Scrambled eggs on toast - 1 slice or 2

Extremely riveting question.

I normally go for 1 slices on normal brown bread as 2 slices would be way too much. Normally have something on the side like a few slices of chorizo to fill me up.

Sister insists 2 slices is the norm. I'd be bloated for hours

What about you

Two slices but I buy the small bread as I don't eat it that often. If I run out and have to use DH/DCs "big" bread then one isn't enough and two is too much so I tend to make two and eat one and a half. Blush I'm really not a big eater though so I'd assume two was a normal serving.

3 bits of toast with avocado and three poached eggs. Marvellous.

knightlight · 23/01/2020 13:22

For lunch: one for tea: two

Stickybeaksid · 23/01/2020 13:49

Two eggs two toast. Standard.

sofato5miles · 23/01/2020 13:55

Two eggs and two slices of toast.

And morella cherry jam to put on any toast that is left..

Sforsh49 · 23/01/2020 13:58

2 slices of toast, 3 large eggs but the Dog always gets at least half an eggs worth of the scramble as he LOVES it! Doesn't get any toast though, I don't eat much bread and I'm not wasting what I do have on him 😂

BrimfulofSasha · 23/01/2020 14:11

Nobody is right- it isn't something that can be wrong or right, it's personal preference.

I normally do 3 slices of seeded toast. 5 eggs scrambled with a generous amount of butter and either avo or baby tomatoes on the side with lots of black pepper...then split it between me and my 10yo...so 1 1/2 slices

LakieLady · 23/01/2020 14:16

2 slices of toast with 3 scrambled eggs

Yes, with some smoked salmon, ideally, or good quality smoked ham chopped and stirred into the eggs at the end. And a grilled vine tomato.

LakieLady · 23/01/2020 14:30

@Straycatstrut, Flora Light is NOT butter! Grin It's an oozy mess of oily stuff with added water and bears no resemblance to the real thing.

Butter is a delicious, creamy, sumptuous delight in its own right, although I will stoop to having Lurpak spreadable for convenience sake much of the time. Once or twice a month, we have real butter, usually French, as a treat and it makes such a difference.

The best butter I have eaten is Belgian though. The Belgians make great butter and cheese, which they seem to keep a closely guarded secret.

Sacrilege to ruin delicious scrambled eggs by putting some inferior spread that tastes like an industrial waste product on the toast, imo.

YANBU to eat your scrambled eggs in the portion, and with the accompaniments, of your choice.

YABU to not recognise the context of the MN tendency to orthorexia, which invariably surfaces on food threads.

(Two slices, two eggs, here. Lots of butter on the toast, no milk in the eggs.)

lemontreebird · 23/01/2020 14:32

2 slices of wholemeal (no palm oil) and 3 very large eggs. No bloating.

lemontreebird · 23/01/2020 14:33

With Kerrygold butter and milk in the eggs.

Wingedserpentfliesbynight · 23/01/2020 14:33

1 toast, 2 eggs. That's be enough to fill me

lemontreebird · 23/01/2020 14:35

Mine would be my brunch, though. I only eat 2 meals a day now.

JohnVirgo · 23/01/2020 14:42

3 slices of toast, 2 eggs.

IntermittentParps · 23/01/2020 14:54

3 bits of toast with avocado and three poached eggs.
Now you're talking.

Redyellowpink · 23/01/2020 15:02

Just the egg white and half a crust for me Hmm

Megan2018 · 23/01/2020 15:03

2 slices toast and 4 bantam eggs scrambled per person here (we have our own hens)

Eveting2019 · 23/01/2020 15:04

Shocked you have not been out and about to know that two is the norm for an adult.

Beamur · 23/01/2020 15:06

Am in awe of those of you polishing off 3 slices/eggs. My DH looks aghast at me having 2 eggs, he thinks more than one is beyond decadent.

elc19 · 23/01/2020 15:09

@Beamur You're husband would be disgusted with me! 2 slices of Tesco finest seeded bread, 3 eggs mixed with a tiny bit of milk, proper butter and some salt and pepper. Yum!

Beamur · 23/01/2020 15:16

I usually have 2 poached eggs but it almost feels like an act of rebellion in front of his nibs Grin

ultrablue · 23/01/2020 15:18

2 eggs, dash of milk sandwiched between two slices of buttered wholemeal

JellyfishandShells · 23/01/2020 15:23

1 toast, two eggs scrambled - not a big bread fan though. Plus some marmite on the toast .

Nuttyaboutnutella · 23/01/2020 15:33

I had this for breakfast today. I usually have 2 eggs, 1 toast. But we have a bread maker so the bread is much more filling. Two slices plus eggs makes me uncomfortably full.
