Ok ok, we've had loads of threads. I accept their decision to want to resign from public duties - always though Harry might do that ...

BUT ... why should we pay for them? How come they get to keep Frogmore cottage, which WE the tax payer have paid for? And we have just paid over 2 million for them to renovate it???

If they want to go their seperate ways from Royal duties, FINE...... BUT , if they do that, they surely should relinquish the perks (i.e. the house, cars, money that comes with the job) and do what the rest of us do - earn their own.

Good god, with everything going on around the world this is the top news story everywhere! People really need to get a life and realise that one Prince, who will never even make it to the throne, is well within his rights to live his life as he wants, as is his wife, who BTW had her own money before she met him. H&M have no idea about the real world

I'm like a broken record at this stage but they don't live in the real world. They live in a very get different world to you or me. Everything they do is scrutinised. Every single day there is another story about them in multiple papers. Their lives aren't their own. They can't do right for doing wrong. Everyone has an opinion without actually really knowing anything about them.

Imagine living that life. Every single day. Every waking minute.

Meghan has only been involved witb the Royal family for a few years. Before that she DID live in the real world. She worked. She earned her own money. She made her own decisions and the papers, and keyboard warriors didn't feel the need to rip them apart.

Why does this bother so many people? When I decided to move out of home and spread my wings and become independent, I knew I still had the support of my family. I'm sure everyone here will also encourage and support their children in becoming independent. Yet when Harry says he's going to move away people are baying for blood and saying he better be totally cut off!

It's ridiculous.

Meghan is not a U.K. citizen. It takes five years from date of marriage and you have to reside in the UK the whole time except for holidays. So the earliest she can naturalise would be May 2023
