If Scotland becomes independent how long until a general election would be called and what do you predict the results would be? Do you think SNP would eventually disband?

If Scotland becomes independent, it will need a hard border with the UK regardless whether or not it eventually rejoins the UK, because the UK is leaving the EU, and in the interim UK and Scotland will be two separate countries with no border agreement. And once UK leaves the EU, it will need the border because a non-EU country has to have a border with an EU country. Scotland has no way of avoiding a hard border if it separates.

That's simply not true. Canada and America don't have a hard border. They negotiated not to. England and Scotland could do the same. Not if one and in and one out of the EU. Another good reason for the UK not to have a hard Brexit.

Erm... there is a very much hard border between US and Canada. There is border contro , customs, and law enforcement at every entry point, as well as limited and controlled entry points. Poeple are arrested if they try to cross that border. That is the definition of hard border. Why would you say there is no hard border?
