Fantastic reply. Sums up the feral side of the British benefit claiming public.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 12/12/2019 23:33

@fromdownwest Ironically, are you not thinking about you and your family whilst voting.

No, actually. We’re doing ok. It’s all the other poor sods I’m voting for who aren’t. It’s called socialism, you see.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 12/12/2019 23:33

Let's not start with the Benefit bashing.

shinynewapplesonachristmastree · 12/12/2019 23:33

I think

A lot of people are so sick of 'Brexit' that although they may have initially been a Remainer, they have decided to go with getting it out of the way and moving forward rather than going back for a second vote

A lot of people have voted conservative simply because they didn't want labour under Jeremy Corbyn.

I also agree with the poster who said that there are a lot of MC people who are very liberal and caring on the outside, but inside that booth they vote with their wallets

I am certainly not shocked by this probable outcome.

As another poster said, this must now be the turning point for Labour to have a good hard look at itself. Corbyn needs to resign to enable the party to reassemble itself as a proper opposition.

rhubarbcrumbles · 12/12/2019 23:34

Let's not start with the Benefit bashing.

That started on MN years ago and it's going to get worse.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 12/12/2019 23:34

Goodbye nhs, 75 years was a good innings and you still have promises to keep. But it will be a lovely fairy story for our great grand children.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 12/12/2019 23:35

@rhubarbcrumbles. Indeed it will.

I just love being told I'm benefit scum.

NickelADimeCandy · 12/12/2019 23:35

That is such nonsense. The Tory party has no intention of getting rid of the NHS.

nauticant · 12/12/2019 23:36

The point about exit polls is that they're a prediction and then you watch how the results, as they're announced, align with the prediction. Only 3 seats announced so far but they're aligning well with the prediction of the exit polls.

Dongdingdong · 12/12/2019 23:37

The Tories have won Blyth Valley. Looks like the exit poll is dead on...

CurlyhairedAssassin · 12/12/2019 23:37

also agree with the poster who said that there are a lot of MC people who are very liberal and caring on the outside, but inside that booth they vote with their wallets

Where is your evidence for this?

Campurp · 12/12/2019 23:38

I feel sick.

Sandaled · 12/12/2019 23:38

At least the Brexit party arent predicted to win any seats?

fromdownwest · 12/12/2019 23:38

@bakabakabeyond - Don't make it something its not.

I called you out because you called ALL Tory voters 'Scum on the bottom of your shoe'

Had that comment been aimed at a religious group or race then you would have rightly been up in arms.

That is the irony, don't twist it. I

Nat6999 · 12/12/2019 23:39

If the exit polls are correct, this country is stuffed. People like me might as well get a ticket to Dignitas.

bakabakabeyond · 12/12/2019 23:40

@fromdownwest hilarious. I'm not twisting anything. You can't compare a political party to a race of people. You sound bananas.

josephineisblue · 12/12/2019 23:40

Race and political views are not even things you can compare 🤦🏽‍♀️

colouringinpro · 12/12/2019 23:40

Nickel I'm sorry but you're deluded. Several leading Tories have written books about getting rid of the NGS. The NHS already has BILLIONS of contracts in the private sector e.g. Virgin Care. They are waiting until it's in such a bad state that they can say, Oh dear, it's a lovely idea but it's not working. Let's have this lovely private/I surance/US style health care instead

Pulpfiction1 · 12/12/2019 23:41

Corbyn needs to resign to enable the party to reassemble itself as a proper opposition.

What so they can turn back into the war mungering "new Labour" aka the tory Party.

fromdownwest · 12/12/2019 23:42

@bakabakabeyond - I would rather be bananas than a judgmental angry person

Justaboy · 12/12/2019 23:43

Blyth Valley, a Labour heartland since the seat was created in 1950, having only ever been held by Labour and Independent Labour candidates in that time, has been taken by the Conservatives in the first shock of the night:

Now that is scary as to why this happened?

Clue; JC ?..

cyclingmad · 12/12/2019 23:44

How much money do you throw at the NHS, its like a bottomless pit, never satisfied. Bloody hell you could throw the equivalent of our entire economy at it and it wouldn't be enough.

There is mismanagemnt, management issues, procurement issues. Money wasted everywhere. Millions wasted on IT solutions that are scapped - bloody appalling. Just fix the root causes first before you chuck more and more money at it.

ZenNudist · 12/12/2019 23:44

Look. It was shit. Now its shitter. Let Boris own the mess he is making of this country. My conscience is clear. I think Im going to look at a move to Canada. Im on a decent wedge with good specialist skills. Time to exit stage right.

NickelADimeCandy · 12/12/2019 23:45

Blyth Valley, a Labour heartland since the seat was created in 1950, having only ever been held by Labour and Independent Labour candidates

This bears repeating. A constituency which stuck with Labour even through Michael Foot has rejected Labour.

bakabakabeyond · 12/12/2019 23:46

@fromdownwest I am judgemental of anyone who can vote for an islamophobic, sexist, disgusting man like Boris. And yes I am angry, and passionate, about my son's future and the future of this country. You honestly sound so daft.
