I wish I was joking! I truly hate them. When I wear one, it's all I can think about and it honestly puts me in a massive strop!!!!

I hate how they give me back fat, I hate the feel of the straps, the clips, everything about them.

I have done everything I can - been accurately measured (NOT M&S) , tried every bra you can imagine and I can't handle it.

I also hate socks and tights and don't wear them either, so feel like it's a sensory processing issue.

I live in crop tops, those seamless ones. But they severely limit what tops I wear as they don't give enough support.

I am wondering if there is any other bras that people can reccomend? Ones without back clips, that are pull on if possible, but offer support.

My boobs are a 36 C

@isabellerossignol

That illustration shows how horrible the straps and band are at smaller back sizes. I'm a 32 E to G (currently bf so G) and detest the thick lumpy horror I'm subjected to. Meanwhile, same size boobs on a wider band would grant me a normal sized set of hardware. Total shite.

I've never been able to wear pretty lacy things or bralettes, it gives me the rage when anyone wishes for bigger boobs! Also mine seem really high set and wide apart so finding a cut to fit is difficult, often have to hoik the elastic to its shortest setting and even then the strap is too long. If the bra pulls them up to where they should be they point out to my sides like comedy 50s cone/gun boobs.

Anyway due to bf all bras are far too painful and it's DC2 so I just dngaf this time! So no breast pads, no bra, just a muslin and a vest. It's very obvious since the blimmin things are hanging down by my waist but at least I'm not in pain..

phlebasconsidered · 27/12/2019 18:59

I am 32F. I hate bras. I am perimenopausal and my boobs hurt nearly all the time. I'm too chesty to do without. I sleep in crop tops but most bralettes just give me a saggy monoboob which I can't "wear"to work. I have fallen back on old fashioned playtex style old lady bras from Boyes, which are ok, but there must be something else? I need support because they ache, but the wires kill me.

I swear, if someone invents a perimenopausal line of breathable, comfy, undies and flattering clothing they are quids in.

Agreed! I've never understood that either. Remember about ten years ago M&S said they were going to start charging more for bigger cup sizes, because they used more fabric? Then had to back down and admit that that was utterly made up because actually the cup size alone gives no indication of the size of the bra.

jgjgjgjgjg · 27/12/2019 19:13

How about a sleep bra? This style from Bravissimo has a racer back so no clasps to irritate.

ShinyMe · 27/12/2019 19:28

Those Molke bras look so unsupportive! Are they really just a layer of fabric, or is there some kind of cup support inside there?

I'm having a bit of a bra crisis - I've got big boobs (and I'm fat) and found a bra I liked, so bought lots of them. That was a few years ago and they're all wearing out at the same time - and the bra I like has been CHANGED to be totally useless now. I'm going to have to start the whole search process again now, which is a bit of a nightmare because it was almost impossible last time, and I only found ONE style after months of looking.

Bluewavescrashing · 27/12/2019 19:30

Stretchy crop tops from Sainsbury's. £4 each.

I'm 34d and find the very comfy and supportive.

ClownsandCowboys · 27/12/2019 20:04

I've order a Molke to see. I disagree that they aren't "sexy" or whatever. It is you that is sexy, not a certain bit of underwear, usually designed for the male gaze.

My DH insists that I am sexy in whatever, and if he is getting to touch boobs he doesn't care what they are in! Who decided what sexy underwear was? I imagine a man.

fedup21 · 28/12/2019 09:47

Those Molke bras look so unsupportive!

They really aren’t. I do t think they would be so popular if they weren’t!

Are they really just a layer of fabric, or is there some kind of cup support inside there?

It’s double layered fabric.

ShinyMe · 28/12/2019 09:57

Hmm. They're expensive for a risk. I can't see how two layers of fabric can be supportive for the weight of big boobs. I'd try one on in a shop, but online is a bit blind...

