The media conditioned people in to hating her the last few years but now I want to hear her side.

Apparently a disgruntled ex employee was going to spill the beans! So PS was advised to come out with it himself. Or so I have been told

Im fed up with people saying he is 'brave'. No he's not brave. Brave would be a Premier League footballer coming out, a daytime TV presenter coming out isn't brave. There have been gay daytime TV presenters for years, the late Dale Winton and Paul O' Grady just off the top of my head.

My thoughts are that someone was going to out him anyway and he's decided to take back control. He's also had a lot of negative press and this deflects from that.

I don’t think that he would ha e revealed he was gay, unless there was some other revelation about to occur. His statement will probably have rendered anything worthless now.

I don’t care if he is gay, bi or anything else. It’s his presenting style I don’t like, so it makes no difference from that point of view. Lots of TV people are gay and we’ve always known it. Some of them around PS’s age. Then there are people like Rylan, Allen Carr, Tom Allen..... loads of them. It doesn’t need to be hidden and it doesn’t need to be a big deal. Except that hiding it and basically living a lie, makes it seem like a big deal.

I think this is the tip of the iceberg and more will emerge. He’s past his sell by date anyway. Been on TV too long.

Its interesting that other than Holly, Ruth and Eamon no one else from the This Morning family has tweeted support.

It’s pissing me off all the gushing over how brave he is he’s really not, being gay should be treated as “normal” but with all this pandering to him it continues to perpetuate the thought of being gay as being “different” and stops it from being normalised.

He’s just another self absorbed celeb who thinks people really care enough to watch him dedicate time on This Morning to ‘coming out’. It’s 2020. No-one cares.

Im usually a bit reluctant to believe posters who say 'I know someone who works in the industry' etc, however its been my gut feeling since the announcement was made that someone was going to 'out' him anyway.

Eurgh. I finally managed to watch the video last night after a busy day. What a narcissistic little shit. Why make a song and dance about this all when he could have quietly separated and then come out once he had left his wife to give her some dignity. And all that hugging and fucking holding back tears..such a nasty little twat.

This is like Bruce and Kris Jenner..he did the whole announcement and fireworks and the woman is gaslighted into thinking what a supportive and lovely wife she is for being understanding and loving and supportive of the shit head who has lived with them all these years being deceptive.

I think it may have been mentioned on another thread but I’m also deeply suspicious that this was timed to take any attention away from the Barrymore documentary.

I notice that ITV whipped all its ‘stars’ to tweet their support and toe the official ‘bravery’ line.

Tippexy, the wording of that Mirror article is interesting with hindsight - ‘male runner’ who had ‘a close working relationship with Schofe’ and then a quote about them being ‘so close’ and then not speaking any more...

I remember when Barrymore came out in the mid 90’s. It was big tabloid news, but the general public didn’t give a shit. His shows continued to be massively popular and get huge ratings. It probably was a bigger deal then, but most people really didn’t care.
