Just that really. OK so I know I will get told to focus on my own life and that I'm jealous etc I do actually like watching Holly on TV but I can't help hut think she constantly lands on her feet, I know no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors but she is genuinely happy, I don't think you could fake that everyday! She's super rich, seems to have a nice husband and family life, no money struggles wondering how she is going to pay a bill, always getting new job roles, I don't understand how every area in her life can be so perfect. Over the years I have watched this morning whilst going through phases of being so poor and now a marriage breakup, so I understand you will think its my own issues why I feel like this but I'm just wondering how people go through life getting good things thrown at them and some have shit. Yes she works hard hut don't we all she just got lucky yo be working on TV which not everyone has the chance to do to warn millions

Also it’s like singers. I’m sorry but that’s often down to being in the right place at the right time.

I think Adele for example, would have always been discovered, because she has an incredible voice, however there are many others that are good, however they aren’t world class. Just happened to be seen by someone in power.

There are plenty of buskers I’ve seen in my time that can sing far better than many famous singers, but they’ll never get a record deal as they simply aren’t lucky enough.... ie right place right time

AfterSchoolWorry · 11/01/2020 10:34

So it is dogsdinnerlady 🤦🏻‍♀

Looobyloo · 11/01/2020 10:35

There will always be people who are luckier in life than others. I know people like this and yes I've been a little jealous I must admit. But I try and count my blessings I have savings, work, a roof over my head, and a family.

I also don't like the whole ' work hard and you'll be fine shit' I know people in minimum wage jobs who work very hard and they struggle.

Look on the bright side OP, you don't have to work with Philip Schofield every day!

jellybeanteaparty · 11/01/2020 10:37

The comment you always fall on your feet ( some have said this about HW on this thread) irks me as it appears resentful and that the person has been passive. A friend once defended that commented said to me with " to land on your feet you have to jump" perhaps HW has been prepared to jump a bit and take risks

Scarylady · 11/01/2020 10:38

@zoobincan did you get up on the wrong side or the bed this morning? You raised a point, I didn’t say you was wrong I just said with the intent of discussion that I had a different view and asked if you could explain yours and you’ve done nothing but come back sarcastic responses and being unwilling to justify your opinion.

I assumed all the prep was done before the show started and that’s why she gets up early and then they do little bit more after the show comes off air.

zoobincan · 11/01/2020 10:41

did you get up on the wrong side or the bed this morning?

No.

You raised a point,

I didn't. I responded to the OP saying HW had a 'nice' family life.

I didn’t say you was wrong I just said with the intent of discussion that I had a different view and asked if you could explain yours and you’ve done nothing but come back sarcastic responses and being unwilling to justify your opinion.

I didn't think I had to explain that HW does more than one show. I wasn't being sarcastic I just feel that you could easily find this information out yourself and I am not here to google it for you.

LEELULUMPKIN · 11/01/2020 10:44

I bet she hasn't got a penis beaker :)

ParadiseP · 11/01/2020 10:45

Her dh reportedly attended The President Club's 'men only' fund raiser at the Dorchester where female hostesses were groped. I'm not suggesting he did anything wrong but to be the sort of person who goes to men only events with the likes of serial sexter Vernon kay doesn't sound great.

HW does seem genuine and nice on screen. Phil Schofield drags her down a bit, imo she needs someone new or else she'll be saddled with him forever.

DickDewy · 11/01/2020 10:45

I don’t know what people expect of her? She presents a magazine show, not Newsnight. I think she does it perfectly well.

Her husband is not a looker. So she doesn’t have it all. Grin

katewhinesalot · 11/01/2020 10:48

She might be worried sick about her children's anxieties, relatives health, recent bereavement, her own anxieties. There are pressures to look and act a certain way that us mere mortals wouldn't understand.

Yes she might be wonderfully happy. She might not. We don't know.

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 11/01/2020 10:57

OP-set the bar a bit higher re reasons to be envious.

Landing232 · 11/01/2020 11:00

I am happy for her etc I think it's just her happiness I want of being so smiley etc she doesn't put it on I feel like, if I'd have argued with my husband or something like that I feel like I wouldn't be able to truly look happy on screen it would show slightly whereas she is just looks truly happy, it's not about having it all but more about being a happy person and that's my problem I'm just saying I'd like to be like that

StuckBetweenDarknessAndLight · 11/01/2020 11:01

Interesting about the stolen car story. I'd been wondering what the Daily Mail had on her.

