to think you ask before deciding to share a table with someone?

I'm not very sociable, so I may be wrong, but if there were no tables free and you saw someone sitting on their own at a 4 seater, would you ask them if you could sit there, or just sit down and pointedly ignore them?

I'd have said yes if they asked......

@Honeybee85 🙂

@Honeybee The reason I picked up on your post was not because of you expressing your opinion, but because you seemed so proud of having got a free night in a hotel as compensation for something that was really so trivial, I don't see why you did not just accept the owners apology and move on. He would have been massively out of pocket through no real reason. As for not knowing if I had ever been in a 5 star hotel and making out you were just politely asking- well no, you did sneer when you asked, and then made the Mcdonalds comment as well- that was not you being polite. You can kid yourself all you like that I am the bitter/angry one but I am at least happy to share tables and I would never cause damage to someones business by accepting an undeserved freebie. I think that reflects badly on you, tbh.

@Geschwister4 I agree with you that the original comment about your familiarity with luxury hotels and the mention of McDonalds was snide.

Thank you Ilovesooty

@geschwister4

I think your inability to read my posts properly and your assumptions make you imagine things.
I’m sorry to be so blunt.

First of all, why do you keep saying it was the owner? Did I say that? No! I will say it again: the hotelmanager. An employee who gets paid out of the pockets of a very big hotel chain that - I can assure you - makes a lot of money! Not some poor guy who is barely scraping by being the owner of a small hotel. Stop making me look like someone who is milking out some poor business owner.

Second as I also mentioned in my post, there were other issues as well! We had made a reservation that wasn’t registered for example, the room was awfully hot because the airconditioning was broken. I haven’t even mentioned in my review that I found a half smoked cigar in a bathroom cabinet because I didn’t want the cleaner to get in trouble as I know how little time they are given to clean a room. So there goes another of your assumptions out of the window.

I also don’t understand why you expect politeness if you start attacking someone and why you think you are so much better because you do share tables and don’t write reviews of hotels that are not 100% positive even when they are based on the truth. If the whole world follows your logic, then TripAdvisor can take down it’s
website and we can dismiss individual tables. You are looking entitled and rude now but probably you can’t see that yourself.

I won’t reply to your posts on this thread anymore because you have shown that you’re only interested in attacking me for some unknown reason so I’d suggest you find another poster to project your issues on.

Likewise, Honeybee, Likewise.
