On a date with a lovely fella who is a good cook. We've been out before and had a fab time.

Just been presented with a plate of steak and the smell of it is turning my stomach. There's no way I can eat it.

He's in the kitchen (faffing). No pets about to slip it to... Should I shove it in my bag?

Coming back, beb

Enjoy the toast, then cuddle up on the sofa and have a good giggle about the whole thing. No harm done.

JockTamsonsBairns · 10/01/2020 20:04

So it's either off steak, or popping out to the shop to get bread to make toast?
I'm afraid I'd be a bit pissed off with you being on your phone throughout the evening too, even if it was just when he went into the kitchen. Is his kitchen a distance away from where you were sitting? I would've expected conversation to continue, but maybe that wasn't possible if the kitchen is at the other side of the house.

Thinkingabout1t · 10/01/2020 20:06

Say you’re feeling unwell and think you‘re going down with a virus?
Good luck xx

QuestionableMouse · 10/01/2020 20:06

He offered to order Chinese but I just couldn't face it.

The steak came from the local butcher today so should have been fine.

I wouldn't worry about the next date as he will probably have been put off by you being on your phone.

BlueCornsihPixie · 10/01/2020 20:10

The steak smelt so bad you couldnt stomach it

You knew it was off ffs! Why on earth did you eat it?

It smelt so bad that you took one bite and threw up? Fgs not just gag but actually have to run to the toilet to be sick?

To the people questioning toast, I don't think I would fancy a takeaway if I'd just thrown up!

ry

Nicknacky · 10/01/2020 20:13

Seriously, put your phone away.

crackofdoom · 10/01/2020 20:14

Fucks sake, message him to get some chocolate ice cream while he's out, clean your teeth, jump him the minute he gets in the door, have vigorous sex all evening, then eat the ice cream in bed together. There, fixed Grin.

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/01/2020 20:16

Snot crying is almost as bad as screaming at the Michelangelo 🤣🤣

Guiltypleasures001 · 10/01/2020 20:21

I think Mumsnet Classics Grin

vikkimoog · 10/01/2020 20:24

so you're with a relatively new bloke ( i assume) on your 'phone whilst eating and now throwing up / crying and still on your 'phone?
yeah, funny story...

justasking111 · 10/01/2020 20:25

Oh you poor thing. He will have to speak to the butcher. You can laugh about it one day.

BrutusMcDogface · 10/01/2020 20:26
Hmm
mumwon · 10/01/2020 20:35

I wonder if he has got horse meat or he hasn't kept it in fridge (maybe he bought it at lunch time?) cut a few bits off & place in hand bag or down your bra & tell him it was really nice.

SunshineCake · 10/01/2020 20:41

Blimey if this is worthy of classics, standards really have slipped.

As for crying when sick it isn't usually the same as crying crying. It's eyes leaking involuntary crying.

DickDewy · 10/01/2020 20:42

Blimey if this is worthy of classics, standards really have slipped.

Exactly.

Rabblemum · 10/01/2020 20:42

They shop assistants chew gum and mutter under their breath about how your top doesn’t match Your trousers.

CassidyStone · 10/01/2020 20:45

@Rabblemum you what now?

motortroll · 10/01/2020 20:47

I also cry a lot when vomiting. I'm
Sure it's not that unusual lol

Glad you got it sorted, you can laugh about it next time 😉

Eh?

Happinessinapeartree · 10/01/2020 20:52

Don't eat it! You could end up sick, which could be worse if the night turns frisky

LadyMcLokington · 10/01/2020 20:53

I reckon you two will be each other’s “lobster” now, and look back on this one day and laugh, OP 😉

UnderTheButtNutHut · 10/01/2020 20:55

To be fair to OP, I cry every time I vomit too. I don't want to but I do. It's weird.

Thestrangestthing · 10/01/2020 20:56

On a date with a lovely fella who is a good cook

I read that as, "On a date with a lovely fella who has a good cock" 😂🤦‍♀️
