Does anyone else’s husband do this?

This is our granola cereal. So high up nobody in the house can reach it without a ladder. This isn’t the only thing but I thought it is a good example!

Does anyone else’s husband do this?

Rainydaysmeanmuddypuddles · 17/01/2020 20:20

Yes mine does. Puts things where I can't reach them then tells me I'm lying that I can't reach or tells me to get some ladders.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 17/01/2020 20:20

No. But then we are both short.
Why does your DH put it there? Doesn't it have a more accessible place to live?

Tinty · 17/01/2020 20:21

That is so no one else can eat it. Take it down and replace with all bran 😆

ToastandCheese · 17/01/2020 20:21

Um, no.

DustyMaiden · 17/01/2020 20:22

When I had Venetian blinds my DH cut all of the pull strings so short I couldn’t reach them.

PickAChew · 17/01/2020 20:23

Mine opens the bathroom window to just beyond where I can reach it.

Honeyroar · 17/01/2020 20:23

Yes, occasionally. He’s 6’3 and forgets how much smaller I am! Tbh I used to put the biscuit tin where only he could reach when I was on a diet!

FruityWidow · 17/01/2020 20:23

He soon stopped after I hollered for him to pass it back down to me everyone he did.

Ekefox · 17/01/2020 20:23

No, he'd put it in a cupboard and very helpfully leave the cupboard door open so that I could see it in there. And the drawer open so I could see the spoons. And another cupboard open so I could see the bowls.

Surplus2requirements · 17/01/2020 20:24

@Tinty I really like All Bran Smile so much so I have to ration myself Blush

purpledingyoverboard · 17/01/2020 20:24

Yes but we are both tall so not a problem lol.

Grasspigeons · 17/01/2020 20:26

Yes! He absent mindedly pops things on top of places like that when he doesnt want the children to get them, forgetting I cant either. He then promptly forgets he has done it too. It makes find stuff extra hard.

Reginabambina · 17/01/2020 20:28

Yes, so do my kids. I’m tall though so it doesn’t matter.

RandomMess · 17/01/2020 20:29

All the top shelves in the house belong to DH 🤷🏽‍♀️

DieDeutschLehrerin · 17/01/2020 20:31

Yes, then gets huffy when food out of my sight, (back of top 2 shelves) goes off in the fridge. He's nearly a foot taller than me.

Icantfind · 17/01/2020 20:33

@Ekefox that could be me...sometimes I’ll go back the kitchen and it looks like that scene from sixth sense.

PixieDustt · 17/01/2020 20:34

Is your husband slender man? Grin
It's funny because my DP can only wish to reach up that high!

PixieDustt · 17/01/2020 20:36

To add DP is only about 5'8 I'm only 5'1 so most things are challenge to reach for me 🤣

Elieza · 17/01/2020 20:40

Just as well platform shoes are ‘in’ ! Grin

Almostfifty · 17/01/2020 20:40

I have stepladders to reach my top shelves.

Actually they're to reach the middle shelves, cos I'm tiny. Grin

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 17/01/2020 20:42

He (unintentionally) open a the window too wide and doesn't understand why I don't put things on the top shelf in corner kitchen cupboard. I CANT REACH IT. No one under 6ft can.

elliemcx · 17/01/2020 20:44

yes mine, he's 6'6 and puts pans and pots nesting in each other at the top of the cupboards. I've nearly knocked myself out on more than one occasion trying to get them down.

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 17/01/2020 20:46

Yes! We buy the 24 can packs of Pepsi Max. He always, ALWAYS puts them on top of out tall fridge freezer where I haven't got a hope in hell of reaching them, then complains because I don't put another can in the fridge when I take one out.

I've told him that I. CAN'T. REACH. THEM. sooo many times... Angry

MyHairNeedsASnip · 17/01/2020 20:47

Yes, I can only see my forehead in the bathroom cabinet mirror he put up. I wouldn't care but he ain't so tall himself.

SoEverybodyDance · 17/01/2020 20:49

Wasn't there a woman on mumsnet today who wanted to put cat litter in her granola to stop a colleague eating it.

I think putting the granola at such a height that no one else can eat it is also worthy of a little cat littering OP...
