to say that bras affect my mental health?

I wish I was joking! I truly hate them. When I wear one, it's all I can think about and it honestly puts me in a massive strop!!!!

I hate how they give me back fat, I hate the feel of the straps, the clips, everything about them.

I have done everything I can - been accurately measured (NOT M&S) , tried every bra you can imagine and I can't handle it.

I also hate socks and tights and don't wear them either, so feel like it's a sensory processing issue.

I live in crop tops, those seamless ones. But they severely limit what tops I wear as they don't give enough support.

I am wondering if there is any other bras that people can reccomend? Ones without back clips, that are pull on if possible, but offer support.

My boobs are a 36 C

I really struggle with the feel of bras too, the wring one puts me in a foul mood and makes my anxiety really bad.
I've switched to wearing non wired firm support sports bras (36F, couldn't go without a bra at all!) and with the right one I barely notice it Smile

isabellerossignol · 27/12/2019 10:08

Are those Molke bras very hot when you are wearing them? I would quite like to try one, but I worry about the heat!

Anurulz · 27/12/2019 10:09

I moved to sports bras during pregnancy and after birth, honestly, prefer them and nursing bras to wired bras. If you like, give them a go. Otherwise vests or cropped tanks are fine if you dont want to wear bras.

Asschercut · 27/12/2019 10:51

I haven't read the whole thread but I'm breastfeeding and the bras are very soft but supportive. Maybe you could use the drop down cups for 'boob breaks'. 🙊

stripeypillowcase · 27/12/2019 10:59

triumph wireless
I can't stand wires, they are never in the right position.
or those soft seamless things from teleshopping (forgot their names)

No, not at all.

Have a look on the Molke Facebook page if you’re interested in trying one. They’re v helpful.

VeganCow · 27/12/2019 13:25

Can the Molke fans explain why they're so good? The website shows bras that look bulky and matronly on the models, they all show creased material around the top of the chest/shoulders as well as creasing where one side crosses over the other at the bottom. I cant see how clothes can look good over the top of them?

having said that i just looked at the customer images and some look like a perfect fit with no creasing at all.

I imagine Molke is another sizing minefield and unless you have the chance to actually try them on to get the perfect fit, I don't see how a customer could find the right size?

ScreamedAtTheMichelangelo · 27/12/2019 13:30

Feel you so hard. But I’m an HH/J cup, so I also hate my boobs. Grin I’d give my soul for a cotton bra in that size, but nope, just lace and satin.

fedup21 · 27/12/2019 13:30

@Vegancow

They are good because they are really comfortable and hold your boobs up without underwire. It’s pretty simple.

There is a sizing chart online which has been spot on for me.

pugtato · 27/12/2019 13:32

I have this too! I have OCD and this causes me to be hypersensitive to how clothes feel when they fit me. Bras are one of the worst and have caused so much distress in the past. I now only wear Belvia Bras by JML. They are all fabric (I can't wear underwired) and I find them really comfortable.

ScreamedAtTheMichelangelo · 27/12/2019 13:49

Just bought a Molke. They look so bad on the website and can't see how they'll give support at all, but always happy to try and find the miracle bra...

RhymingRabbit3 · 27/12/2019 13:52

@VeganCow they're not sexy and I suppose they can look "matronly" but personally that was a small price to pay for a bra which is actually comfortable. I dont get any plastic/metals bits poking me, straps rubbing or falling down, red marks under the bust that I had with other brands.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 27/12/2019 13:55

I prefer crop tops too but I get non-underwire ones from M&S and they decent support without cutting in and and you can get plain or pretty.

TurduckenFucken · 27/12/2019 14:03

How do clothes sit on top of Molke bras? It looks like t shirts would cling to them. Apart from the plain ones they don’t really appeal to me.

I’m a fan of a knocker being held in a vice like grip from a really well fitting Fantasie bra. I want to be hoiked aloft with no bounce. Would Molke do that? I like the idea of them being made in Scotland.

Okbutno · 27/12/2019 14:07

I was thinking sensory issues as I read the first few sentences. But you've obviously come to this conclusion yourself. I'm a 40 f and totally understand this. I wear wireless ones from M&S. They fatsen at the back and have a thicker support under the breast. But do have straps etc.
The shape isn't amazing but way better than a crop top. It honestly changed my day to day life not feeling like I need to rip my bra off all the time.

HeyMac · 27/12/2019 14:08

@TurduckenFucken sit great under clothes.

The fabrics come in a 1,2 or 3. 1 is softest, 3 is firmest.

Okbutno · 27/12/2019 14:09

Also now googling molke....

AltheaVestr1t · 27/12/2019 14:11

I’ve never seen Mille before...they look amazing!

AltheaVestr1t · 27/12/2019 14:11

*Molke...stupid autocorrect!

thenorthernluce · 27/12/2019 14:15

Gap plunge sports bras are my current fave. They are low cut enough to eat with deeper v necks etc, but still supportive and comfy.

TurduckenFucken · 27/12/2019 14:37

Another Molke question, thanks for answering, HeyMac, they look like they come up v high under the arm. Does that mean that you need a clean one each day? I normally get two days out of a bra as it’s not in my armpit.

LightweightStroller · 27/12/2019 15:04

@Worried3456789

I mostly wear my underwire bras over a cotton vest, and if I wear them without the vest, I have covered them inside with 100% cotton knit material I cut up and sewed in to fit.

I’m allergic to elastane in Lycra and latex. And lace makes my skin come out in welts and gives me an asthma attack.
I’ve covered the straps too.

Padded bras are a problem as they have latex foam in them. I usually cut out the padded material and am left with the seamless nylon which I cover with cotton.

I wear my socks inside out as the elastane is inside and the cotton fibres are on the outside. I cut off the ankle bands.

I tried those molke bras, but found they shoved my boobs together so I had what looked like a huge chest buttock which made my breasts sweaty, and I thought was deeply unattractive- very matronly, and didn’t stop my boobs escaping sideways and sagging out under my arms.

I’m looking into a reduction as my breast tissue is disproportionately large for my petite frame, and now rather saggy and pendulous.... drop shaped,💧💧 30K size.

Gravity is winning on the boob front.

tectonicplates · 27/12/2019 15:10

which I adapt - sew the cups in together to cancel the ‘east/west’ boob direction effect

@31133004Taff What exactly do you do? Could you link to some instructions? I don't think I'll ever understand why bras are designed in the east/west way above a certain size. Why would anyone want that look?

HeyMac · 27/12/2019 15:24

@TurduckenFucken I get a few days out of mine. I don't find them particularly high under the arm either.

They've got a good returns policy and customer service is very good on the email front.

tectonicplates · 27/12/2019 15:34

I'm sorry, I still don't understand. So, the 32 inches on a 32DD bra is not the same as 32 inches on a 32J bra?

The 32 inches are the same on each bra. But if you're a 32J and you try to put on a 32DD bra, it'll feel as if the back size is too small because the bra and the rest of your body are competing for space. A way of testing this out is to put the bra on back to front. When the DD cups are on your back, the back size will suddenly fit you because the cups aren't competing for space. That's why a lot of women end up wearing the wrong size and when they go up a size - because the band feels tight so they assume they need to go up a back size, when actually the problem would have been better solved by going up a cup size instead.
