Scrambled eggs on toast - 1 slice or 2

Extremely riveting question.

I normally go for 1 slices on normal brown bread as 2 slices would be way too much. Normally have something on the side like a few slices of chorizo to fill me up.

Sister insists 2 slices is the norm. I'd be bloated for hours

What about you

2 bread, 3 eggs.

rubydoobydoo · 23/01/2020 11:36

Depends- two slices of toast is it's a meal (with cheese and Worcestershire sauce mmmmm), one if it's a snack or quick breakfast.

LemonPrism · 23/01/2020 11:37

Obviously 2. I don't eat meat and rarely feel bloated. But eat what you want no one cares

VallarMorghulis · 23/01/2020 11:37

YABU. Scrambled eggs on toast is the most delicious breakfast in the world and one slice is never enough.

CaptainMyCaptain · 23/01/2020 11:38

It's pointless making one slice of toast. One only serves as an appetiser and you have to make another one anyway.

LemonPrism · 23/01/2020 11:38

'Way too much' lol I had about 6 slices of bread yesterday.. I'm 24 and probs eat 2,800 calories everyday because I'm always STARVING. Also I weirdly grew half an inch last year which I wasn't expecting

livingthegoodlife · 23/01/2020 11:39

1 slice, loads of butter & 2 eggs.

slashlover · 23/01/2020 11:40

I hate these types of posts.

My sister is slim so know it's not overeating. Just curious as we were both adamant our preference was the norm.

There is no norm. Some people will have one slice, some two, some more. Some people will have one egg, some will have two, some will have more. Some will add milk, some will add cream, some will have neither, some will add chorizo.

LemonPrism · 23/01/2020 11:41

Also chorizo is full of cancer causing nitrates and masses of fat so you're not the super skinny mini you like to imagine.. do you feel better now after your competitive under-eating post?

Ashtower · 23/01/2020 11:41

I'm only 5 ft 4 and have an office job - my appetite isn't huge. Think I have a naturally small stomach which is prone to bloating.

so you're not the super skinny mini you like to imagine

100% your own projection. I am not an overly healthy eater in any way. I eat plenty of crap.

I usually have little toast the 400g slices so will go for 2 of that or one larger.

But tbh I prefer potato waffles Blush

lisag1969 · 23/01/2020 11:45

2 slices. X

SuburbanCrofter · 23/01/2020 11:49

Two slices. With Marmite.

(Bangs gavel)

longtompot · 23/01/2020 11:54

I used to have 3 eggs scrambled on 2 slices of toast. But now, due to gluten intolerance I just have the egg, and actually thats enough for me. I don’t think there is a ‘normal’ amount to have. Eat what makes you feel satisfied.

eenymeenyminyme · 23/01/2020 11:56

1-3 eggs + 1 slice of toast

I'm on WW and eggs are free but a normal slice of bread costs 3 points!

Chemenger · 23/01/2020 11:56

Two slices, one under the eggs (two eggs) and one just with butter to eat on the side. Of course that would then do me for an entire month, in the same way that looking at chocolate is as good as a three course meal (in competitive under eating terms). Honestly, "being bloated for hours" after a slice of toast is not normal, if this is the case I would consider talking to your doctor.

eenymeenyminyme · 23/01/2020 11:58

Is it just me that's craving scrambled eggs now?

Pukkatea · 23/01/2020 12:01

One slice, two eggs. Two slices is for beans. Thus it has always been and always shall be.

username108 · 23/01/2020 12:02

Got to love a competitve undereating thread.

Op, thats way too much food- and the chorizo as well. Good god. You must be massive

PiedImperial · 23/01/2020 12:03

I was wondering what to have for lunch, and now I'm thinking I quite fancy scrambled eggs on toast Grin

To answer your question, OP, I'll be having one slice of bread, with 2 eggs (and loads of butter).

Ashtower · 23/01/2020 12:04

Honestly, "being bloated for hours" after a slice of toast is not normal

I said 2 slices of toast and 3 eggs would cause me to bloat as I have a small stomach.

OP posts:
Ashtower · 23/01/2020 12:04

I also have slight lordosis which naturally sticks my stomach out

OP posts:
Ashtower · 23/01/2020 12:07

I have A LOT of butter so plenty of calories (probably triple what most use). I am a normal weight.

DeathMetalMum · 23/01/2020 12:07

For breakfast one slice, lunch two. Such a shame I can't eat scrambled egg (or fried/boiled/poached) without it upsetting my stomach.
