Not sure how everyone else is doing, but I am just increasingly terrified about the idea that BJ and the likes of Jacob Rees-Morgan, Ian Duncan Smith (god they are just so disgusting Angry) are going to win this election. Got family in Australia and this morning it was raining ash and people literally can't breathe. The Tories are going to do nothing, zero, nada about climate change. And when I look at my kids I just don't know how we are going to survive another five years. and don't get my started about the state of the kid's school - the teachers are doing their best, but the reality is it's a shit show bc of how many cuts they have had. Friends are going canvassing for Labour and me and DH are doing our bit too - but it all just feels surreal - BJ talks shit, tells lies, and has reinvented himself as "new" when the fucker has been IN GOVT for years. Any got any ideas on how we can turn this around?

"I'm not voting for an anti-semite but a racist misogynist homophobe is totally fine."

lovemenorca · 06/12/2019 11:30

I’m shit scared that he won’t win it

Jillyhilly · 06/12/2019 11:32

That is one hell of an interesting sentence. What does it mean, exactly?

lies, propganda, inequality

Weirdly enough that’s how I see Corbyn & co. It’s all such made-up, dangerous nonsense.

Quartz2208 · 06/12/2019 11:32

All options are frightening

JeffreeStar · 06/12/2019 11:34

Oh Yey more hysterical political threads

MrsMaiselsMuff · 06/12/2019 11:37

120,000 people have died as a result of austerity. How can anyone vote Conservative with that knowledge?

CatintheFireplace · 06/12/2019 11:39

Have you heard the latest quote (from this morning) about controling the number of "people of colour" coming to this country?!? Utterly fucking terrifying. YANBU.

Chloemol · 06/12/2019 11:39

So move to Australia then, stop being so hysterical and get a grip. None of the current lot are good, it’s a case of putting up with the best of a bad lot.

@norkins have you actually read the information about Corbyn, and his terrorist friends, not to mention anti Semitic behaviour, Swindon is just as mad with her undemocratic idea of just stopping Brexit, trans are better than everyone malarkey, Nicola Sturgeon has no idea, Scotland are doomed if she gets independence, and BJ needs to get a grip. None of them are any good, but No way do I want JC or Swinson running this country, that scares me the most

Skyejuly · 06/12/2019 11:40

My local tory mp voted against extending sick pay and pip for terminally Ill people so she wont get my vote.

Speckledhen10 · 06/12/2019 11:46

YABU. If Corbyn & his cronies take power there will be mass unemployment, a crash in house prices. The NHS will collapse as no nurses will want to work on skivvy wages whilst their feckless entitled neighbours on benefits will be getting the same income for doing sod all.

Myheadisamess31 · 06/12/2019 11:48

I am 100% more scared of JC getting in.

derxa · 06/12/2019 11:49

Anyone but Corbyn

tillytrotter1 · 06/12/2019 11:50

I'm old enough not want another quasi-communist government if Corbyn wins.

potter5 · 06/12/2019 11:51

Calm down dear! JC will be worse if he gets in. Our NHS will be fine. Be glad you live in the UK because you have to pay thousands if you live in the USA or Australia.

Stop scaring people!

JeffreeStar · 06/12/2019 11:53

Austerity happens with the conservatives because the left let too many people into the country, let too many ppl live of the state etc

The nhs is a mess because of all the ppl who abuse the system.

Davros · 06/12/2019 11:53

YABU and hysterical. People have no resilience today. If you'd lived through ACTUAL political turmoil and not POTENTIAL turmoil you would understand that we can and will survive, it's all cycles. I don't support any of them but will have to pick one to vote for and, whatever the outcome, I will accept it. People need to learn to accept other povs and make the best of the outcome. All this media and social media fuelled claptrap is turning some people very nasty. Remember tolerance, acceptance? I don't mean apathy or complacency instead. Have this grip.

HyacynthBucket · 06/12/2019 11:54

I too am horrified by the idea of BJ winning outright. Not just because of brexit, although that will be a disaster, but because he is absolutely the wrong person to lead the country - he lies, does not bother to make himself informed by facts, blathers any old rubbish, knowing or not caring that most of it is not true (often called out by interviewers like Andrews Marr and Neil on the figures he gives for police, nurses, new hospitals, crime, etc.) He is not a fit person, and is making the country a laughing stock abroad, much as Trump has done for America. Add to that he is a total narcissist who cares about nothing but himself. He lied about social care, saying he had a plan ready to go - there is no plan, and he will do nothing about it if elected. Same goes for homelessness, child poverty, and anything else that is not relevant to his rich friends like Mogg. The tories in government are heartless.

lovemenorca · 06/12/2019 11:56

It worries me that someone who writes this even has the vote

sashh · 06/12/2019 11:56

Well..choices aren't great....but anything beats an anti Semite and his thugs occupying number 10. Having done Auchswitz recently, JC and Momentum just make me feel physically sick

If you are disabled or poor then the last 10 years have been like 1930s Germany. The Nazi's started wiht the disabled, we didn't even make it to the camps. This government have devised policies that actively harm people.

The thing that scares me more about BJ than JC is the people around each of them, BJ's friends think exactly as he does, that government is there to increase your own fortune and kick the 'lesser' humans to the kerb.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 06/12/2019 11:56

@RaymondStopThat I was very surprised by your comment that the SNP are rated worst than all the other parties by Greenpeace, so I looked it up and you’re wrong - they are 4th behind the Greens, Labour and LDs, but the Tories are 6th - and while the Greens have 38 Greenpeace points across their manifesto, Labour 32, the SNP 28, but the Tories only have 15!

MaryLennoxsScowl · 06/12/2019 11:57

Meant to include my source: www.greenpeace.org.uk/news/climate-debate-party-manifestos-climate-change-nature-2/

MaxNormal · 06/12/2019 11:59

YANBU and of this country votes in a lying, venal chickenshit coward racist to bring us further austerity and suffering and trash the country via hard Brexit I will truly despair.

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 12:00

It worries me that someone who writes this even has the vote

Me too! Do they think the Tories magically control the ash in Australia?

MaxNormal · 06/12/2019 12:00

MaryLennoxsScowl sadly we seem to have moved far beyond the realms of truth now.

BlaueLagune · 06/12/2019 12:01

I am pretty nervous about it, yes. I want to stay in the EU, and fialing that the SM and CU, and that seems unlikely.

The only possible silver lining of a fairly generous Tory majority might be that Johnson wouldn't then be tied to his far right wing colleagues and might follow a more moderate line.

However, a lot of the Tory moderates have left the party, so not sure who's left to be moderate.

As for Scotland getting a Tory government imposed on them, so do non-Tory-voting residents of England and Wales. Just because I live in the south of England doesn't make me responsible for the votes of my neighbours. Much of the M3 and M4 corridors voted remain and there is a decent sized Libdem vote, too.

being pro-Palestine as opposed to a Zionist doesn't make you an anti-Semite Yes - people need to understand the difference.
