Boris Johnson refuses to look at photo of child on hospital floor

Johnson repeatedly refusing to look at picture of a four year old child on a hospital floor when confronted by an ITV reporter. After refusing to so much as glance at the photo, he then proceeds to pocket the reporters phone(!?) while mouthing empty platitudes. Here’s a link, but I’m sure you’ll see it on the news anyway..

Was he having a bad day? Nah, it’s Johnson to a T: a privileged, uncaring, unashamed bullshitter, out for number one. Does this man represent our country?

He was in a bed apparently it was needed for a sicker child. He was put in a chair but wanted to lie down.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/12/2019 18:52

apparently the little boy's Mum doesn't want him used as a political football

On the face of it that makes her sound like a sensible lady

All the same I find myself wondering who took the shot and how it made its way into the media ...

BertrandRussell · 09/12/2019 18:52

Because he had already gone through A&E. He had actually been assessed and was in a bed in a treatment room but it was needed for a sicker child.

Snowy111 · 09/12/2019 18:52

Agree he is a sociopath.

Hancock has a better reaction even though he is completely incompetent and I have zero confidence in the future with him in charge - he’s just a BJ puppet

AutumnCrow · 09/12/2019 18:53

@PostNotInHaste absolutely. There's nothing to jump for joy about with any Party.

WeshMaGueule · 09/12/2019 18:54

He also says he hasn't seen the picture WHICH WAS ON THE FRONT OF THE MIRROR. Do you seriously think he doesn't get a media briefing every morning? Another lie.

Snowy111 · 09/12/2019 18:55

I don’t think any party is perfect but BJ getting a huge majority, which is what seems likely, is a disaster, especially for the most vulnerable

Witchend · 09/12/2019 18:59

I think he's a twit, a dangerous manipulative egocentric idiot.

But he was in a situation that he couldn't win.
If he'd looked at it and said "how dreadful" then he'd be chewed up for saying platitudes. I find meaningless platitudes from politicians particularly annoying, because you know: shove a different sad face under their chin and they'll spout the same things about a different situation with no intention of doing anything different.

Fact is however well funded hospitals are this could still happen unless they refuse to admit people if they're full, which would be far worse. There are times when the least occupied place doesn't have space because it happens that they get an influx of people.
Yes, it isn't good. Ideally there will always be space-when I was admitted for pneumonia in 1979 I can remember a child on the ward who was 3 nights on a camping mattress because that's what was available.
They did not have another bed. What can they do?

little boy's Mum doesn't want him used as a political football but I'd say he already is poor little soul! In which case why did she go to the press just before an election? Is she really telling people she's stupid enough not to realise it would?

PortiaCastis · 09/12/2019 18:59

The Tories won this constituency by 312 seats to the Lib Dems in 2017 so hopefully we can turn that round here as nobody is happy with them.

NiteFlights · 09/12/2019 19:00

I just don’t understand why on most of these threads here people assume if you feel the Lie Minister is a disgusting piece of humanity that you automatically think Corbyn is the best thing since sliced bread. It’s not a binary decision and some of us are utterly pissed off with the lot them.

Hear hear! It’s such lazy, simplistic thinking.

Rewilderness · 09/12/2019 19:03

If Johnson strangled a tiny, fluffy puppy he would still fucking win on Thursday sadly. He is a blundering, blustering, misogynist, racist narcissist who is out for himself only. Then we have Corbyn who’s a petulant, anti-Semite with a nebulous stance on Brexit and some very dubious policies. It’s like having to choose between ebola and the bubonic plague.

StarGOLD · 09/12/2019 19:08

On the BBC website it said she made her son comfortable on a makeshift bed and then took the photo....'did she then sell it to the Mirror'.?..Well how else did they get it..Really..Election madness.
Have the Trust commented on why the little boy was bumped? No because it's confidential..It happens..a close friend of mine was bumped for a serious operation in the LGI as a gunshot came in..it happens. If he was bumped but stable she should have insisted on a comfy chair from the waiting room. I wouldn't leave my kids on the floor.
Poor lad...hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Smile that’s what I’m hoping for. It’s not ideal but it’s better than either party having a majority. I’m using the recommendation for my area on tactical.vote

Forgotmy · 09/12/2019 19:19

IMV if there was any Labour leader other than Corbyn, they would romp home.

Perfect storm for the Tories. Shame on Labour.

anxioussue · 09/12/2019 19:23

When I had a rupturing ectopic I had to sit in a chair in the waiting room as there were no beds.

So he wasn’t put on the floor, he got on the floor.

Corbyn is the best thing that ever happened for the Tories.

Has to be accepted now.

BertrandRussell · 09/12/2019 19:35

Did anyone notice my anecdote about my 78 year old psychotic mil and her 12 hour wait at the BRI a few miles away? Was that a stunt too?

BertrandRussell · 09/12/2019 19:37

Corbyn’s not the best thing that’s happened to the Tories- the BBC is. Laura Kunnesberg and Robert Peston both perpetuating “fake news” this evening...

He's four years old, and very unwell, oliversmum. He wanted to lie flat.

Snowy111 · 09/12/2019 19:51

I think this encapsulates BJ throughout his campaign - he has avoided scrutiny and all encounters with the public have been stage managed to avoid any confrontation

But it doesn’t matter, the majority of people are In some sort of weird denial and he’ll get a big majority

If Johnson strangled a tiny, fluffy puppy he would still fucking win on Thursday sadly.