TravellingSpoon · 11/01/2020 11:04

She has nice hair.

MsMellivora · 11/01/2020 11:05

I’m actually the opposite to you. I was close to death a few years ago with an illness that developed. I’m under treatment and will be till the day I drop off this mortal coil and I’m grateful to be alive. I also had two very close bereavements within three months of each other and the stress and upset made a lot of my hair fall out.

When I see anyone who looks really happy in real life or even a celeb I feel really pleased. In my darkest hours what got me through was thinking of my friend at schools sister who died aged 17. She was two years older than me and we all sang in the same church choir. I used to think as much as this is horrific pain at least I can feel pain and as much as my life is shit poor Sarah (not her real name) didn’t even get the chance to have the bad bits.

Life is a series of things that happen and we are not the masters of our own destiny at all though we can try. I’m sorry you are having a bad time. Try and focus on one thing that brings you a good feeling. I’m now one of those crazy old ladies that smiles at babies in prams, they always smile back, I look up through the branches of trees. I know this is all a bit Pollyanna but it helps me.

Nearlyalmost50 · 11/01/2020 11:07

Landing she's acting, that's her job. She does it really well, but all the presenters do it- that's what she's paid for, to look happy and upbeat and show interest in her guests and the content even if she is tired, had a row with hubby, worried about kids and bored silly with her interviewees.

It's great that you can identify why you envy her- what would make you happier?

Happygirl79 · 11/01/2020 11:11

Holly may appear to have it all but she must work incredibly hard
Getting up so early each morning can't be a barrel of laughs
She must be exhausted
She won't have the time with her family she would want either
Would I want her life?
No.

CosmoK · 11/01/2020 11:15

Comparison is the thief of joy ...as this thread perfectly demonstrates.

MysweetAudrina · 11/01/2020 11:17

I feel I have it all. I am grateful for every part of my life. My life is far from Holly Willoughby's buy it is my life and I own it and am thankful every day for it.

lalafafa · 11/01/2020 11:21

Her husband is well known to be controlling and abusive with her.

lovemenorca · 11/01/2020 11:36

Not read thread so sorry if covered

  1. Remember that story a few years back. She’s rung the police in middle of night as thought car stolen but turned out husband was driving it.
Clearly a huge barmy!
  1. About 12 years ago I was in a bar off high street ken. Walked in to toilets, pushed open a door and her and friend taking coke. Not quite the “Holly” image!
Sarahandco · 11/01/2020 11:37

I am sure it has been a mixture or Luck, being in the right place at the right time, hard work and some good decision making. Good luck to her, I am sure she has problems to deal with just like everyone else, maybe not financial problems, but they are not the only ones that people suffer.

Only a minority of people earn millions, don't be jealous, just make the very best of what life presents you.

BrieAndChilli · 11/01/2020 11:38

She does seem to lead the ideal life, a job that seems fun, interviewing people, being styled, great looks and figure, lots of money, lovely family, gets to go to awards shows and celebrity parties and events, group of close celebrity friends, etc etc I’m pretty sure most of us would love her life!
But I’m also pretty sure it isn’t without it’s bad points, she probably has many days she doesn’t see her kids, someone else is teaching them to read and rubbing their bumped knees and listening to thier stories. Having such a charmed life does cost - a large multimillion house costs a bomb to run I imagine, Cleaners and nannies etc plus the cost of hair and make up and treatments and personal trainer and all the clothes - she must feel immense pressure to keep the high paying jobs coming in in order to keep paying for it all.
Then there’s the constant scrutiny. Imagine knowing that everything you do/say/eat/wear is constantly analysed and commented on! Enough to give anyone a complex. Plus I’m celebrity land experience only goes so far, there will come a time when she is too old and not relevant enough to get the top paying jobs. At least in most other careers you keep climbing rather than an quick ascent, a bit of a walk along the ridge and then a quick avalanche back down to the bottom!!

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 11/01/2020 11:39

She's got a terrible pelvic floor. That horrible Phil keeps trying to make her piss herself live on tv, like an utter dickhead.

Holly, if you're reading this - FFS, get yourself along to the physio, love.

Mrsjayy · 11/01/2020 11:41

She does celebrity juice which is vulgar mysogonistic twaddle does that not put you off her ? I also read she isn't particularly pleasant, soher veneer is she "has it all" but...
