To ask where you buy decent quality bedding these days

I feel like I'm forever searching for decent quality (doesn't feel like scratchy cardboard) duvet cover sets! I've tried Wilco, Asda and Argos. They're either hideous patterns or feel really hard / scratchy.

I look in dunelm yesterday and it was all frilly or cosy over £80!!!

King of Cotton - very nice quality and decent price.

speakout · 28/12/2019 19:32

I buy ASDA brushed cotton or jersey sheets and duvet sets. Really soft and very inexpensive.

pasanda · 28/12/2019 19:33

Feather and black

Greyhound22 · 28/12/2019 19:33

I like M&S and some are really good value.

bonzo77 · 28/12/2019 19:34

Dunelm currently have a sale on. TBH none of the brands you mentioned are likely to be nice quality. You get what you pay for. Some of the IKEA stuff is quite nice but you do have to be a bit selective.

sausage1968 · 28/12/2019 19:34

wayfair....brushed cotton

Biscuitsandteaplease · 28/12/2019 19:35

I love the bedding from Next, they usually have a good selection and has never failed me

flounderfish · 28/12/2019 19:35

I like Next for adult bedding but their children's range is surprisingly poor quality ime. For children's bedding I rate John Lewis.

TheLette · 28/12/2019 19:36

Unfortunately decent quality comes at a price. Look in the John Lewis sales. The key thing you need to look for is 100% cotton and a high thread count (minimum I'd recommend is 200, but for something which feels very nice look for 300 or above).

JaceLancs · 28/12/2019 19:36

Tkmaxx

RhodaDendron · 28/12/2019 19:36

The Tk Maxx near me often has v good quality (high thread count) stuff from Designers Guild

CalmFizz · 28/12/2019 19:36

What size bed do you have? I think decent quality, soft feel, full set will start around £60, and usually be plain.

Fogarty soft feel is really nice to the touch, sort of satin cotton.

commoncoot · 28/12/2019 19:37

@bonzo77 those are just the places nearest me that sell bedding. Whenever I look online at places like John Lewis it's all over £100 or very frilly or patterns that don't appeal
To me

www.mitrelinen.co.uk/

constantlyseekinghappiness · 28/12/2019 19:37

Another one for Next. I also get 100 % cotton sheets. I have a super king and my most recent sheets were £50

Pippastrelle · 28/12/2019 19:37

Soak and Sleep, or joules. I only ever buy bedding from them, mostly Joules! Sheets etc from soak and sleep. Lush x

Barmymammy · 28/12/2019 19:38

I like M & S and John Lewis for bedding.

Thelnebriati · 28/12/2019 19:38

What fabric do you prefer? I get brushed cotton on Ebay, about £12 for a double sheet and £15 for a double duvet cover.

koshkat · 28/12/2019 19:40

Dunelm sell Dorma 1000 thread count bedding and it is very good.

ohprettybaby · 28/12/2019 19:41

John Lewis and Debenhams. I've had 1100 thread count fitted bottom sheets from TKMaxx for around 23 pounds each.

PickAChew · 28/12/2019 19:41

Agree about looking for high cotton or pure cotton and 200 thread count or higher. Not a big fan of much higher as it takes forever to wash and dry and creases badly, which means more wear and tear so doesn't really stay nice any longer. TK maxx has some bargains, if you're selective and lucky and we get a few bits from John Lewis. If Cabbages and Roses is your style, their stuff is lovely and quite reasonable for the quality (it washes and tumble dries really well), but certainly spendier than ASDA and Argos.

Pancakeflipper · 28/12/2019 19:42

TKMaxx is worth a look. I've found some really great (I love plain bedding especially white) bedding that washes and wears well.

Ive found JLewis to now disappointing thin material.

Floralnomad · 28/12/2019 19:43

I like Julian Charles , they do have shops but it’s invariably cheaper to buy online as they have lots of offers/ sales .

snowball28 · 28/12/2019 19:44

Next has never failed me for quality bedding

NemophilistRebel · 28/12/2019 19:45

It needs to be 300 thread count plus to feel nice quality

Stick to soak and sleep, or white company
