Lip Fillers

What the fuck are these young women doing to their lips?

Saw a girl in Lidl today who clearly had naturally thin lips. Had a huge fillet in her top lip. All it looks like is someone with a huge filler, not someone with lovely generous lips, see it all the time and it looks horrific.

What happens when they hit 40?

How much does it cost?

Why are we all injecting shit into our faces?

I think there is a difference between not want to age/stay looking young & changing your features.

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 12:54

@cokehoke why though?

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 12:55

How about people who use dermal fillers to reverse signs of ageing? Eg decreased lip and cheek volume with age?

cavabiensepasser · 23/12/2019 12:56

Aaaaah, so that's what it is.

You don't want us to alter our appearance because it makes YOU uncomfortable. Because we're not doing things for YOU that YOU think we should be doing for YOU.

Well. That ain't gonna happen. Cause I don't give a rat's arse how you feel about my appearance. Or yours, for that matter. It's all on you. :)

cokehoke · 23/12/2019 12:57

@gypsywater I just don't think dying your greys is the same as getting a whole new face.

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 12:58

@cokehoke that doesnt answer my question, which was a genuine one

koshkat · 23/12/2019 13:00

Good luck cavabien. You sound very young and you are very dismissive of other women and their opinions - 'Brendas' FFS?

I hope that you can eventually make peace with your appearance - this can come with age and certainly did with me and with it came much better self esteem.

Spaceprincess · 23/12/2019 13:01

I have them to top up volume lost due to aging. They look lovely and natural. I also dye my hair and have botox. I love messing about with how I look.
I'm not a fan of the massive lip look , but then I'm not 21.
Fillers are not permanent, so if she doesn't keep having them her lips will go back to their natural state.

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 13:01

@koshkat my god you are a passive aggressive woman!

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 13:02

@Spaceprincess
A refreshing attitude; I bet you look lovely Smile

cokehoke · 23/12/2019 13:02

@gypsywater what the question you posted whilst I was replying to the 1st one?

How about people who use dermal fillers to reverse signs of ageing? Eg decreased lip and cheek volume with age?

It's not for me as I don't think it really does the job of making one look younger. Although I understand it more than a butt job.

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 13:03

@cokehoke fair enough, thanks for responding

koshkat · 23/12/2019 13:03

I wish you happiness too gypsy. Go well.

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 13:04

@koshkat yet more Grin

Marriedtoapenguin · 23/12/2019 13:06

If people want to look like plungers it's their own business.

cokehoke · 23/12/2019 13:06

So people who think it's ok to change your face a la Kylie Jenner what do you say to your kids if they have your old features?

I personally think real beauty fades a bit but not completely. Christy Turlington is still beautiful for example.

cavabiensepasser · 23/12/2019 13:08

WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDRENNNNNN!

My children will go on to be adults and make their own decisions. I'm not so precious about my features that I'll think it a great affront if my children decide to alter them in future.

It's not like anyone asked them how they want their faces to look like when they were born, is it?

Closetbeanmuncher · 23/12/2019 13:08

Unfortunately today's idea of beauty has morphed into something entirely different and almost freakish..

The bigger issue I feel is the lack of regulation in the industry.

cokehoke · 23/12/2019 13:10

@cavabiensepasser, It's not about wanting to pass on your features more at what age will you tell them yes you do need fixing & let's change it?

Strongmummy · 23/12/2019 13:12

@cokehoke and if you think she hasn’t had work you’re deluded 🤣🤣

cokehoke · 23/12/2019 13:13

@Strongmummy what features has she changed?

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 13:13

Exactly, Christy T has definitely had some subtle filler work done.

cavabiensepasser · 23/12/2019 13:15

I'm never going to tell them to go change it. I wouldn't ever tell anyone to go and change their faces. It's up to the individual whether or not they wish to do so and none of my business. If they want to do whatever it is they want to do, I'll shrug and go about my day as normal.

cokehoke · 23/12/2019 13:17

I've seen her twice almost 20 yrs apart (I used to do some modelling), she wasn't using botex then as she had lines/wrinkles.

gypsywater · 23/12/2019 13:18

She very clearly now has subtle filler treatments to her lips, jaw and cheeks
