How much sleep do you get?

Sorry wasn't sure where else to post not quite an AIBU, but I could make it into one I suppose.

Just interested to know on average how much sleep you get every night? How old you are (if you want to disclose) and your sex (again if you want to disclose).

I will start I am a female, 26 and get on average 7.5 hours a night. Is this unreasonable in your opinion?

Female, 29 and about 4-5 hours broken sleep. I do have a 7 month old though and a 2.5 year old who has phases if not liking sleep. I live for Nana and Grandad fridays!

I'm 32, female, I currently get about 8hours broken sleep, but that's due to a 3 month old. If I was left to my own devices I would have 10 hours at least every night, but could probably honestly sleep for 12 hours a night every night. I have always loved my sleep!

Female, 34. Around 6-7 hours on a good night.

I used to get more, and feel better on 8 hours. However i had a terrible year last year with 3 miscarriages, and the stress really affected my sleep. This year i was preg again (which always makes me sleep poorly), but preg complications plus baby being hospitalised twice for 2 week periods in first 3 months have made it worse.

I find breastfeeding helps (sends me to sleep) and am hoping to return to better sleep in the new year.

Female, 44. Fitbit says 7 hrs 20 mins per night on average over the last six months. It’s quite broken sleep though - I wake 2-3 times a night.

23 - around 7.5 hours sleep a night, not sure how I manage to cram that in as I’m 39 weeks pregnant with a toddler Grin I refuse to stay up any later than 10.30 so there’s that

Not enough sleep but i have to get on with it.

I have mild sleep apnoea so I've always woken up several times in the night, drink by my bed and then drop straight to sleep again. Have to wear earplugs for any decent quality sleep and have to make sure I go to bed around 8.5-9 hours ahead of when I need to wake up to balance out the wake ups!

About 8.5 hours a night. Female, 39 yrs. I thought that was a lot, but my Garmin says that 52% of people my age/gender sleep MORE than me!

Female, 31, I have a 7 month old who wakes up at least once an hour through the night looking and crying for me so not a whole lot! Honestly would love to know exactly how much sleep I get, all the broken segments added up.

Seriously, about 5-6 broken hours sleep 5 nights a week, with more like 7-8 broken hours at the weekend. Small children who sleep badly, and a busy job that requires lots of work in the evenings is finishing me off!

Female 36 up until 35 years 8-9 hours now I have a baby 1 years old 4-6 hours a night sometimes 8 but very broken sleep miss my solid sleeps but love the bub

5/6 hours on a good day! Got two DS who enjoy using my face as a pillow so it's not the most restful

Depressing to RTFT and see how many other people are struggling on too little sleep. I swear I’d be DANGEROUS if I got 8 unbroken hours a night...

Female 31, chronic history of insomnia, during an episode I’ll be lucky to get 4 hours sleep (these can last weeks-months), when not suffering an episode I’ll get 6 hours max (probably in two ‘shifts’).

33yo female. Single, no kids. Usually 7-8 hours during the week. 9-10 on weekends. I try to be strict with myself during the week, TV off at 9, read before bed with my phone away. Head down by 10, usually asleep within 30 mins or so, maybe an hour. Up at 6:30am in the week.

I am menopausal and without a sleeping pill/nitol am lucky to get 5 hours broken.

My grandma survived a wartime ghetto and had to take a strong sleeping pill every single night of her adult life to sleep as a result. She lived to 95, didn’t do her any harm.

I do believe lack of sleep can cause greater harm to the body than a sleep aid so will always take one when things get bad.

Female, 41. 6.5-7 hours a night. Ideally I'd have 7.5-8 hours.

For some reason my noise app stops being effective for my tinnitus at 5.30am.
