Completely agree, flippin heck when are they going to get rid of Casualty!

hammeringinmyhead · 18/01/2020 22:06

This is what Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky Boxsets, Now TV and iPlayer are for!

chomalungma · 18/01/2020 22:33

I really can't believe Casualty is still Saturday night TV.

Mind you, we have soap domination on BBC1 and ITV during the week.

I do like Netflix.

longwayoff · 18/01/2020 22:44

Had flick through iplayer though and found Mrs Wilson. Excellent, well worth a second look.

Pasithea · 18/01/2020 22:48

What kind of fresh he’ll is that masked whatever. 30 seconds of a tree singing that was enough.

ssd · 18/01/2020 22:52

I'm now watching a programme about Henry 8th on ch5

I've seen it before but it's better than anything else.

It could be worse ant and Dec will be on in a few months, the talentless knobs.

ITV is reliant on cowell and ant and Dec, they ought to be ashamed.

Mirandaqueenbee · 18/01/2020 23:02

Yeah it's shit now I went without sky for ages but got it back due to fuck all to watch

CocoLoco87 · 18/01/2020 23:07

I miss Baywatch Grin and Gladiators... and Blind Date. It saddens me to think that my DC won't know decent Saturday night TV!

ShakeItUp · 18/01/2020 23:10

It's been dire for donkeys years.

OneToThree · 18/01/2020 23:12

Celebrity Catchphrase
The Masked Singer
First and Last
What’s not to love Grin we’re easily pleased in this house.

Bunnylady54 · 18/01/2020 23:18

We like The Masked Singer, although can’t stand Ken! And The Greatest Dancer is good. I think The Voice has changed. At least twice tonight Tom Jones didn’t turn but he wasn’t asked why or what he thought about the singers.

Bunnylady54 · 18/01/2020 23:18

I like Ant & Dec!

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 18/01/2020 23:36

@hammeringinmyhead You are assuming everyone can pay for Netflix, Prime and Now TV . Not every one can you know.

BarbaraofSeville · 18/01/2020 23:49

When To be fair, Now TV at least if very cheap. We've had it for years and apart from a few months on and off, we've almost always paid less than half the 'full price'. If you try to cancel they will offer you a deal.

We have a TV licence as we like the BBC (so shoot me) but the only other thing we pay for is Netflix, which I could happily do without, and NowTV if I can get it for £2/3 pm, otherwise I just cancel.

But as long as you have a basic smartphone, tablet etc you can just watch catch up TV for nothing using an app on whatever device you use to access the internet.

I know some people can't afford these, but the vast majority have at least a basic smart phone and a large proportion of those who don't, it's not due to cost, just not interested etc.

clockworklime · 18/01/2020 23:51

Saturday night TV is just an endless stream of hysterical shrieking

AnyFucker · 18/01/2020 23:52

You only just noticed this ?
I haven't watched Sat night telly for 30 years. It induces utter rage in me.

5foot5 · 18/01/2020 23:59

Haven't bothered with Saturday tele for years. It is always exceptionally shite.

Currently we are working our way through old episodes of Dexter. Saw it all first time round but it's been a long time. We are up to season 3

thatonesmine · 19/01/2020 00:00

We usually watch a downloaded movie on Saturday nights, yes the scheduled telly is shocking and has been as long as I can remember. Tonight we watched half of The Irishman, will probably finish it next Saturday.

Notthebloodygym · 19/01/2020 00:00

Yup. Beyond crap.

Katzia · 19/01/2020 00:07

No TV on in our house at all on Saturday. It's just dreadful. Saturday's are now takeaway and red wine night in the media room where hubby has free rein to relive and play all his old favourite CDs. Tonight we had Abba, Air Supply, Reba McEntire and George Strait. I know!!!??!😱😱😱😱 He has very specific tastes, shall we say. But it was still better then TV.

Propagandalf · 19/01/2020 01:45

I agree with the others on Gladiators and Blind Date. There was Noel's House Party too, although I think it clashed with Gladiators, so sometimes I watched one and recorded the other to watch later.

As for Ant and Dec, I preferred them when they were PJ & Duncan where they were more like a dance act. Also: Byker Grove. As Ant & Dec, they became more generic, like a boy band. Not sure what they're like on TV nowadays though.

HeIenaDove · 19/01/2020 02:01

Yep Agree.

And ITV Hub is shit. Totally unusable.

Yarboosucks · 19/01/2020 02:04

Truly awful.

safariboot · 19/01/2020 02:18

It's been "crap telly night" for as long as I can remember.
