I think I saw a ghost

A few months back, DH and I stayed in a hotel room (One with “history”) abroad. I woke up in the middle of the night needing a drink. I walked through the living room area and saw a man crying in the sofa. I asked him what was wrong. He said nobody understands. I told him I do and then I woke up. I never told DH but the whole thing freaked me out. It wasn’t like a normal dream. I woke up feeling like I knew this guy. I felt sad, like literallly heartbroken at the thought of him crying.

I’ve never really gotten over it. The man was a public figure. My head tells me it was a dream of course but I just can’t process it for some reason and it’s depressing me

I woke up feeling like Hamlet’s dad- in questionable shape!

just don’t want to say as it will derail the thread and possibly get the shitty press jumping in

I know the DM isnt exactly highbrow journalism but even they're not going to be in the least bit interested in a sad dream you've had regardless of who it was about.

Talk about being overly dramatic 🙄

Didn't Cobain die in his house?

Wineislifex · 28/12/2019 10:35

@Patsypie yeah in his garage I think I read
@LaMarschallin love that comment 🤣🤣

226 marco polo. If your Dh is a kurt fan he would have known the significance of this room before he booked, meaning it would have put it in your head. So you either just had a dream using that info or made it up for this thread . A quick Google gives you all the information u need on that room.

Butteredtoast55 · 28/12/2019 10:53

It does sound like a dream which is probably due to the knowledge you had prior to going to sleep. If you genuinely thought it was a ghost don’t you think your instinct would have been to be massively freaked out and called out to your DP rather than just having a chat with him?
The fact that the feeling of sadness is still so intense suggests that there is more going on for you and that you probably did pick up on strong negative energy that has just grown as you’ve thought about it more. I am not at all sure about ghosts but I do think that places have a really distinctive feel to them and this can almost be tangible.

Hirsutefirs · 28/12/2019 16:03

It’s Paul McCartney.

I have seen ghosts, when I was about 4 years old I used to ask my mother who the old woman sitting on the stairs to the attic was. I remember her vividly. Ten years ago I saw the ghost of my FiL - it was daytime and I was wide awake - he appeared for about 20 seconds and then faded away.

KareyHunt · 28/12/2019 16:13

Des O'Connor

BertrandRussell · 28/12/2019 16:19

I saw a ghost when I was 4 too. I can still remember what he looked like and how scared I was. I proper spooked my family. Until my mother thought to get down to my level and saw what I could see- a splash of paint under a shelf that looked like a man’s face. If we had moved house before she did that, we might well all still believe in my “Green Man”

LaMarschallin · 28/12/2019 16:26

I never understand why ghosts appear to distantly related people.
I'd want to visit my daughters or - if they were psychically unavailable (by reason of not being gullible) - I'd go and hang around in Richard Osman's dressing room.

Certainly, if I was somebody famous, I'd no more want to manifest before some randomer than when I was alive.

Unless I wasn't really dead and just occasionally wanted to freak people out by serving them fish and chips...

Uh-huh-huh

Then I'd leave the building.

BertrandRussell · 28/12/2019 16:28

And why, when ghosts/spirits/whatever talk to people, they only tell them stuff they know already.

LaMarschallin · 28/12/2019 16:41

Maybe ghosts are just real gits.
They're jealous of the living and all their corporeal-ness and stuff, so go around floating above the ground and being prophetic but - and this is the fun bit - only in retrospect.

Yeah, next time can you him if the conspiracy theories surrounding his death are true or not, OP? 😉
