To expect DH to cover builders bum

EurghRedface · 12/01/2020 22:20

My husband embarrasses me because he refuses to pull up his trousers to hide his builders bum. Approximately 5-7inches of solid crack multiple times a day.

It's been like this since day on of relationship. I ask and he pretends to or pulls his shirt over instead. He has no shame, he doesn't go red or anything. When we have guests they've had to look away in embarrassment also. My family and his have called him out on it. Our kids too.

He says weight and low balls is why he can't pull up his trousers more. Other times he says he has done it or has he hands full or CBA.

Naked he has no bum. No they probably just slide down.

It's really giving me the Ick.

Aibu to expect him to cover it?

@Thetellyisjelly think about it though... how enriched your life would be if you had a partner, you could hunt around the house putting towels down to sit his bare bum on Grin.

EurghRedface · 13/01/2020 15:00

Managedmis - he is not a builder. That is what it is called - a nick name for said issue because a lot of builders suffer with it. Are you joking? I can't tell.

I am hardwork. I say that, I do not deny it. I am a person with ASD and health issues. Prone to fussy eating, sensory issues, awful anxiety and depression, set ways, things must be so etc.

Can you throw away all of his underwear and replace with adult babygrow type underwear? That way he has no choice.

ThePeckOfPickledPeppersPeterPi · 13/01/2020 15:09

I make a huge effort for him. I shave to his requests, get my hair done often, full makeup face, I dress well when we go out and in the house I wear "posh" pjs and makeup. I get my eyebrows done, wax my top lip. I get Botox too. Not all for him no, also for me, but I want to look good and I don't want to embarrass him. Pisses me off he can't do this one damn thing.

Wavered on this one till I saw the above. Fuck that, OP. Anything you for him stops NOW!!!

bongsuhan · 13/01/2020 15:13

If it is his belly, you might want to look at stores with sizes for "big and tall" men, even if he is not especially big or tall. They should (or do here) carry clothing with sizing adjusted for bigger bellies. Jeans / trousers are then e.g. cut with a slant, so that they are slightly longer in the back and have different leg/waist ratios. This makes a huge difference in finding clothes that fit and cover.

@EurghRedface

Lederhosen??

Shock
mencken · 13/01/2020 15:21

argh - read the post about the days of low-rise jeans and thong knickers and am now reminder of all those horrible sights!

in the OP's case, recruit a few mates to comment about where they can park their bike, might do the trick.

whiskersonkittenss · 13/01/2020 15:46

Gross!! Are you my mom, because my dad is exactly like this Envy

squeamishsquamish · 13/01/2020 15:47

My stepdad is like this! It's revolting.

Want2beme · 13/01/2020 15:49

Report him to the police for indecent exposureGrin Maybe they'll pay him a house visit.

Iwannatellyouastory · 13/01/2020 16:08

There are online clothes shops specifically for tall or big men so that you could order for him, he can try them on in the comfort of home and return any that can’t cope with his low hanging plums. My DH buys from them sometimes because he is tall and most long sleeved shirts are too short for him in the arms and other tops are too short in the body, he does not have any arse crack showing though. Wether at work or at home.
He also doesn’t feel the need to tell me his personal preference on my personal grooming.

73Sunglasslover · 13/01/2020 17:17

@73Sunglasslover tuck his shirt in. That would not work for OP and her husbands miles of crack. Yours might be solved by this

Works with shirts but not t-shirts which aren't long enough. I'm going to order a woven elasticated belt on payday like someone else suggested and keep my fingers crossed!

billy1966 · 13/01/2020 17:30

Your poor children OP.

Don't underestimate their mortification.

He sounds revolting.

FrannyHy · 13/01/2020 17:32

I used to work with a chef like this. I cracked an egg into a jug and waited my chance. Then slid it down his butt crack when he was bending a table.

SunshineAvenue · 13/01/2020 17:34

Agree about stopping the shaving. Full on bush and big hairy pits. You might like it so much that you never go back to trimming.

randomchap · 13/01/2020 17:38

Have you considered slapping a waxing strip on his arse everytime he leaves it hanging out?

Equanimitas · 13/01/2020 17:42

He says no where does clothes big enough. He has rugby player thighs and a big belly, he says that he can't find trousers etc big enough to fit over it that don't hang off him below the belly.

Nonsense. The world is full of big men who manage to keep their trousers in place without flashing their bum all the time. Maybe make a habit of pointing them out every time you're out and about and suggesting he asks them what their secret is. At the very least, it might push him into doing something if only so as to shut you up.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 13/01/2020 18:28

My 19 year old DS has a rugby player's build. He also struggles to get trousers to fit his thighs that then fit nicely around his waist, but he's not averse to wearing a belt. He just buys his trousers in M&S because they are a more relaxed fit, and stretch jeans. It's not impossible to find suitable trousers, they may not be the most fashionable but then a hairy arse is more off putting than Man at M&S!

funnelfanjo · 13/01/2020 18:29

He needs to shop at Duluth. They ship internationally. Grin

Thus far is has proved impossible for my OH! He is skinny with not waist and no shape. Plus tall. I'd like to go back to the trouser styles of the 1920's - much high waisted and much nicer looking I think. As well as not causing this issue.

Jente · 13/01/2020 18:42

Tip some of this down his pants

To expect DH to cover builders bum
GiveHerHellFromUs · 13/01/2020 18:43

@73Sunglasslover google 'trousers for tall skinny men'. There's bloody loads. And definitely better than his arse hanging out Envy

Mrshue · 13/01/2020 18:44

@MollysMummy2010

I always think that. Yet they marry these men!

Mrshue · 13/01/2020 18:46

No man will change. We shouldn’t expect people to change

Would you want to be married to someone who thought you were ok. As long as you changed who you were....

I don’t get it
