Sorry wasn't sure where else to post not quite an AIBU, but I could make it into one I suppose.

Just interested to know on average how much sleep you get every night? How old you are (if you want to disclose) and your sex (again if you want to disclose).

I will start I am a female, 26 and get on average 7.5 hours a night. Is this unreasonable in your opinion?

Female, mid thirties. Nowhere near fucking enough, ever - thanks to two nocturnal toddlers, two cats, and a husband who snores like a farm animal.

Cliffdonville · 28/11/2019 21:19

Female, 38, 7hrs maximum but usually 6. I would like more but I wake up no matter what at 4am and can't go back to sleep.

WWlOOlWW · 28/11/2019 21:23

Usually anywhere between 6 hours on a bad night and 10 hours on a good night. I have more good nights than bad. When I am very tired (usually on a friday) I will cone home from work and have an extra 2 hours sleep.

40+ Female.
Kids are much older.

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 28/11/2019 22:21

53 year old woman and I average about 6 hours.
But it's very broken because of the pain I have with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. I usually wake around 6 or 7 times a night.

JaceLancs · 28/11/2019 22:24

Female 55
4-6 hours
Wish it was more

JaceLancs · 28/11/2019 22:27

lubeybooby · 28/11/2019 22:30

usually a good 7/8 hours

hammeringinmyhead · 28/11/2019 22:34

Female, 35. I used to get about 8.5 hours but I have a 1 year old so it's probably about 6-6.5 now. He's up no later than about 7.20am.

Less than 6 and I get all despondent and weepy.

Treaclepie19 · 28/11/2019 22:34

Female, 29, 6ish.

Treaclepie19 · 28/11/2019 22:35

I could do with a lot more but I have a 4yo who gets up at 5am and I'm a night owl so can't get to bed early.

neversleepagain · 28/11/2019 22:37

Female, 40 and 9-10 hours.

SheChoseDown · 28/11/2019 22:47

31 f. Between 4-6 hours

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 28/11/2019 22:52

Female, 29 years old, between 4 and 7 hours. I have an almost 5 month old who sleeps through the night (10-5) for the most part...

Ouch44 · 28/11/2019 23:22

Female 48 currently getting about 7 hours. Do suffer from insomnia from time to time where I usually wake up at 4 for a couple of hours then fall asleep just before the alarm goes off. Feel so much better at the moment!

I do find that if I read on my phone in the night the waking continues but if I manage to get into a book on my kindle I usually fall back to sleep quicker and stops after a week or so

Josette77 · 28/11/2019 23:27

42, 5-6 hours

PrincessHoneysuckle · 28/11/2019 23:44

Female 39 .Around 7 hours

SaorsaSolasta · 29/11/2019 00:18

Female, early twenties
5-7 hours on weeknights, 7-9 hours at weekends.
Almost always wake up at least once though

stopgap · 29/11/2019 00:45

Female, 42, sleep 6-8 hours, but only with the assistance of Gaba, 5-HTP and a marijuana tincture. Otherwise I might get 4 hours tops.

CherryBathBomb · 29/11/2019 00:49

Around 6 hours (39)

ysmaem · 29/11/2019 00:59

Female 29 5-7 hrs a night, all depending when I fall asleep.

Charlottejade89 · 29/11/2019 01:39

30 year old female, probably around 8 hours, sometimes more. I'm lucky my 16 month old sleeps through, but I work 2-3 night shifts a week and dont get to sleep in the day afterwards, so I guess I make up for it the remaining 4-5 nights

MinervaVause · 29/11/2019 02:37

33 female. 4/5 hours a night. Even my Gabapentin doesn’t help.

avamiah · 29/11/2019 02:44

I’m 46, with a 9 year old and my mum who is 83 lives with us so I would say 5 hours a night if I’m lucky.
