Because if I read another 'doing his hobby' I will scream.

IT'S NOT OUTING. THE VAST MAJORITY OF MALE PARTNERS ON HERE CYCLE, GOLF OR PLAY RUGBY/FOOTBALL.

I'll start. I don't have a hobby as I'm a lone parent with a FT job but I spend any leisure time reading. BF plays golf and take part in several orchestras.

Husband - trying to keep fit, buying and selling bike bits on eBay (he likes to present he just sells but I'm not daft)
Me - nowt. Does watching Judge Judy count?
Son - athletics, street dance, eating, sleeping.

Mypathtriedtokillme · 24/11/2019 20:47

Dh: PC gaming and basketball (watching and plays 2 nights a week)

Me: Sewing, gardening, running and procrastinating about folding cause I hate it.

dingit · 24/11/2019 20:48

I belong to the WI, and to the lady that does beekeeping, we had a speaker about it and it was fascinating.
Where are fellow artists on here?
Animal artist here, acrylic and coloured pencils

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 24/11/2019 20:57

@Gallivespian I'm terrible at knowing anything about wallpaintings, but don't get DP started on the subject. He's probably still talking about them right now from the last time I asked... Wink I just love old churches and historic graffiti especially so.

FlatheadScrewdriver · 24/11/2019 21:02

Me: Lino printing, embroidery, running.
DD: devising endless quizzes to torture me with.

Nothing to see here folks.

Time40 · 24/11/2019 21:06

Pillbox (WWII defences) hunting. So basically traipsing through muddy fields with a ordnance survey map he can't read to look at a concrete box. Only problem is he makes me go with him. Lol

Ooooh, that sounds really interesting, actually. I'd like that one.

procrastinating about folding cause I hate it

Is that a typo, or just a mysterious household chore? Folding large amounts of washing?

I've got so many things I do now and again, but I don't think I do any of them often enough to count as actual hobbies (and I agree, I hate the word 'hobby'. It sounds so twee.)

Lactarius · 24/11/2019 21:07

Me - knife and blacksmithing, gaming , wood turning
Partner - knitting & gaming

Hushabyelullaby · 24/11/2019 21:09

Him - taking his Mini on drives all over the country with others who take their Minis, and going to Mini shows and events

Pintsizedblondie197 · 24/11/2019 21:12

Board games! We've turned the front room of our house into a games room with a bar! 😁

KamikazeIdiot · 24/11/2019 21:19

Strangling animals, golf and masturbating.

damnthatanxiety · 24/11/2019 21:33

I think hobbies are great. It's when they take up more of your spare time than you have for your partner that I question things. Going fishing, overnight, every weekend for example. I mean what is that all about? Weird relationship I feel if you or your dp wants to be away more than with together.

Judemahmoodid · 24/11/2019 21:36

Cycling and golf.

My hobby is tennis.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 24/11/2019 21:40

I do diamond painting, knitting, reading and watching telly. DH used to have a football season ticket. Entirely forgettable hobbies.

AdoptedBumpkin · 24/11/2019 21:41

We have done wild camping a few times. Not that uncommon I know.

catgirl1976 · 24/11/2019 21:47

DH does Warhmer so it’s possible I’d use “doing his hobby” to avoid the shame

My hobby is dreaming of having the free time to have a hobby

ilovepixie · 24/11/2019 21:49

My hobby is eating. I spend a lot of time doing it and I'm very good at it 😂😂

MidnightCircus · 24/11/2019 21:53

etihad I don't know why, but my first thought on failed beekeeping was they turned into wasps...

In terms of hobbies; pc gaming, reading and crafts for about 5 minutes, until I lose interest/shove it into the cupboard and throw it out 6 months later. I need mire interesting hobbies I think, sounds so dull Confused

LostStars39 · 24/11/2019 21:58

Me: pole dancing
DP: gaming (which I’d say is more an addiction than a hobby but that’s another thread 😅)

NorthernPowermouse · 24/11/2019 22:05

Dp - watching sport. Pretty much any sport.

Me - tennis (when I have the time, which has been rare of late), reading, cooking.

Ihatesundays · 24/11/2019 22:07

I sew.

Honestly DHs hobbies (there are a few) are all so random and unique (no - not cycling and not sports).
One of them is keeping bloody fish, I’ll admit to that one...

caruti33 · 24/11/2019 22:10

I run and sing in a choir once a week, and he plays cricket once a week. I think its so important that we have time by ourselves. We encourage each other to go out for a drink.

BangingOn · 24/11/2019 22:18

I love that there’s other MN pole dancers Grin

Rosepetals30 · 24/11/2019 22:21

@BangingOn me too , more popping up on here than expected these days!

PenguinsOnParade · 24/11/2019 22:27

I was (pleasantly) surprised to see so many too. It's one thing I don't always mention because I felt it was a bit more niche than other fitness classes but won't worry about that as much now seeing how many others have posted so far.

UnderCaffeinated · 24/11/2019 22:30

My DH's hobby is ice hockey. it's a rough, the kit smells beyond anything I can describe and he loves it.
