Gift bags. They’re just a bit naff aren’t they?

A bit Clinton cards, Facebook, live laugh love.

A gift bag user would have guilty pleasures and definitely not give head.

(Plus they’re bad for the environment of course)

@DinkyDaisy I dunno about gift bags, but you are beyond the pale for referring to "diddy presents".

FOTTFSOFTFOASM · 30/12/2019 15:38

@T0tallyFuckedUpFamily You do know that plaiting is all Freudian, don't you? It all fits together very well.

Radardodgingninga · 30/12/2019 15:38

If using gift bags means I will never be expected to give or receive oral sex again I will buy a lifetime supply immediately. I bloody hate it (luckily so does my current husband).

NewName73 · 30/12/2019 15:40

I have not bought wrapping paper for over 5 years and have a good array of gift bags which I have been given, some of which have been reused several times.

They are much more eco-friendly than wrapping paper - especially the glittery shit which cannot be recycled.

whatnow40 · 30/12/2019 15:41

I use gift bags and tissue as I have a disability and struggle with painful hands and wrapping. I also have some fabric gift bags care of Amazon that get used and reused within the family. Ikea have some great gift tags that match any colour of gift bag.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 30/12/2019 15:41

I don't mind a gift bag. I got presents from my mum in gift bags, gave them back to her to use next year. She got them from my brother last year. Take the tag off and put a new one on. Don't see a problem at all and it seems a bit daft to call them chavvy or whatever.

ChocolateCoins19 · 30/12/2019 15:41

I wrap and use a bag depending on the person..
I rarely recieve them.

I also iron lol

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 30/12/2019 15:42

Ohhh! I never made that connection FOTTFSOFTFOASM. Isn’t the subconscious a funny thing. ^writes gift voucher on rock and throws to FOTTFSOFTFOASM*

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 30/12/2019 15:42

Also l sew and many of my sewing friends made fabric bags to use this year. It's common in Japan to use fabric.

bigbubbles · 30/12/2019 15:42

diddy presents

You put your breasts in a gift bag? For whom?

diddy (plural diddies) (slang) A woman's breast. (informal, Ireland, Britain) A fool, a tit.

Lalaberries · 30/12/2019 15:43

Wow scraping the barrel for things to be snobbish about Hmm

Lily193 · 30/12/2019 15:43

Horrified to think what kind of person actually uses the word 'naff'.

SusanneLinder · 30/12/2019 15:43

I use gift bags, and then re-use. I hate Next Directory btw.

AutumnRose1 · 30/12/2019 15:44

Are you on glue?

WonderfulAngel · 30/12/2019 15:45

ive certainly noticed that people who aren't so skilled at giving head are mean when it comes to gift giving so your hypothesis about gift bags is very plausible, dont know if its some sort of causal link

DinkyDaisy · 30/12/2019 15:45

Mmm- thought I was being a bit twee when I said diddy as well!
I shall relish in my general twiddle de dee ness!!
Grin

DinkyDaisy · 30/12/2019 15:45

Never knew diddy meant that- ah well...

Bluerussian · 30/12/2019 15:46

I think they're OK, you can put a few things in them (I tend to wrap those in tissue), and they can be reused which must be environmentally friendly. I used more this year than in previous years and some of them were not new but looked new, same with bottle bags.

It's not that I can't be bothered to wrap - honestly Shock. I would be quite happy to put a few things in a box and wrap that but don't always have boxes of the right size.

FOTTFSOFTFOASM · 30/12/2019 15:47

@T0tallyFuckedUpFamily

Disfordarkchocolate · 30/12/2019 15:48

I use gift bags so they can be reused again and again, they only get discarded when damaged. I even reuse any tissue paper used to cover the present. Ooh, so much pointless judging from the OP here.

Nicolastuffedone · 30/12/2019 15:49

Reuse gift bags. Iron everything

Leflic · 30/12/2019 15:50

Everyone uses gift bags though din’t they?

For bottles, odd shaped presents, expensive but tiny gifts, for where you have two or three things....

Always get reused too. Once to friends and the the more battered ones to my family who couldn’t care less.

Wildthyme · 30/12/2019 15:50

Are you the bawbag who hates "indoor scarves", OP? Similar sneery writing style.

So edgy, so above it all.

AfterSchoolWorry · 30/12/2019 15:51

I only buy gifts that fit in gift bags! I hate wrapping shit, life's too short.

Purpletigers · 30/12/2019 15:51

Are you drunk ?
