William's alleged behaviour to blame?

For Harry's departure , as suggested?
Is it all rumour or a genuine possibility in
Your opinion?
Surely William's personal life did not offend Harry so much that he would actually step back from his role and life in the UK?

Just been watching “ The Windsor’s” on C4”. Spoof of the royal family from 2017/18The Meghan and Harry wedding one was interesting to watch back.
More jokes about Kates gypsy heritag than Meghans background. They do take the piss out of Meghan's California ethos. Meghan was spouting of something spirtitual and Pippa ( she’s proper evil in the series ) says “ yes, talk like that more, the British love it’ .

Wish they would do another series. Although they can’t come up with a show more outlandish than the reality I’d imagine.

Quartz2208 · 12/01/2020 21:14

Apart from Harry isnt giving up a career which is also part of the problem. He really isnt giving up anything that has made him happy but instead might be able to get what he has always wanted a more normal life.

His army friends seem to be supportive of this move which is telling.

Bluerussian · 12/01/2020 21:16

I didn't know any member of the royal family had abused children! I learn something every day on Mumsnet.

I do wish people would stop speculating about Meghan and Harry leaving the UK to start a new life elsewhere. All I read is hearsay, it's ridiculous. Also not fair to those involved.

greenlavender · 12/01/2020 21:21

@HazelBite - and yet here you are

Rosebel · 12/01/2020 21:23

Wineiscooling your post is brilliant. I do feel sorry for Meghan and Harry. They have got bad press for no reason but Andrew's disgusting behaviour and William having an affair is fine.
World's gone mad!

Elbeagle · 12/01/2020 21:25

Dreadful bossy female

Is this a serious comment?

yolofish · 12/01/2020 21:29

The fuss as you describe it catinthedaytime is not necessarily about what they want to do, but how they did it and what they expect to happen.

So people seem to generally be pissed off that H&M sprung their announcement on the world; and that they want to cherrypick the nice bits of being Royal (the fame, the tours of the Commonwealth) without doing the boring bits. And also, of course, to have press coverage on their own terms.

PanicAndRun · 12/01/2020 21:29

what kind of world are we living in when people froth more about someone wanting to not have the paps on their doorstep 24/7, than over someone who may well be a sex offender having allegedly exploited his position to coerce vulnerable girls?

A world where the woman is always to blame and rape myths are kept alive to protect the perpetrator?

Biscuitsdisappear · 12/01/2020 21:29

If he is so keen on moving out of the limelight then all that he has to do is abdicate and give up all his generous allowances from the tax payer. He is already a wealthy man in his own right and he will be entitled to a pension from the army so he should be financially viable. He certainly won't have to stack shelves in a supermarket.

LuluJakey1 · 12/01/2020 21:30

If they want to go, they can go. The decision is theirs. However, there is no half-way house. If they want financial independence and to live in another country and to not be senior members of the Royal Family, that is fine. Then they must not expect to be supported in any way by the Crown Estates- that would include keeping Frogmore Cottage, Having their office and staff paid for by the Crown Estates, having money from the Duchy of Cornwall, and the British public paying £600,000 a year for their security protection officers. All of that would have to stop. They are in or they are out.
In addition she should hand back the HRH - to keep it would be laughable. Her British Citizenship application should be refused- she does not wish to be a British citizen or to live here.

They can't be taking millions in sponsorship from car companies, jewellery companies, Disney and then appearing at Royal patronage events driving the cars, wearing the jewellery and with Archie carrying the toys. Can't cross those boundaries. Next we'll be having a Sussexes version of The Kardashions.

nachthexe · 12/01/2020 21:30

That mawkish blethering keeps being reposted. It reads like a scene from bloody four weddings and a funeral with Hugh Grant chasing yet another American.
Bleurgh.
Bleurgh.
Bleurgh.
Every time I see it I get flashbacks to her dreadful teeth (soon fixed) in the rain, or Meghan’s freakishly similar facial expression as she did ‘more adoration, darling, you can’t live without him, show it, show it’ during the engagement photo shoot.
Was Carrie wearing stockings?
Bleurgh.

Katjolo · 12/01/2020 21:33

Meanwhile filthy Prince Andrew gets away with his disgraceful behaviour

Queenest · 12/01/2020 21:36

wineiscooling is right.

They do not deserve all this crap. I am not surprised they want to escape to Canada. They have been driven away.

Quartz2208 · 12/01/2020 21:39

Her British Citizenship application should be refused

Hell no refusing someone citizenship when they are married to a british citizen would be an absolute disaster as it would create an incredibly dangerous precedent

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 12/01/2020 21:43

They are not moving out of the limelight, they are changing to the US limelight where they can set the terms, earn millions for interviews, book deals and speeches, sell Royal Sussex tableware and where Meghan can be a fashion designer or actress or whatever she wants.

They will hang out with Oprah and the Obama’s and the Clinton’s, and the Clooney

I can see this making sense for her. She will be adored as “the American Princess” and make so much money and hang out with the A listers

But it seems odd that Harry is buying into this, and telling his gran to pretty much go screw herself.

In a way I am in awe of her simple effective business plan and her complete disregard and lack of respect for the RF.

But it is Harry’s whole family, and cutting off your entire family may be something he might regret in future. It is a big price to pay for him.... or maybe a lucky escape?

PortiaCastis · 12/01/2020 21:44

What a lot of bollocks

Justanotherlurker · 12/01/2020 21:45

We have had recent video proof of a recent feminist icon sitting back wanting her husband to use his privileged to get her a job (disney), i think anyone this deep into the who is to blame just reads gossip shite.

I am bewildered why this has become the new culture war.

BeardedMum · 12/01/2020 21:46

Just surprised MM did not walk away from this toxic country before.

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 12/01/2020 21:46

Quarzz2208, what?

Citizenship is nothing to do with the nationality of the partner

Theresa May changed that, nobody can get citizenship through marrying a Brit anymore

Jenzenn · 12/01/2020 21:47

@TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead

And she has form for this does she? You have reason to believe this is in her character because of what exactly? It’s just bollocks.

SympatheticSwan · 12/01/2020 21:48

Hell no refusing someone citizenship when they are married to a british citizen would be an absolute disaster as it would create an incredibly dangerous precedent
Are you serious? It happens left right and centre.

CripsSandwiches · 12/01/2020 21:49

God why speculate? Harry and Meghan were under enormous pressure. Look at all the threads on here and you'll see how sensitive people are to comments from family/strangers/colleagues etc. especially when they've just had a baby. They were being constantly attacked in the media, photos editted in an unflattering light and god knows what going on behind their scenes with their family who are also their work colleagues. God knows what happened. Let the poor people have some peace.

PanicAndRun · 12/01/2020 21:49

Tbh just the association with prince Andrew would be enough to go no contact as she would be advised to do if she posted on MN.

StarShapedWindow · 12/01/2020 21:51

Why does everyone say Prince Andrew ‘got away with it’? We all know he’s a filthy bastard and the case hasn’t gone away - what hasn’t happened that should have?

Also I really like Megan and Harry, I love Megan’s strength and think they’re right to live where they feel happy but I do find it hard to ignore the fact that over 2 million pounds of public money has been spent on a house that won’t get lived in - I know people who don’t have enough money to put carpet on their floors so I do find the amount of public money being spent on one small family of three without giving anything back to the public a hard pill to swallow.

doritosdip · 12/01/2020 21:53

Has Prince Andrew spoken to the FBI or is he saying that he will only speak to them if legal counsel suggests it? Unlike Weinstein he's unlikely to see a court room
