To think this is selfish and unfair behaviour?

Freezing cold day, rainy and windy, and two guys are standing IN the bus shelter smoking.. Which means I have to stand outside because I have a bad cold/chest and don't want to breathe it in.. I can't stand the smell, it's repulsive.. I don't want to end up smelling of smoke, which is what happens.

AIBU to think it is selfish and unfair behaviour on their part?

I think like me, Gnomies just looks at 'threads I'm on' every so often.

Spot on @StrangeLookingParasite. I was just checking in, between my bouts of crying over being so sad and lonely ;).

*But since it’s just a “bad cold”, no one cares about the immune compromised. It’s ok to risk their lives.

Funny old world isn’t it?*

Not really. It's just an example of Utilitarianism (I think). Current situation whereby it's not socially OK to hang around in public spaces if you have Ebola, but it is socially OK if you have a cold (and other mild but potentially contagious diseases) as long as you make a reasonable effort to cover your mouth when you cough, and wash your hands frequently, still results in a fairly large fraction of the immunocompromised population suffering some episodes of more severe illness and X number of these will die every year as a result of this social "policy".

Proposed extreme situation: everyone who thinks they may be starting a cold, a skin rash or D+/V+ of any duration or severity, for any reason (even if they think but cannot prove that their symptoms are those of non contagious disease eg rash due to contact allergy, D+ due to period cramps) or has been in contact with anyone showing symptoms of contagious disease, must quarantine themselves in their house till several days after any symptoms have completely cleared up.
Result- fewer immunocompromised people die of contagious disease but the economy grinds to a halt, large swathes of the population are plunged into poverty and >>X die of poverty related illness. Also, as the economy goes to fuck there is no NHS money available to care for immunocompromised people properly, and >X of these die due to infections caused by overgrowth of commensal organisms, cancer, uncontrolled endocrine disease, etc.

YANBU. You should have reported it. Although I'm not sure if they would/could do much about it.

I think Retroflex must be a bored troll. Surely nobody comes up with that much inane, irrelevant bollocks without a wealth of experience to draw from.
