I take DS to swimming. I got the times wrong turned up for the wrong lesson. I decide to go back to the changing room to wait. I find it hard to breath in the pool area, 30 minutes is ok, an hour and I can feel my asthma begin to act up.

There is a dad there getting his daughters dressed (fine) he was in the pool and he's down to his underwear.

Another dad arrives with his son, him and my DS are in the same lesson.

Anyways dad of daughters decides to get dressed... he drops his pants and is stark naked in front of his daughters. He is also by the door so if another parent was coming in their child would have walked into his penis! And it wasn't less than a minute because he was drying himself as well 🤢...

There are cubicles. He could have used a towel as well.

Why would and adult choose to get naked in a dressing room at a swim lesson for children with strangers around.

AIBU to find it bizarre?

His bum was also hairy and unattractive 🤢.

Just like I don't want men in the women's changing rooms, no doubt there are many men who don't want women in theirs. Take your child to the ladies if he's under 8. If he's over 8 then send him into the men's, unless there is a valid reason why he is unable to get changed by himself.

Disappointed the willy was not spotted in the wild but actually in its natural habitat Sad

That's even worse OP in a school!? Someone's surely reported you.

I am Confused at the posters annoyed / offended by people of one sex being naked in the prescribed changing room for their sex.

I can’t get dry / dressed out of the gym shower without a degree of nudity. I chose to wrap a towel round my waist when I put on my bra but that’s not modesty, it’s because I don’t want to inflict my horrible stomach on others.

Many women of all shapes, sizes and ages walk (not ‘strut’ or ‘flaunt’ Hmm) around the changing rooms of the two gyms I use. They even - SHOCK - dry their hair and apply body lotion.

Zero fucks I give.

And OP, YABTU being offended by a naked male in a male changing room.

If it's at a school, it is even worse that you sat there for 30 minutes in the male changing rooms.

I'm surprised you weren't escorted out. For a school, that is a safeguarding problem.

This has to be one of the most hysterical mumsnet posts ever! Woman waits in male changing rooms with two other men and gets offended by a penis!

I'm not sure we should be concerned about the man's children seeing him naked but instead your son having to wonder why you like loitering in the male changing room.

I did explain why I don't go to the females... the changing room is small there are more women and children. It is always crowded

😂😂😂

This thread just keeps on giving.

What part of it being a mens changing room dont you get.

I assumed OP was a man until I read the rest of the thread. A female going to have a sit down in the male changing room is a surprise, seeing a naked man in the male changing room is not.

You’re a female so you go into the females. If your son is under 8 he goes with you. If he’s over 8 he goes in the males and shock horror he might see a penis, what with it being the men’s and all.

I can’t imagine needing a sit down and choosing the men’s to do it in. There’s always going to be naked people in a changing room.

Naked male bum
In men's changing room is absolutely ok.

Maybe he did it for your benefit - as in why would you hang out in there? Wink

Observation - off topic:
I grew up in Europe's where nakedness is completely normal in changing rooms, mixed sauna, etc. my European circle of friends have way less body image problems than my UK friends. Maybe a coincidence? Maybe not.

I remember growing up with my mum being not an overly 'always naked' person but also never trying to hide in pool / sauna situations, she also used to be topless all the time in Italy on holiday - I am very grateful for having had a role model so happy with her body I simply grew up to feel the same about mine.

YABU very much so.
You saw a naked man in the MENS changing room, getting changed.
Where was he supposed to go to supervise his daughters ?

FFS I dread to think what your reaction would have been if HE'D been the WOMENS changing room.

You have no right to be in the mens changing room at all, if is widely accepted that parents take their children of either sex into their changing rooms to ensure they are supervised and shielded from weirdos who just want to sit in the wrong changing room and stare at folk.

Asshat.

CheshireDing · 26/11/2019 23:43

I can’t believe this!

Surely nobody thinks it’s ok to go into the changing room of the opposite sex (and then sit there like some absolute weirdo)

So you would be fine for a man to be sat in the female changing room whilst you got changed OP?

YANBU. Ewwwww. 🤢

No need to be naked at ALL.

Attention seeking at best. Weird and creepy at worst.

He's 2...

I didn't know you went with the parents sex. I thought you went to the room that corresponds with the sex of the child.

Learn something new everyday. I thought this was the equivalent to taking a male child to use a male restroom.

Since going I've always used the men's as we are always in and out and there is only ever one other parent and his son.

😂😂😂 why the fuck would a 2 year old need to use men’s toilets and men’s changing rooms?? Did you not wonder why there’s never any dads in the ladies? Hilarious!

"a male child to use a male restroom."

Please tell me you don't take your two year old to the mens toilets?

Past all the urinals?

The child accompanies the parent to the parent's toilet until they are old enough to go themselves!

Are you for real?!
