When your DC’s friends come over, do you let them connect to your home WiFi?

DC’s are 12.

Why wouldnt I?
It's not like it costs you more
What possible objection do you have?

northernlittledonkey · 30/12/2019 17:32

Yes, why wouldn’t you?

Russell19 · 30/12/2019 17:32

My DC isnt old enough yet but when they are yes.... I would without hesitation. Why are you doubtful?

Do you let your adult friends/family have your password when they come round?

MimiCaeger · 30/12/2019 17:33

Yes especially if they’re playing on phones etc

Stressedout10 · 30/12/2019 17:33

No as I don't have parental controls on the wifi (just on dcs devices)

MRex · 30/12/2019 17:34

You haven't specified the voting. Presumably you think they shouldn't have the password, so YABU.

Bunnybigears · 30/12/2019 17:35

Yes and my DS has the wifi passwords of all his friends houses as well.

EC22 · 30/12/2019 17:36

Yes.

Raspberrytruffle · 30/12/2019 17:44

Yes of course I'm not that tight, I'd only consider not giving it if they were neighbor's and at risk of being cf and permanently using it at my cost Smile

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 30/12/2019 17:45

Yes but we have a guest network that has all the parental restrictions/limits going on it.

ThunderboltandLightning · 30/12/2019 17:46

We have a guest network for them. Occasionally our neighbours guest join it, they get blocked via our mesh system.

AveEldon · 30/12/2019 17:46

We have a separate guest network for visitors/babysitters/kids mates

MamToTeens · 30/12/2019 17:46

I’d rather they didn’t, but both of mine can just tell their friends anyway. Maybe I’d be less willing if we didn’t have unlimited WiFi though.

BeyondMyWits · 30/12/2019 17:47

not as such.

I will type in the password for them, they don't get free access to any passwords. Kids don't either, that way we know what devices they are putting on there.

SavageBeauty73 · 30/12/2019 17:47

Course.

IpanemaGallina · 30/12/2019 17:49

Yes. We always have dd’s teen friends coming and going.

bettybattenburg · 30/12/2019 17:49

Yes. We have parental controls on the router so there's no reason why not.

JoGose · 30/12/2019 17:50

They aren’t old enough yet but when the tile comes I will

Iwantacookie · 30/12/2019 17:50

Yes and they do at their friends houses too.

MamaGee09 · 30/12/2019 17:50

Friends yes, neighbours no

Gatehouse77 · 30/12/2019 17:52

We have a guest WiFi code and one for family.

TantricTwist · 30/12/2019 17:53

Yes of course

PegasusReturns · 30/12/2019 17:54

Yes.

What are the reasons you wouldn’t?!

Frariedeamin · 30/12/2019 17:56

Yes. Like other posters we have a guests network and operate a white list of pre-approved websites for the DCs age.

MyDcAreMarvel · 30/12/2019 17:56

Yes.
