Gift bags. They’re just a bit naff aren’t they?

A bit Clinton cards, Facebook, live laugh love.

A gift bag user would have guilty pleasures and definitely not give head.

(Plus they’re bad for the environment of course)

Indoor scarves? Saves putting the heating on. I love an indoor scarf.

NobJobWinker · 30/12/2019 15:55

I'm also a serial gift bag recycler

MN is hilarious sometimes. It amazes me that anyone can attach a value judgement to something as mundane as what you put a gift inside Grin

katewhinesalot · 30/12/2019 15:56

One gives gift bags when appropriate. What is this gives head business? Do you mean a gift bag featuring heads such as Mr Donald Trump? or our own dear Queen?

MereDintofPandiculation · 30/12/2019 15:56

I re-use wrapping paper, I use paper gift bags for people who can be trusted to return them, and I love receiving those Amazon net drawstring bags because I can use them for all sorts of other things, like keeping my shoe cleaning kit in, or my clothes pegs. (I only give gifts to family - if I give to someone outside the family, they get new wrapping paper.)

OkayGo · 30/12/2019 15:56

This thread says more about you than it does them

IncrediblySadToo · 30/12/2019 15:58

My name is IncrediblySadToo and I use Gift bags 🛍AFTER wrapping the presents 🎁

I do not write LOL or Should of
I do not use next
I do not use Facebook

I do, however, give exceptionally good head - or so I’ve been told!

Fucking stupid thread

SecretWitch · 30/12/2019 16:00

I did not wrap a single present this year, they all went into reusable gift bags. I simply cannot waste hours of time wrapping when the recipient will rip that shit off and toss it away..

Just so you know, I Am the blowjob queen.

AvaSnowdrop · 30/12/2019 16:01

I don’t remember ever buying a gift bag, I always recycle ones I’ve received. I never write on the tag because I assume the recipient will reuse it!

VanGoghsDog · 30/12/2019 16:01

Well, this year loads of my gifts were in bags as I am lazy and I don't iron. I even made the tags by cutting out bits from last year's Christmas cards!
The one that had a tag on that had already been used I just stuck an address label over it and wrote the new name on.

Noone seems to care.

I don't have wall decals in my house. Nor do I go to Clinton's. No idea if I give good head, as men always say "never had any complaints".

Laiste · 30/12/2019 16:01

I weave our gift bags from hair combed from the soft underbelly of our cat.

draughtycatflap · 30/12/2019 16:04

I love a gift bag. I can take a quick peek and if I don’t like what is inside I can swing it by the handles right upside the giver’s head. Full momentum. They don’t even see it coming.

Sparklesocks · 30/12/2019 16:06

I have no strong feelings either way!
In theory you could say they’re actually alright for the environment as people I know always re-use them for other gifts. I don’t think I’ve bought one in years Grin

DowntownAbby · 30/12/2019 16:06

I take it you've been drinking heavily @AnnDaloozier

Your post and your point makes no sense.

Paper manufacture 'wasteful'? It's completely reusable, recyclable and renewable.

If we didn't use paper in its various guises for packaging, we'd be using plastic instead.

squeekums · 30/12/2019 16:08

I think i need to break out the vodka for this to make sense.....

Ilovemypantry · 30/12/2019 16:09

What a weird and boring post 💤

jaguar67 · 30/12/2019 16:09

I re-use any gift bag, gift box .., well any box actually - why the hell would you not?

Standard practice on both sides of family - record being with one gift box that has to be 40 years old (damned nice silvery shiny too) ! Greta would be proud Smile

katewhinesalot · 30/12/2019 16:13

Giving head

Gift bags. They’re just a bit naff aren’t they?
FestiveFavourites · 30/12/2019 16:20

Sneering snobbery is never attractive. A nicely recycled giftbag containing a bottle of Aber Falls Marmalade Gin is superb.

Take your twatty bag user insults and try not to be so ridiculously judgemental about things no-one else gives a second thought to.

TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2019 16:25

Surely better for the environment than those plastic bows and ribbons.

I just buy my gifts on the sort of shops that wrap for you Wink

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 30/12/2019 16:28

I keep any gift bags I get and re-use them - I don't think I have bought a new one for about 20 years. Much better for the environment than wrapping paper, which is difficult to reuse without a lot of waste. Also, you don't need sellotape or any other plastic-based tape, ribbons, rosettes etc - just pop the gift in the bag and it's perfectly presentable and festive.

Egghead68 · 30/12/2019 16:29

Do people still say naff?

tttigress · 30/12/2019 16:31

Another one for gift bags are good for the environment

darndifino · 30/12/2019 16:33

It's common in Japan to use fabric

Yes, but what fabric! Silks with amazing prints on, and the like. That isn't the sort of fabric I have lying around handy Grin

HarrietThePi · 30/12/2019 16:34

I never buy gift bags but I love getting them because I reuse them. I thought most people did the same. I take off the name tag if it's been written in and don't have one.

Ginfordinner · 30/12/2019 16:39

Paper manufacture 'wasteful'? It's completely reusable, recyclable and renewable.

Apparently most gift-wrap paper isn't recyclable. I would use it if it labelled as recyclable, but in our house we have been re-using the same gift bags for many years now.
