.... then there’s no reason he shouldn’t also be able to self-ID as a Native American, a quadriplegic, a child or even a badger, if that’s how “he” feels in “him”self?

Or am I missing something?

But nobody becomes a woman by magically saying they are one.

And here endeth the lesson!

A transman got his GRC, then 11 days later went to a fertility clinic to be artificially inseminated. Personally I can’t think of a more female thing to do than getting pregnant, then carrying and birthing a child. No male person has or ever can do that, so no, people will not be prosecuted for not living in their new gender.

This transman then went to court to ask for him to be registered as the father on the BC, which would leave the mother space blank. If he gets his way his child won’t have a mother, and we all know that’s impossible, not to mention a complete headfuck for the child.

I’m not sure if there’s been a verdict in that case et but I hope the judge will be sensible enough to not go against biological reality.

Here’s the other thing. There is serious lobbying going on behind the scenes to push through policies which have been deliberately concealed from public and media scrutiny. It’s not very democratic is it?

GoKartMozart, that's a great idea. I'm going to carry on being the woman I am most of the time. From 1 December to 5 January I'm going to identify as a tortoise. Hibernating and thereby missing the Great Midwinter Consumer Festival. Surely that's acceptable nowadays.

To the people who mentioned my post, it’s as if you are completely ignorant of how self-ID works in other legal jurisdictions where it’s been part of the law for a while. I wonder why that is...

Sounds like it's going well in Canada.
J Yaniv is creating lots of publicity.

Iran is also doing brilliantly, especially with all their new women in sport.

This seems remarkably similar to the "Well if gay people get married then what's to stop people from marrying their sibling/dog/anything?"

I’m Wondering here... in Iran so the new women players need authority to travel from a man? I remember hearing an interview with a woman football player whose husband refused to let her renew her passport so she could play in a match abroad because she would miss their kids first day at school and he through that should be her priority. How she didn’t spit in his borani I’ll never know!

Well no, because a marriage is simply a formal partnership contract between two people, while "identifying" as the opposite sex is meaningless as you aren't actually the opposite sex and can never be so.

By the same token it is remarkably similar to identifying as a different race, species, age or as a disabled person. Furthermore, these are all things people actually do.

I am ignorant as to how it works, that's why I asked and why I asked if anyone had ever been sanctioned for false declaration.

I wonder if I could identify as a size 10? Would be a lot easier than starving myself. Just identify and that's you done.

I went swimming a few evenings ago and there was a man who identified as a woman in the women's changing rooms (open plan) just as the 8-12 year old girls were in there coming out of swimming club. I'm not implying he/she was up to anything dodgy but surely a swimming club changing room full of very young girls should be a sacred space for those girls.

Two consenting adults entering into a formal partnership is qualitatively and palpably different to an adult and a dog doing that.

However, I’d argue self-IDing as a woman when you’re biologically a man is no different to identifying as disabled when you’re physically able-bodied, or identifying as a 70 year-old when, chronologically, you’re 30. How is it any different?

Yaniv would catch the ferry and use the ladies loos when the preteen girls were on school trips. Wanting to ask to help with there tampons.

There was something in either America or Canada with an adult male doing the same thing every week when a girls sports team when finishing their activity and coming back to get changed.

Guess who got called bigots for complaining.

Pervs now have free and easy access to women and children due to this self ID bullshit. They don't even have to dress like women. Just say they are one like a magic fucking spell.