Just return it if you don’t like it. Wink

Branleuse · 28/12/2019 10:56

If it doesnt feel right, you can return it for a full refund. They hold my 30GGs up much more securely and comfortably than any other bra, to the extent I also use as a sports bra sometimes

hazeyjane · 28/12/2019 11:41

There is also a Molke resale page on Facebook - and most bras on there seem to sell for about £28-30.

I have only had mine a few days, but so far it feels like the nicest bra I've ever had.

My only concern was that my band size is on the cusp of 2 sizes, so I wasn't sure whether I should err on the side of the larger size or smaller.

LizzyDarcy1 · 28/12/2019 14:11

If you like firmer support, go for a molke with fabric rating 3 (black and purple lace are 3s).

I find them good for a couple of days and they're easier to wash than underwired bras as you can just bung them in the machine (I wouldn't risk this with a pricey underwired bra).

They are great under clothes in general. Obviously not so much for thin straps in summer etc. as they'll show, but fine under t shirts and anything else with more coverage. I find that they give a good shape. The returns and general customer service are great too.

Seawig · 28/12/2019 14:44

I've been struggling with my perfectly measured bravissimo underwired bras for months now. Think it's peri-menopause hormones making everything more sensitive and painful. It's been very hard to relax if not sitting bolt upright, not good for laying about reading!

Ordered a Molke a couple of days ago off the back of this thread. I'm a 34FF and the website recommended a stellar M. I'm in it now, arrived a couple of hours ago, and it is more supportive than other fabric only bras I've tried. Shape seems ok too.

I'm not getting my hopes up until I've worn it for some hours but if this is comfy and supportive enough I will be buying another and ditching the underwires forever.

Would be nice if they did some autumn colours though, but if I need to wear dinosaurs to be comfy so be it. I'm 45 and sick to death of being in pain or discomfort from something I have no choice in wearing.

Retrofitted · 28/12/2019 15:01

I’ve switched to cosabella and am finally not being annoyed by my bras.

No underwiring, comfy, easy to wash.

I have some properly fitted rigby and peller underwire bras for when I want to look very put together, or when a top really doesn’t look right with a non underwired bra.

For everyday use though, cosabella. They are the only ones I’ve ever not been longing to take off by the end of the day. I don’t even notice I’m wearing them.

fedup21 · 28/12/2019 15:02

I’m a 34FF and wear a medium cosmic

Seawig · 28/12/2019 15:19

I did the three measurements it asks for on the website and this seems a good fit. I'm probably bordering 32FF/G and 34FF/F depending on the bra make.

Only slight concern is that the cups aren't completely separated but looking at the photos on Molke's website that may be intentional.

ClownsandCowboys · 28/12/2019 17:41

I'm a 34F (Bob size) and it recommended a medium stellar. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive!

ClownsandCowboys · 28/12/2019 17:41

Oh and looking on the fb page they will be getting new designs and fabrics in the new year.

francienolan · 28/12/2019 17:48

Bralettes are where it's at.

Unfortunately the most comfy one (which I'm wearing right now)I have is one I got in a Walgreens in America on clearance 4 years ago. No idea how to find more. But I've had good ones from the usual places here too. I basically only wear underwire when I wear a strapless bra.

isabellerossignol · 28/12/2019 18:14

I know this is just what they're called, I'm not having a go at anyone for using the term, but I have an irrational hatred of the word bralette. It sounds really coy and twee. I imagine it being used in hushed tones by very religious women who think that the word bra is obscene.

peakygal · 28/12/2019 18:21

I detest bras! I always wish I had the money for a boob lift and then swear Id never wear one again Grin I also hate long sleeves so winter is not my fav time of the year lol..Plus I only ever have shoes on if I go out. Hate anything on my feet too

VerbenaGirl · 28/12/2019 18:31

I totally get this. Bras, socks, tights, knickers. Very much a sensory thing.

macaroniandpizza · 28/12/2019 18:40

I so feel your pain as a 36h i have no choice but to wear industrial bra shaped scaffolding. It digs into me something awful. Best part of the day is taking it off. Im going to try and get a breast reduction next year before my boobs totally cripple me
