MistletoeNWine · 18/01/2020 21:16

Agree

RoomR0613 · 18/01/2020 21:16

TFFN

(Thank Fuck For Netflix)

Currently settling down to the new series of Sex Education

Montythemooseisatitagain · 18/01/2020 21:17

Agree. It’s been shit for a very long time.

Pipandmum · 18/01/2020 21:18

That's why you have Sky! Cant remember last time I watched 'live' TV. Its box sets or on demand.

TheSandman · 18/01/2020 21:20

All Telly is shit.

ironicname · 18/01/2020 21:21

I'm watching Michael Burke on the Clifton Suspension Bridge - feels like a Monday.

Sparklesocks · 18/01/2020 21:21

That Jason Manford game show was so naff that I weirdly enjoyed it Grin

RedRec · 18/01/2020 21:22

Totally agree. Have just started watching 'You' on Netflix. Episode one looks good so far.

BreconBeBuggered · 18/01/2020 21:24

YANBU. This is why I let DH have free rein with the remote at weekends. What a thoughtful, reasonable wife I am. He's bingeing on Netflix.

Redonion123 · 18/01/2020 21:25

Enjoyed The Greatest Dancer earlier.

skiptheskip · 18/01/2020 21:26

I have just said those exact words to DH - Satoday night telly is shit.

We are watching some shit film on 4.

PumpkinPie2016 · 18/01/2020 21:28

Agreed - can't remember the last time I watched something on a Saturday night.

I like something with a story to it -enjoyed Downton Abbey when that was on. Loving Silent witness at the moment (but not on Saturdays!).

We tend to watch DVDs -either films or box sets of a series.

ToEarlyForDecorations · 18/01/2020 21:28

Jason Manford is the best of the worst IMO. Everything else is just unwatchable tripe. Well, except for Pointless.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 18/01/2020 21:29

I agree OP
Currently watching series 1 episode 1 of London's Burning. Used to be prime time weekend viewing in the 80s

BarbaraofSeville · 18/01/2020 21:30

Does it matter what's on when anymore?

We can now watch what we want, when we want and 'Saturday night telly' can be anything you want it to be.

So no wonder they don't bother putting anything worth watching on any more, although I did enjoy Pointless Celebrities earlier, which due to some dancing shite programme, had been put back until the actual 'Saturday night telly slot' as it didn't start until after 7.30.

woodhill · 18/01/2020 21:33

Yes Pointless is excellent.

Not even Dad's Army tonight which I quite like

Even resorted to watching Guitar heroes from circa 79 which was dreadful too

longwayoff · 18/01/2020 21:37

Terrible and has been for years. Never watch tv on Sat nights.

marshmallowss · 18/01/2020 21:40

I think you need to watch the masked singer on ITV......................... Confused

fantasmasgoria1 · 18/01/2020 21:42

Yes it is. A lot of TV is rubbish though!

PositiveVibez · 18/01/2020 21:43

It is DREADFUL.

I started watching Game of Thrones again from the beginning.

DesertSky · 18/01/2020 21:44

I recall Saturday tv as a kid, all family gathered around. Things on like Gladiators, Family Fortunes, Blind date etc. It might’ve been lame at times but all ages could watch it and they had members of the public on so it felt relatable. These days it’s all z-list celebs and the same old commercial rubbish.
Same goes for kids programmes - fun house, live and kicking, Keenan and Kal, sm:tv live, The fresh prince etc. Those were the good old days. Sigh.

Gogolego · 18/01/2020 21:48

I've got something on 5+1 with Tony Robinson and the Georgians. About to turn over to 4+1 and some movie

But Saturday night is crap especially wit h snooker taking up the whole of bbc2 up

Bluerussian · 18/01/2020 21:49

I don't think it's very good. I like Casualty and watched The Voice tonight but stuff that was on earlier was banal.

Flavabobble · 18/01/2020 21:49

Those were the good old days
The likes of the shite formerly known as Blind Date are what killed off Saturday night tv imo.

FizzyIce · 18/01/2020 21:52

Yup. Been through all 500 or whatever channels on sky , then Netflix and find duck all that appeals to me that I haven’t already watched
