Apparently they are 'ill-raised, ignorant and aggressive' because I am a single parent.

All I can say is I am extremely proud of them for overcoming my apparent short comings as a parent and achieving so much despite it.

OP posts:
SaskiaRembrandt · 29/11/2019 08:52

Don't think BJ was raised by either parent. He was chucked in an abusive boarding school at a young age and look what it's produced!

Quite! Maybe we should start critiquing feckless parents who dump their children into boarding schools to avoid taking responsibility for them, because it's a system that doesn't seem to produce well-rounded individuals.

blubelle7 · 29/11/2019 11:17

On last count has he himself not left 3 women as single mothers to his own children?

Pot meet kettle

SusieOwl4 · 29/11/2019 12:51

How many of you have actually read both articles in full ? And not just the comments in isolation ? Hands up.

TabbyMumz · 29/11/2019 12:57

It was very generic and said in 1995. I'm sure he didnt mean in all instances, ever.

TabbyMumz · 29/11/2019 12:58

I dont think you could call Eton, abusive!?

Nat6999 · 29/11/2019 13:03

He forgets that the working class are the backbone of this country & without them all his rich mates would be skint. He has created single parent families by dipping his dick around when he was married so he obviously had a high opinion of the women he got pregnant.....Not

RuffleCrow · 29/11/2019 13:04

I'm assuming he was raised in a two parent home himself? Says it all. Grin

I don't really care what any of my children choose to do with their lives as long as a)they're happy, healthy and fulfilled and b) they choose to do the exact opposite of what Boris would do at every turn.

AliceInStaines · 29/11/2019 13:06

He wrote it decades ago and he's not personally aiming it at you. I'm no Boris fan that's for sure but really? Just let it go

Beveren · 29/11/2019 13:35

Does anyone seriously believe his views have changed since he wrote this? There's no evidence suggesting that to be the case.

greathat · 29/11/2019 13:42

Love the way the Tory supporters come along and try and tell us that it's labour trying to influence us. They didn't say it! Our Prime Minister did. Yes the only one responsible for the crap he speaks and writes, his opinion won't have changed. He's said worse things more recent, but gets away with it because "it's just Boris." He's an intelligent, racist misogynist

StrangeLookingParasite · 29/11/2019 14:52

I don’t think you have any idea of the damage that this delay on Brexit has done to business , it is severe and I can totally see why some remainers would vote Tory , because they respect the vote and just want it over and done with now.

The damage done by the delay is nothing compared to what the damage will be if/when it goes through.
And the idiot-level sloganeering of 'get brexit done' - good grief, it's the start of an absolute mountain of work, none of which has been prepared for, all of which will take years to finalise.

PortiaCastis · 29/11/2019 14:57

I fact that he wrote the article at all is concerning and as a single Mum I definitely wouldn't vote for that misogynistic turd

Mlou32 · 29/11/2019 15:12

There are a lot of ill raised children out there but they come from all walks of life, not just single mums.

The80sweregreat · 29/11/2019 17:16

All this mud slinging makes people more determined to vote for their Tory candidate.
It is vile the things he wrote, but Jeremy Corbyn is also a bit unsavoury and fraternised with organisations that are dubious in the past.
Other labour leaders have led us into illegal wars. Maybe a few labour MPs secretly think along similar lines : we are all only human and have points of views others might not agree with : they just don't write about it in the press.
unfortunately single parents were made a ' scapegoat' in the past ; it's not right but it happens. Children can go ' off the rails' when they live with the same parents all their lives but that doesn't make good copy I suppose. It's hard bringing up children and does he include kids whose parents may have died? They are single parents too but he is just alluding to a certain 'type' in that article and that's wrong.
He is a hypocrite , but I think dredging up the past doesn't help matters either.
It will ramp up the '
Corbyn is a 'terrorist sympathiser ' chat.
All this tit for tat doesn't help anything. They tried this with Trump and that didn't work either.
I do think that any man that fathers a child should pay for that child but the whole problem with maintenance and fathers ( mostly) getting away with things and paying money is another thread!

nellodee · 29/11/2019 17:27

As he said, he wrote it before he went into politics. Now, being a politician, he manages (when he doesn't get carried away by his own rapier sharp wit) to keep these kinds of opinions to himself. Doesn't mean he doesn't still hold them, or share them in polite and relaxed company, such as on a coke bender with Gove.

ThistleTits · 29/11/2019 17:31

The cunt of cunts. Be furious, I am.

ThistleTits · 29/11/2019 17:33

The80sweregreat.
I'd have to say your opinion of Jeremy Corbyn is very right wing media informed. Do yourself a favour and seek the truth.

nuxe1984 · 29/11/2019 17:38

You are not being unreasonable to be furious.

Likewise if you are working class (he's said comments about them too) …

Likewise if you are gay …

Or a Muslim …

Or BAME ….

Or female ….

If you fit into any of those categories and are planning to vote conservative then I question your sanity because that man only likes people like himself … male, white and privileged …

maureen17 · 29/11/2019 17:39

I assume your are anti conservative and will do what you can to put jezza in control ?

amispeakingenglish · 29/11/2019 17:40

All my four went to uni, one is now dep head of secondary school dept after one year, another has dream job, 2 still looking as only left this year. None do drugs or drink much or get into fights!!!! O and would you believe all free school dinners which is apparently another marker for wasters

amispeakingenglish · 29/11/2019 17:40

And BTW I have two postgrad qualifications myself.

Dolorabelle · 29/11/2019 17:51

And what's the excuse for the jackass who said that? Raised by wolves? Nasty and ignorant

Our (current) Prime Minister. Hopefully for not too much longer.

CallmeBadJanet · 29/11/2019 17:53

5 of his children (that we know about) are being raised by a single mother. I was too and I'm proud. Here's to you single moms 🍹

Shell4429 · 29/11/2019 17:54

I don’t like to use that word but yes, he is one. I will be devastated if he wins the GE.

Scarriff · 29/11/2019 17:54

Shocking the number of Mumsnetters in here who use four letter words to describe Boris Johnso, but claim to be mortally insulted by a generalisation he may have made once. Carry on. Vote Corbyn geniuses!. Your children wont inherit, independent and faith schools will go, top civil servants will be replaced by political appointees, much more, but as long as Boris isnt PM you will be happy.
