it is my DD's 2nd birthday on Friday, my DH will be away with work stuff until Saturday evening ( depending on trains etc ) until about 6pm ...he asked me on Monday if we could have her birthday on the Saturday instead and I said I thought that was a bit strange, but we could save her main present and he could give it to her when he sees her....he is not happy ..am I in the wrong ? ( although too late now as I have little party friends coming over on Friday!!)

im seriously confuddled..havent been on here much lately (and i'm dim at the best of times) tired too.

no sarcasm intended at all, just very curious!

unknownrebelbang · 29/08/2007 23:35

Do I need to add my YABU??

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/08/2007 23:37

Nightowl

Strikes me as MN as it used to be.

Ask a question, and get the truth.

No pink stuff, no hun, no nonsense.

twofishes · 29/08/2007 23:38

to sum up Nightowl..Paddlingmad DD birthday is Friday, DH has 'volunteered' to go away with work eventhough they were supposed to be going on planned holiday..paddling is a bit mad ( okay I would think..only human) DH wants to have DD's birthday when he gets back , paddling thinks thats not right ..so a difference in outlook has resulted in paddling hating her husband, only using him as a sperm donor and cash machine and using her kids as a weapon of war and is obvioulsy a very mixed woman with deep emotional problems etcetc as usual blown out of all proportion on MN...others might be interested in reading her previous posts...

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/08/2007 23:38

My last word on the subject.

The OP refers to my daughter, this IMO is quite chilling.

Tortington · 29/08/2007 23:39

no glitter

twofishes · 29/08/2007 23:39

maybe if we try really hard we could tip her over the edge..

nightowl · 29/08/2007 23:39

you mean about four years ago when i first joined bree?

it was an honest question...have never done the hun thing meself.

Skribble · 29/08/2007 23:40

Over the years we quite often give the kids two birthday days, Normally have a tea party at Granny's and birthday tea out or a party with freinds, never seems to be on their actual birthday as we both work iregular evenings so never know what day the tea party might be.

I think it heps to teach kids to be flexable about these kind of things, explain to 6 yr old you are waiting until daddy is home for the big party. Why not have a special birthday tea ont he actual day too and get 6 yrold to help decorate and perhaps give their present.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/08/2007 23:40

Custy

Forgot the glitter.

But yes you have a point.

Tortington · 29/08/2007 23:41

no sprinkles.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/08/2007 23:42

Oh arse and the sprinkles....

Pan · 29/08/2007 23:42

Wow. What IS the point of this thread?? OP is entertaining unpleasant thoughts about dh..working them out on a birthday party of a child..why start a thread at all?? She knows what she is doing.

Why do a thread about it? Hmm? Hmmmm??

Tortington · 29/08/2007 23:43

"i heart bree"

what is it with you and glitter tonight Custy??

YABU. Yep you are annoyed over holiday etc, but birthdays are special, don't drag other arguments into it.

Tortington · 29/08/2007 23:46

well quite oops. I agree wholeheartedly. One would assume delight at the prospect of such a caring parent who wants to actually spend the time with his daughter.

paddlinglikemad · 29/08/2007 23:46

you see i have the wrong idea I was actually recommended MN by a HV when I had PND as a way of talking problems through, people may be in the wrong but what started as a reasoned disagreement ended up with horrid stuff obviously I am too wet for MN need to find a soppy site soppymumsrus or something ...

WendyWeber · 29/08/2007 23:46

Yes the OP is being unreasonable on this point, but she is pissed off about the holiday, venting in general, and doesn't really expect anyone to say YANBU I think - just enjoying the vent (as you do)

I think some of the venom is a bit OTT, frankly (even for a nest of vipers )

Tortington · 29/08/2007 23:47

TotalChaos i hope your not a namechanger i would give you glitter and sprinkles but i must withhold until i am sure i love you

Skribble · 29/08/2007 23:48

Don't be daft, you asked the question so you will get a variety of answers, just happens on this occassionmost disagree.

Tortington · 29/08/2007 23:49

paddling...much hugs and kisses with sprinkles of sugared icing.

it is with much love and kindness i say that one cannot ask if one is unreasonable if one doesn't actually want a reply.

i shall make you a doily
