Not sure how everyone else is doing, but I am just increasingly terrified about the idea that BJ and the likes of Jacob Rees-Morgan, Ian Duncan Smith (god they are just so disgusting Angry) are going to win this election. Got family in Australia and this morning it was raining ash and people literally can't breathe. The Tories are going to do nothing, zero, nada about climate change. And when I look at my kids I just don't know how we are going to survive another five years. and don't get my started about the state of the kid's school - the teachers are doing their best, but the reality is it's a shit show bc of how many cuts they have had. Friends are going canvassing for Labour and me and DH are doing our bit too - but it all just feels surreal - BJ talks shit, tells lies, and has reinvented himself as "new" when the fucker has been IN GOVT for years. Any got any ideas on how we can turn this around?

He's not antisemitic FFS

And BJ is a MASSIVE RACIST AND A LIAR!! AngryAngryAngry

thehorseandhisboy · 06/12/2019 13:43

Tylee I agree. A parliament formed of a group of politicians capable of acting like adults, who give a shit about the people of this country, actually know what's in their manifestos and how it can be costed, have a grasp of how severely the enactment of austerity ideology has affected people whilst inevitably shrinking the economy, who have the basic integrity to participate in the democratic process and have moderating influences all around them would be a fantastic opportunity.

I'd still be relieved, shocked and delighted at Johnson losing his majority.

Shit scared is an exaggeration. I can't stand the guy but I'm not shit scared that he will win.

Teenangels · 06/12/2019 13:50

My point has been well made by labour supporter on the left that they are doing a great dis service to their party by name calling.

ilovetinsel · 06/12/2019 13:51

@GoodyAdultHumanFemale spot on!

thehorseandhisboy · 06/12/2019 13:52

Lots of people are scared though.

People with chronic health problems. People with relatives with chronic health problems. Anyone with children in state education, especially if that child has some sort of SEN. Anyone who needs social care. Anyone who it at risk of homelessness or is homeless. Anyone who relies on, or might in the future needs, benefits and the welfare state.

Pretty much all of us have good reason to be scared, if only from social conscience.

Many people have genuine reason to be utterly, utterly more shit scared than they've ever been about anything in their life.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/12/2019 13:55

120,000 people have died as a result of austerity

fullfact.org/health/austerity-120000-unnecessary-deaths/

Apologies for linking this yet again, but I'm getting tired of seeing this nonsense repeated constantly - presumably in the hope that posting it often enough will convince some it's true

MarshmallowMuggle · 06/12/2019 13:55

Well, I’m shit scared that Corbyn will balls up Brexit, any form of negotiating any sort of deal with any other country, and will raid taxes, pensions, inheritances and everything else he can find to fund his vision of a 1970’s future, pouring it all into a black hole, killing off any form of investment and causing entrepreneurs and high earners to leave the country, and leaving the government after him to make the current austerity measures look like a picnic in the park.

I can’t believe there isn’t a happy medium between BJ and JC, I really really can’t.

MarshaBradyo · 06/12/2019 13:58

Marshmallow yep. Labour could do well in this climate but not Corbyn’s version.

KidLorneRoll · 06/12/2019 13:58

There is plenty of reason to be worried about a tory majority.

Brexit IS going to fuck the economy. This is a fact. With that comes less money for EVERYTHING. The NHS, the police, welfare, everything.

Look at who is currently on the front bench, you will not find a bigger bunch of self-centred right wing arseholes, many of whom are just fucking STUPID. Anyone who thinks Raab and Cleverly have any business cleaning the fucking toilets at westminster, let along given senior positions in government needs their heads examined.

And I do hope anyone who is not voting Corbyn for allegations of anti-antisemitism are not voting for Boris et all. A cursory look at the way Boris feels about women, ethnic minorities, the poor, homosexuals - basically anyone who isn't white, male and from private school should tell you if there is a competition as to who is the biggest bigot, BoJo has it at a fucking canter.

I don't get why people are scared of JC, he is the puppet. The people to be scared of are John McDonnell and his Marxist cronies who are behind him

You're right of course, but the media enjoy creating a "bogeyman" and for most of them Corbyn's it

Which shows again why it's important to read into things much more deeply ...

Ozzie9523 · 06/12/2019 14:00

I'm more terrified of Corbyn.

BMW6 · 06/12/2019 14:04

JC is without doubt a massive antisemitic Marxist and a liar!

ArthurtheCatsHumanSlave · 06/12/2019 14:05

puzzledandpissedoff Don't apologise, I have been linking this and similar for days in all these threads, and still people refuse to look or do their own research into unbiased websites. I despair.

BMW6 · 06/12/2019 14:06

Got family in Australia and this morning it was raining ash and people literally can't breathe.

So all your relatives there have died OP? Hmm

Faffette · 06/12/2019 14:11

I just can't believe there are that many naive, manipulated, mindless people out there. Unbelievable.

John1971 · 06/12/2019 14:13

Not as scared as Johnson is of facing questions.

John1971 · 06/12/2019 14:16

Neil’s ready and waiting Boris. Where are you? Still running scared?

MinesaPinot · 06/12/2019 14:16

Whilst I don't particularly like Boris, I am far more concerned about JC and his militant gang getting in, particularly the idea of John McDonnell getting his mitts anywhere near the economy, and his mates in the RMT getting even more power over the transport system.

Moomin12345 · 06/12/2019 14:16

I quite look forward to his victory as it will finally enable Labour to get an electable leader Grin

leckford · 06/12/2019 14:21

Anyone but Corbyn
