I'm getting a little peed off at the whole you better live by these rules or judgement shall reign upon thee nonsense!

I can't use plastic, I can't have my Christmas tree and its decorations, I can t use wrapping paper, I must be vegan, not least because of the meat ingestion but because all the cows fart and hurt the ozone! Do you know how much vegetation is lost to avocados or the mafia and children being scarred for life by the acid in cashews?!

I can't swear around my kids, I mustn't enjoy meat of any kind, I can't buy new clothes, they must be second hand, must shop local, don't buy out of season, cant enjoy a good laugh at the expense of others! Hello, it's funny when someone falls on their arse or walks into a door! the list goes on!! REALLY??

AIBU to be getting a little peeved with all this?

I am a responsible citizen, I do watch my plastics waste, I do care about the wold. But I also do like meat every now and then, I do enjoy my Christmas decorations and the nostalgia of it all, I do enjoy new clothes sometimes and I do swear around my kids whilst having a G&T or a bottle of wine! (they're 15 &16) but it's not the point!

There's just too much all around.. Everyone and their dog has put 'THEIR' expectations on me!! that they expect me to live by, and if I don't I'm looked down upon, shunned and gossiped about.

My life is hard enough with my own expectations of myself let alone trying to live up the perfection and assumptions of others!

Those of you... the judgy and I mean really judgy self-imposed evangelists of our newfound world to be ARE NOT PERFECT you do know that don't you?

You have kids that run amuck, scream and have tantrums, and you call them diddums and little sweetie.. they're brats and need pulling into line or they'll be big brats living all entitled becoming worse versions of your judgemental selves.

You're so judgemental that you live on a knife-edge as you judge yourself worse than you do anyone else. Your husbands as yes this is mostly aimed at women! are tired and worn out by all these rules!!

They too are imposed or frowned upon for having an opinion no bra to burn or wanting a beer and laugh with their mates. Showing any masculinity at all! As if it wasn't what mother nature made them, god forbid! heavens above! these cave-like beasts, what are they doing being themselves?!

You act slightly human and beat yourself up about it. You're your own worst enemy! You go to yoga twice a week and think your the newfound Dali fricken lama!

Get a hold of your selves. If you want to be vegan and wear second-hand clothes and call your kids Far-qua go ahead no one is stopping you. But please please will you let us not so stuck up, constipated hypochondriacs, come to our own conclusions on how and when we will make the changes necessary for our lives and how we see ourselves within the planet and its future..

We may like the things you don't but doesn't mean we're not kind and loving people with similar values just means we're getting used to the fact that change is upon us and it takes us a little longer to get there.. !

And for your men please!! for gods sake stop crushing their masculinity let them be men, it's who they are and let them make their own way to their own place in this universe without being scowled at and nipped to pieces but your judgements and expectations! Scowling faces and pointy fingers!

You see yourselves as the saviours of our planet, I praise your efforts! I really do but in turn your losing sight of the love for humankind and your brothers and sisters that are right next to you!

Those that need nurturing are teaching - nurture and teach LOVE us and help us along the way by having a kind heart and patience with our ways that are not yet aligned with yours..

The world is changing but we're all in it together not just you.. give us time to reflect and be nostalgic to a life we once knew. We will get there but man give us some space to do it our way not your way.

OK rant over!

I was eating my Greek yogurt this morning and thought fuck this, I want a sausage barm

So many bleedin rules

Precisely who or what was stopping you eating a sausage barm?

MadeleineMaxwell · 06/12/2019 14:01

I don't think DH would know 'masculinity' if it bit him on the arse. I'm curious, does it have something to do with beer?

portobella · 06/12/2019 14:02

I can't tell you how good it feels to finally voice my actual opinion.

I'm not drunk nor judgemental just really enjoying having a platform where I can say what I feel and get some real feedback in all its honesty.

Life is hard and our own heads do enough judging!

I will be changing my friend circle, not to exclude but to make my life feel sane again!

And I found your Roy chubby brown comment quite funny he's hilarious after a bottle or two!! Piss you pants funny at things that shouldn't make you laugh but do!

Why not? life's way too short!

Fucking hell, who upset the Nethuns?

FizzyGreenWater · 06/12/2019 14:06

I can't tell you how good it feels to finally voice my actual opinion.

I can believe it OP, I don't imagine there are many people in real life who would want to be in your toxic company long enough for you to get to rant much. I imagine there's a lot of panicked crossing of the road and hiding behind parked cars when folk see you come into view.

SaskiaRembrandt · 06/12/2019 14:09

That was unusual. It's like the internet equivalent of the woman who stands outside WH Smiths shouting about pigeons.

Keepmewarm · 06/12/2019 14:11

‘Rant over’ is always my favourite bit.

You do you op. Have a nice day.

Yeah, those poor guys, they don't monopolise things in politics, show business, the legal system, the corporation world at all...they must be so crushed by everything being designed to work around women's needs...

And bless them they can never go down the pub or do their time consuming hobby without wimmen moaning about them to look after their own children occasionally.

