AIBU to ask for suggestions for running leggings?

Sorry for putting this in AIBU but when I wanted advice for sports bras you all came through. I should also apologise for calling them running leggings but I can’t remember their proper name. I’ve got one pair and at the moment I’m using and washing but I need a new pair. Every pair I seem to get falls down when I’m running.

I would get a new pair from the site I bought the first pair but I don’t like any of their new styles!

I absolutely love the Zero Gravity leggings from Sweaty Betty. Bit pricey but they’re often on sale (including at the moment I believe!)

Expressedways · 28/12/2019 23:46

Yes to Sweaty Betty zero gravity. They’re tons better than any of Lululemons I’ve tried and an added perk is that they really do make your bottom look fantastic. I haven’t tested it personally but a good friend reckons they even stand up to marathon running.

TheWoodsareDarkandDeep · 28/12/2019 23:47

Lucy locket loves are wonderful

Shenanagins · 28/12/2019 23:48

I got ones from Nike and they are fab, trained and ran a marathon in them and there was no rubbing. I should add that I’m quite short and they fitted well.

Rememberfluffthecat · 28/12/2019 23:51

Tikiboo’s are fantastic if you like a bit of novelty

HoneysuckIejasmine · 28/12/2019 23:54

I like sugar pocket. Cheap a cheerful, wide variety of designs.

Ronnie27 · 28/12/2019 23:57

All leggings seem to fall down and or feel restrictive on me too, it’s shorts for running here! If it’s cold I wear gloves! Grin

RachelEllenR · 29/12/2019 07:58

My favourites are tikiboos and under armour.

confusedandemployed · 29/12/2019 08:05

Sturdy by Design. There's 20% off with the code BOXING today too.

Areyoufree · 29/12/2019 08:06

Slight derail here, but what’s the sizing like for Sweaty Betty? TTS? Long? Short?

Ineedanamechange79 · 29/12/2019 08:08

Tikiboo or sturdy by design, both fab. I have a small bum and thick waist so have major issues with leggings that fall down. Both of these stay up brilliantly.

cobwebsoncornices · 29/12/2019 08:08

My favourites are still my cheapo pair from Decathlon. I only do up to 10k and am peat shaped which may make a difference.

Greenteandchives · 29/12/2019 08:09

I recommend Under Armour or Nike.
The drawstring is the essential bit to prevent them slipping down.

Runningonempty84 · 29/12/2019 08:11

Ronhill or Inov8s are the best for "proper" running IME. But I also have some decent ones from Decathlon for shorter runs.

OlaEliza · 29/12/2019 08:25

I really like h&m's winter ones. Cheap and cheerful and does the job.

RiojaHaze · 29/12/2019 08:29

@Areyoufree I'm 5' 4 and I have to roll normal length sweaty Betty's up an inch or two or they are baggy round my ankles so I find the 7/8 length better. Same with LuluLemons.

Katkincake · 29/12/2019 08:30

I also recommend LucyLocketLoves and Tikiboo. They are only ones that will stay up around my fat arse! Plus the designs are fab and the fabric so soft. Got a bonus unicorn pen sent with some LLL ones once too Grin

Runssometimes · 29/12/2019 08:31

Zero Gravity by Sweaty Betty, sale on at the moment. There’s a lot of give in them so don’t size up, they do 7/8 lengths too if you are vertically challenged.

Areyoufree · 29/12/2019 08:32

@RiojaHaze Perfect - thank you! I’m a similar height, so shall follow suit!

AliceAbsolum · 29/12/2019 08:35

It's not about the brand it's the style for your body shape (FYI they're called running tights).
Either get them a size up and pull them above your belly button, or do what I do and get ones with a drawstring. Then you can tighten them and they won't slip down.

EZA15 · 29/12/2019 12:24

Thank you everyone! There seems to be a couple of clear winners.

AliceAbsolum I did know, honestly - for some reason I just couldn’t think of it in the moment I posted the thread!

I love my Decathlon ones (“run warm”). But they are cheap so you may be looking for something more fancy.

Hidingfromhim · 29/12/2019 12:34

Decathlon ones here too, the drawstring is great for making sure they stay in place!

Starstruck2020 · 29/12/2019 12:44

I really like the fit and feel of running bare

PostNotInHaste · 29/12/2019 12:47

I love my Decathlon ones too
