To think that there are too many personal insults and attacks on Tory voters

I’m really sick of it now. I don’t log on here to be called a cunt, told I hate disabled people and want to ruin the NHS.

I’m interested as to whether others feel the same or if it is just me. If it’s just me, I think I’ll piss off.

personally I think people who vote Tories should not be aloud to voteGrin

GailCindy · 23/12/2019 11:05

We know from official voting trends who votes for what. We already cut out a large amount of people who we deem old enough to procreate and marry in some places (16-17 year olds). I think old people who wont be around much longer shouldn't have a formal say in the future of young people.

BetweenTheMoon · 23/12/2019 11:05

So you all voted for an openly racist prime minister and wonder why people think that's a dick head move??

Smileyaxolotl1 · 23/12/2019 11:06

gailcindy keep talking so everyone see can see what a revolting person you are.

ilovesooty · 23/12/2019 11:07

I take your point about 16 - 17 year olds but I still disagree with disenfranchising people over 70.

GailCindy · 23/12/2019 11:08

I dont care if people think I feel some 86 year old man should have a say in how my son is supported in schools. I certainly don't think I'm the disgusting one. I voted for people like your father to receive decent social and health care that would not leave him at risk of dying in a shitty hospital bed of dehydration because there weren't enough staff to give him a drink.

Smelborp · 23/12/2019 11:15

Moderate conservatives asked the electorate to vote against the Tories (Hesletine, Major) and other moderates just left (Vaizey). They’ve clearly been moving further to the right.

Their policies aren’t just academic, they cause harm to vulnerable members of society. Schools are closing early on Friday as they can’t afford to stay open. The NHS is on its knees.

If you align yourself with that then I think you may need to accept that others will judge you for it.

TitianaTitsling · 23/12/2019 11:17

@gailcindy so my family member with a palliative diagnosis shouldn't be allowed to vote either as they may not be alive in the next 5 years? Does that also count for anyone with a life limiting illness?

GailCindy · 23/12/2019 11:21

@titian

You have a point but it would be too hard to legislate properly. Easier just to have a cut off for old people.

demelza82 · 23/12/2019 11:22

What are you moaning about? Tory voters got their own way, they're free to wreak whatever havoc or otherwise they like. Toughen up. Diddums.

GailCindy · 23/12/2019 11:23

The thing is that the average Tory voter lacks resilience so it will be us poor people with wet shoulders when it goes tits up for them because we are too compassionate to laugh in their faces. Even if we do laugh behind their weak backs.

MidnightCircus · 23/12/2019 11:29

Too compassionate too laugh in their faces, but old people shouldn't be allowed to vote because they are too old and born into times that were racist, sexist and put disabled into homes so their opinion is of no use to society? Hahaha sure Jan

MidnightCircus · 23/12/2019 11:29

To laugh*

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 23/12/2019 11:32

I do think that prominent figures within the left brought this shit show on themselves by not listening to their core voters who ended up going Tory, and that yelling at people that they are racist, bigoted and thick is not going to win hearts and minds....

But I don't get why you are moaning about this now? The Tories won, you should be glad. People are going to suffer under this government, there is no doubt about it, but then maybe the same would have been true of a Labour govt. You got the government that you wanted so just be happy that your party won and don't worry about what people think of you.

Alsohuman · 23/12/2019 11:34

Hysterical statements like this is why people didn't vote labour

Nothing hysterical about that statement. It’s the simple truth.

Alsohuman · 23/12/2019 11:39

Honestly I don't care, people like your dad voted against my son having a proper education. No the elderly shouldn't vote. I think 70 is the age it should stop. 16-70 should be voting age. We can see that the elderly cannot even vote in their own favour as even the richer ones cannot afford their own social or health care for 20 years. They shouldn't have a voice in this

You’ve lost my sympathy now. My dad voted Labour well into his 90s, I intend to do the same as long as I live. If you take my vote away in four years time, I expect you to exempt me from paying tax at the same time.

Xenia · 23/12/2019 11:41

The left as ever just prove what they ar really like by the pretty awful they use about the Tories. On the other side a lot of us Conservatives know plenty on the left are hard working and mean well (even though they have sadly made the wrong political choice).

Also some of they are very upset they lost so badly so are bound to be a bit cross about that. It would be a good idea if they had a hard think and became Conservatives but I don't hold my breath.

Poorolddaddypig · 23/12/2019 11:42

I personally don’t think there’s been anywhere near enough and would like to see many more.

Bodyposiftw · 23/12/2019 11:47

Just be happy you won and don't expect those of us who are scared of Boris Johnson to be pleased about it.
FWIW I won't call you a cunt, I am sure you are an otherwise very pleasant ( no sarcasm) but I do think you have voted a cunt in, end of.
Like I said though, you won, so just be pleased.

partyhatsoff · 23/12/2019 11:51

YABU - on paper I should be a Tory Voter, good job, never claimed benefits even when poor, self improved, can afford private health care and school for my kids if I chose that BUT I actually care about other people less well off than me, I want the NHS to be there for everyone and I don’t think WC kids should have less opportunities than MC or rich kids. Which leave me concluded that Tory voters are selfish twunts.

AutumnRose1 · 23/12/2019 11:51

Gail so you think 70+ shouldn't be allowed to vote because "I think they are too old and born into times where it was okay to be racist and sexist and disabled people were put into homes to have any proper opinion that is worth anything to any decent society. That's including those who agree with me politically."

okay. So my father was not white, had a disability - does he go in the same box as "must be racist" then? Or are you going to issue special passes for exemptions?

your views are ....are you a parody?!

There must be lots of Labour voters in their 70s, 80s and 90s. Would you need proof of that to change your mind?

Bodyposiftw · 23/12/2019 11:51

I don't get why Tory voters care so much why the rest of us think. It's very odd. If I were in your shoes I would be too busy celebrating to think of the losing side's opinions.

AutumnRose1 · 23/12/2019 11:54

Body "I don't get why Tory voters care so much why the rest of us think. It's very odd."

I think part of the discomfort is that many of us are usually Labour and are a bit freaked out. And wondering who took the Labour Party and ...I don't know.....locked them in a gigantic cupboard somewhere? And we thought they'd re-emerge for the election, but we are still looking round in bewilderment.

Tanith · 23/12/2019 12:00

Best sort out those Troll farms then, Op, because they’re doing their share of the winding up and name calling. Another group of name-callers are simply bored teenagers who don’t even vote. A few are mentally ill. They used to write anonymous letters; now they can just spill it all online.

Always surprises me how people believe random strangers they read online. You’ve no idea who these people are.

In case you hadn’t noticed, everyone is being targeted by these people. Be thankful you’re not Diane Abbott, who has put up with far worse for years and doesn’t even have the benefit of anonymity.

C8H10N4O2 · 23/12/2019 12:02

I think they are too old and born into times where it was okay to be racist and sexist and disabled people were put into homes to have any proper opinion that is worth anything to any decent society

At 70? The swinging hippy generation, the flower power/CND generation?

Nice bit of ageism there, people who in years to come will increasingly still be at work but not fit to vote.