No one wants to be preached at but FFS we should be aware of the planet and other people's welfare and how are we going to change things without at least having conversations. And people not giving a shiny shit and doing exactly as they please is nothing to be proud of.

Oldishusernewname · 06/12/2019 14:16

Oooh I'm telling it like it is!!!
Oooh I'm so controversial and insightful!!!
Oooh that'll show 'em!!!
Oooh I'm so FRICKEN daring!!!

oatmilk4breakfast · 06/12/2019 14:19

Huh?

Beveren · 06/12/2019 14:20

I can't tell you how good it feels to finally voice my actual opinion.

What was stopping you beforehand?

CraftyCow93 · 06/12/2019 14:22

I'm my very honest open... And I'm nothing but that. You're totally right. Now, our world is full of self-righteous, self absorbed, ignorant assholes who believe it's thier way or the highway. Our species as a whole is one of the worst that exists on this planet, that's only my opinion, one which I am entitled to. We are the only species who thickly lay rules down for others to follow, we follow religions that ultimately are exactly the same in origin just concealed in different stories, we are judgemental and bitchy by nature... Just reading through these comments proves that very fact. We are the only species who have evolved to become what is classed scientifically as 'intelligent beings' when you consider what we do to one another, are we really all that intelligent? Animals fight to survive, to eat, to mate... We fight amongst ourselves for the hell of it because we lack the intelligence to work things out vocally. We're far too set in ways that we can't accept other cultures for what they are. I don't believe in religion. But I'm aware other people do, hence I'm trying to word this sensitively.

By nature people will look down on one another, people will willingly kiss your ass then throw you under the train in the next second when your back is turned, people brandish these ridiculous rules expecting them to be followed. Remember that a rule is a guideline really, it's not literally written in stone.

I live my life by my own guidelines... I will openly admit that I probably drink way too much, I admit that I spend way too much time on my phone, I admit that I'm not the best partner in the world... Nor am I mom of the fucking year... That's okay. I can admit that. Because I try my best. I have 3 girls, ages 6, 1 and 13 weeks old. They're well fed, clean, well dressed, well loved and content kids.

My motto is simply... Fuck the human populations and its expectations, fuck all the judgemental people who are so ignorant they call you drunk. You're obviously not drunk, you're pissed off and in this day and age it's fine to be pissed off... I am too. Fuck the mom who let's her kids run riot but sneer down upon you for doing what you want with YOUR life.

If you want to light up your house like Las Vagas at Christmas, go for it! If you want to buy packaged vegetables, do it. If you want to gorge yourself on meat, do it... No one bat's an eyelid at a lion tearing apart an antelope and would people who are vegan feed thier cats or dogs vegetables? No.

... Your life is exactly that. YOURS. So give the middle finger to society and live it your way!

PBo83 · 06/12/2019 14:24

Fair play OP, even if I didn't agree with you (which I largely do) I can't argue with someone expressing their ACTUAL opinion and not that which they believe puts them in the best moral light.

Might have to get some wine in and watch a bit of Roy this evening now!

PBo83 · 06/12/2019 14:26

@CraftyCow93 (who is clearly a decade younger than me...damn you!)

Brilliantly said!

Tunnocksmallow · 06/12/2019 14:27

Wow who pissed on your chips?

FaFoutis · 06/12/2019 14:29

None of those things are the Fricken rules. You have the Fricken rules all wrong.

powershowerforanhour · 06/12/2019 14:29

Scowling is a great word that isn't used enough. Unlike the action of scowling itself, which women should be banned from doing. Also, no pointy fingers ladies, unless you're holding them out for a bluebird to land on, like that bit in Snow White where she's surrounded by woodland creatures.

Fricken is also quite a good word, though best used in the context of desiring sharks with laser beams attached to to their heads.

nowlook · 06/12/2019 14:33

My motto is simply... Fuck the human populations and its expectations, fuck all the judgemental people who are so ignorant they call you drunk.

As mottos go, that's quite specific. Not quite as catchy as "Carpe Diem", but I like it.

Mulhollandmagoo · 06/12/2019 14:34

YOU ARE NOT BEING UNREASONABLE!!!!!

And thank you for speaking up!! I constantly feel crushed under the weight of everyone's expectations and it's SHIT!

Wafflecopter · 06/12/2019 14:35

I love where you put ‘trying to word this sensitivity’ before saying ‘fuck the human populations’ @craftycow93
I mean why bother saving the feelings of others if we’re all so awful? Grin

I also don’t get the shock or the feeling that people are suddenly selfish, self-righteous arseholes. Some of the worst I know are elderly.

nowlook · 06/12/2019 14:35

@powershowerforanhour

Thank you for reminding us of the appropriately demure Snow White. Given the time of year, I will hold out my pointy finger in the hope of attracting a robin, Julie Andrews-style.

ivykaty44 · 06/12/2019 14:37

Oh fuck I never got the memo about swearing 😳

LellyMcKelly · 06/12/2019 14:44

You sound like you need to get laid.

ivykaty44 · 06/12/2019 14:48

Really 🤣😂 why’s that?
