23/01/2020 22:33

3 eggs, 2 toast

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 23/01/2020 22:42

wheresmyrunningshoes Blush it reads knobbier than I meant it. No other flavour really works with beans Grin
