unfollowed Mrs Hinch

raabossi · 09/12/2019 08:28

So i originally followed Mrs Hinch when i saw her on This Morning and i thought i would be a great way of getting cleaning tips.....which originally it was. But now i think it has turned into this one big advertising campaign and what items she has been gifted.
So i have decided to unfollow her and i feel so much better for it.
What are your thoughts?

Yes, I did know it was meant to be water, and that stupid stamp. Still reckon it is spit on a finger.

Let's face it, she sits down to pee, carefully unrolls a bit of bog roll to use and either her finger goes through and she uses the moist finger, or she sods about folding the end and spits on it rather than walk to the sink, much easier. Why wouldn't she? Who would know she did it?

astralweaks · 09/12/2019 15:37

Tacky house doused in very synthetic cleaners. Ugh.

Spot on.

Nat6999 · 09/12/2019 15:39

The Mrs Hinch bubble is starting to burst, people are realising that she is just out to make money. After seeing the Zoflora crap when she was recommending mixing Zoflora with other cleaning products that could potentially cause lethal fumes & worse, I wouldn't follow her. 1 lady who did as she said to clean her toilet ended up with an explosion in her toilet, the fire brigade & her home full of lethal fumes.

draughtycatflap · 09/12/2019 15:54

I reckon when that Hinch kid leaves the house it must be like Dorothy landing in Oz and seeing glorious colour for the first time.

EleanorShellstrop100 · 09/12/2019 15:57

Bet she’s gutted

AllergicToAMop · 09/12/2019 16:06

Her house isn't all grey though. It's predominantly magnolia... Look at pics with no filter.

Can’t stand the woman. Very false and that poor kid must be feeling lousy with all those chemicals floating around.

ShannonShouts · 09/12/2019 16:19

YANBU, instagram is a vicious cycle. They start off with good content, then they get gifted things and it just becomes a place to advertise. I’ve unfollowed so many people because of it

Bluntness100 · 09/12/2019 16:22

Blimey some real bitterness on this thread, Confused

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 09/12/2019 16:25

Blimey some real bitterness on this thread
Yup, always the way with these threads - faux innocent question title and some very unhappy sounding people with some of the replies.
I just don't get the mentality of some views and never will.

Lifeinaplasticbox · 09/12/2019 16:26

Blimey some real bitterness on this thread

Yes, because if you disagree with something you’re automatically bitter or jealous. On mn anyway

Angryandangry · 09/12/2019 16:31

I don't really get the I unfollow people as soon as they start making money off their feed mindset. You like to consume their content so long as they are working, providing that content to you for free?

I don't follow MrsHinch because I couldn't care less about cleaning, the same way I don't follow mummy bloggers because I'm past the young child stage but I have no problem with the people who post content that I enjoy getting paid for it, I'm still getting that content for free and if I don't like an ad or whatever I just scroll past it.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 09/12/2019 16:34

LifeInAPlasticBox has it touched a nerve or something, as noone was referring to you?
Some of the posts on here DO come across as bitter and jealous.
Mocking mental health pretty disgusting/bitter in my book, or a poster who said it was galling that she gets stuff for free when she has to pay - jealousy showing a bit there.
And no I'm not Mrs Hinch lol

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 09/12/2019 16:39

I’ve purposely kept away from Mrs. Him he because frankly, it’s a feminist issue. I want to be teaching my daughters that if I have some free time I’ll sit and read a novel or make some art.... not obsessively clean my toilets. Cleaning is a chore to be done, not a hobby.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 09/12/2019 16:42

Lol @draughtycatflap Grin !

Illcallbacklater · 09/12/2019 16:43

Most IGers with a decent following her a few gifted things, but some really overdo it imo. @ a_littlebitoflife posts a few gifted bits of clothing but it's clearly clothes she'd buy anyway, her home is very realistic and she's lovely and lives with a disability which I'd never heard of before and I find her to be one of the only non-irksome people who post the kinds of things she does, as well as bobbins.at.no.18, beautiful house I love seeing her before and after reno pictures.

I don't mind Mrs hinch, I don't follow her anymore for similar reasons, I think she's harmless but the constant spamming of tat she bought on ebay doesn't sit right with my personal shopping and eco ethics but to each their own

MissPepper8 · 09/12/2019 16:48

I do follow her, I noticed alot is gifted now.. Like she said she was debating buying a Christmas tree for her landing and next she posts her decorated gifted one.. Perks of a influencer I guess?

I don't mind these posts if it's on stories and it's optional to view them. This said, I follow an account who I originally followed as they had a business one, they also had a personal one which I followed shortly after.

I loved how real the person was, saw real life ect of their family and they're really quite down to earth. Well they have decided to go influencer/ads ect and its not only on stories but all over their wall and the number of real life posts have gone and been replaced with tacky ads for any old product now (seriously gifts from beds to food, to teeth products).

It makes me sad more than anything that the person has lost why you really followed them in the first place and it does look like theyve sold out for freebies, I just don't like their posts anymore.

Morgan12 · 09/12/2019 16:50

I think the whole 'all grey everything' theme is horrid to be honest. And I love grey.

I never followed her because of that. Plus I already know how to clean. People act like she invented it. Like we all walked around our houses wiping our walls with vaseline and trying to hoover with a guitar before she opened an Instagram account.

Anyhow, Mrs Greedy is by far the best home account on insta. She is hilarious.

MissPepper8 · 09/12/2019 16:54

She has the perfect platform to promote charities and to pay it forward but she's only interested in making money for herself or getting freebies.

Not out to defend her here, but this is wrong, she made some grey loungewear and a book I think for a charity and all proceeds went to said charity.

She's also done stories for charities and go fund me pages I think in the last month. But for kids.

Sparklingbrook · 09/12/2019 16:58

I thought her husband went out and bought the decorations for the 2nd landing tree from Tesco.

astralweaks · 09/12/2019 17:02

Grey is heavy clouds, school uniform skirts, institutional paintwork of the post war era, depression...

Awful choice of colour etc.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 09/12/2019 17:43

@Sparklingbrook he did

MissPepper8 · 09/12/2019 17:59

I thought her husband went out and bought the decorations for the 2nd landing tree from Tesco

He did but she tagged new tree as gifted from Balsam Hill.
