I feel genuinely gutted. I expected it to be so much closer.

Cuteypye · 12/12/2019 22:25

Really hope Labour have been slaughtered. Best Christmas present I could ever get! If this exit poll is correct it is because Labour have a horrendous leader in Corbyn and he should bear full responsibility for the situation. Hopefully this would mean that he would be kicked out as opposition leader.

2stepsonthewater · 12/12/2019 22:25

TheInebriati
ts not that the majority are happy with the current situation; its that they felt the opposition would be worse.

This ^

Symptomless · 12/12/2019 22:25

Well the majority obviously do want more cuts and privatisation. And lies.

bakabakabeyond · 12/12/2019 22:25

To everyone saying 'I can't stand corbyn' - do you like Boris more? Racist, sexist, domestic abuser, lying Boris? You're all bloody thick!

LaurieMarlow · 12/12/2019 22:25

Exit polls are historically very accurate.

I’m depressed beyond belief at this result, but not at all surprised.

The nhs will be missed.

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 12/12/2019 22:26

Horrified. I just can't comprehend it.

MrsAgassi · 12/12/2019 22:26

"If the exit poll is correct, it would be Labour's worst result since 1935."

This was lifted from the BBC. Instead of wasting time abusing Tory voters, the Labour Party need to be asking themselves why people find them so unpalatable. Blaming others is easy and lazy, they need to look within.

Spacebowlisback · 12/12/2019 22:26

I’m very concerned about the things that cannot wait any longer. The dying, the disabled, the planet. I do think the pendulum will swing back eventually but how much permanent damage is being done in the meantime?

BuckingFrolics · 12/12/2019 22:26

Ok so let's all become selfish greedy fuckwits. It'll be the last time I give a fig about anyone other than my family and friends. The rest of you.., - well, I'll play by these new rules of me first, with lies, prejudice and separatism all being ok, seeing as that's what the UK has seemingly endorsed.

TattiePants · 12/12/2019 22:26

I’m absolutely gutted. Realistically I knew Labour wouldn’t win but I was hoping for a hung parliament. The ONLY positive (I’m clutching at straws) is that JC has to go now and hopefully is replaced with someone electable. I was also worried that the Brexit Party could get a seat in the NE. Surely this has to be the end for them too.

Skyejuly · 12/12/2019 22:27

Greedy
Selfish
Brainwashed

I feel sick

Doggodogington · 12/12/2019 22:27

Don’t be silly, conservatives vote for themselves, not for other people. They couldn’t give a toss about your disabled children.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 12/12/2019 22:27

Devastating. How the fuck have we become a country who doesn’t give a fuck about anyone?

kazza446 · 12/12/2019 22:27

I feel sick. Absolutely gutted. I wanted hope for the most vulnerable in our society. No hope whatsoever. What an uncaring society I am living in. I’m scared for my children’s future.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 12/12/2019 22:27

The only meagre plus is that Labour might come to its senses now and elect a competent, moderate leader who has half a hope of winning an election.

John McDonnell was just on the bbc trying desperately to convince viewers that the reason for any large scale Labour losses will be Brexit.

Not only does that not make sense, but it's extremely patronising to suggest Corbyn as leader was not a factor when that has been widely agreed by many people within the party itself, let alone less fervent supporters!

SilverySurfer · 12/12/2019 22:27

Fantastic forecast - hopefully Corbyn and cronies will get booted out.

Justanotherlurker · 12/12/2019 22:27

Just here to laugh at how out of touch MN is, elections since 2010 has shown out of touch an echo chamber this is.

The rest of the web are looking at MN and openly laughing at how out of touch again this forum is.

Symptomless · 12/12/2019 22:27

By voting against something (opposition) you are voting in support of something else. In this case those who voted Tories as a protest against labour, have also voted in support of all of tory policies, their leader and the past 9 years of government.

Spacebowlisback · 12/12/2019 22:28

How far right have we swung that Corbyn’s polices are considered far left?

theduchessstill · 12/12/2019 22:28

FFS, John McDonnell seemed to be implying just now that he and JC may hang on...

Skyejuly · 12/12/2019 22:29

^ yep. Selfish.

Poorboy136 · 12/12/2019 22:29

@ClownsandCowboys

I think people were so pissed off with the whole Brexit carry on and the way in which it was dealt with. I recon people voted for tories again as they want out of the EU.

I imagine once we’re out, historic labour voters will go back to their roots. I think many people voted out of frustration. Hopefully they won’t be in power for the long haul. Xx

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 12/12/2019 22:29

Fingers crossed they are right.

WeArnottamused · 12/12/2019 22:29

This is awful, I feel sick.
