Police here so nothing. Will buy each of my team members a bottle of wine (or chocolates for those that don’t drink) and I’ll probably get one from my boss. But nothing else.

cstaff · 14/12/2019 11:45

We usually get a 500 one for all voucher plus full Xmas party.

ActualHornist · 14/12/2019 11:49

Our company doesn’t do Christmas bonuses but we do get an allocation of £50 for a dinner. I’m going next Friday.

Keepmewarm · 14/12/2019 11:53

Mental health nurse so nothing but I love my job and wouldn’t want to do anything else. I feel lucky to be able to help someone in crisis at Christmas.
A lunch break would be nice though.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 14/12/2019 11:55

No. And we pay for our own Xmas meal out too.

Alaimo · 14/12/2019 11:57

No bonus, although we do get an extra day off (paid) on the 23rd.

NotStayingIn · 14/12/2019 11:57

Nothing either. Public sector too. Hope your DH gets a bonus though!

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 14/12/2019 12:00

We do get a Christmas party allowance of £40 pp if that counts. It has to be used for an organised event, though - you can't just take the £40. We had a team meal, which was nice as we ate from the a la carte in a decent local restaurant rather than having pre-packaged "Christmas Menu" horror food.

TheGoogleMum · 14/12/2019 12:00

Nhs staff don't get Christmas bonuses ever and have to pay for and organise our own Christmas events. So no.

Rezie · 14/12/2019 12:00

Is it really considered Christmas bonus if you get an extra £0-100 at Christmas or is it a Christmas gift from company? I mean I'd love to get extra but I'm just wondering about the terminology since Christmas gift and bonus have a different sound to me.

I work in public sector so we get nothing. Previous place we would get £250 voucher for Christmas present but never bonuses at any time of year.

HandsOffMyRights · 14/12/2019 12:01

Nothing. No Christmas do either.

No pay rise for 5 years (other than cost of living Hmm) but public sector again.

Best comments so far.

northernlittledonkey · 14/12/2019 12:05

@handsoffmyrights we’ve nothing either, I work for a charity. No xmas drinks, party or thank you. Definitely no bonus.

Mummy bonus is working next week , then not working over xmas. I’m not taking holiday either.

northernlittledonkey · 14/12/2019 12:06

My bonus, not mummy bonus.

However only doing that as offices are closed.

Cheeseboardcriminal · 14/12/2019 12:06

We get a cost of living rise every year anything from 1 to 4% of our salary which we find out about in December.

One year we had the option to take it as a bonus which was nice. Never done it again since though.

We also have a free 3 course meal on the premises and £30 towards a Christmas night out.

Our manager always buys us a little gift each to as does our supervisor.

U2HasTheEdge · 14/12/2019 12:09

NHS.. so no!

ClientListQueen · 14/12/2019 12:13

We've got an extra day off over Christmas. No bonus though as our commission is paid monthly anyway so just standard bonus in pay

PTW1234 · 14/12/2019 12:15

We get a bonus early next year, it’s linked to how well the company performed (so how much goes into the pot) and how well you personally performed dictates what you will get out of the pot. I will be expecting about 8-10% of my annual salary.

It’s quite a fair system in my opinion as it purely linked to performance, we have regular informal 1-2-1s and are set personal objectives quarterly so it comes to no surprise to people what they receive.

As a “Christmas bonus”, we get £20 voucher and a half day off.

Lillipops · 14/12/2019 12:18

I work in finance and got a 7.5% bonus, approx £2770 before tax and £40 towards a Xmas night out/meal. We usually get shares too but we haven't this year. 2% salary increase from January really pleased with that it's been a busy year at work

Oysterbabe · 14/12/2019 12:22

I'll get £500.

incogKNEEto · 14/12/2019 12:22

I got a £10 Christmas bonus from the DWP (Carer's allowance).

kittykatkitty · 14/12/2019 12:27

Dd2 works for a local firm who always give Christmas bonus.
This year she got 5k.
I'm so pleased for her.

LizB62A · 14/12/2019 12:33

No Christmas bonus here - we used to get a bottle of wine each from a previous manager

Nat6999 · 14/12/2019 12:33

I was a civil servant before retiring due to ill health, when I first started we used to be given a day off for christmas shopping & half a day for our Christmas dinner. By the time I finished that had all been stopped, there had never been any cash bonuses, free christmas lunches or parties but the time off was always appreciated.

tinselvestsparklepants · 14/12/2019 12:39

No bonus and staff have to pay for the Christmas meal. I didn't bother - would rather go out with dh.
