Because if I read another 'doing his hobby' I will scream.

IT'S NOT OUTING. THE VAST MAJORITY OF MALE PARTNERS ON HERE CYCLE, GOLF OR PLAY RUGBY/FOOTBALL.

I'll start. I don't have a hobby as I'm a lone parent with a FT job but I spend any leisure time reading. BF plays golf and take part in several orchestras.

Husband making his own craft beer and is heavily involved in the homebrew society. Does my nut in.

The house is full of beers for various competitions Hmm

WiddlinDiddlin · 24/11/2019 19:37

Felting, model making (him, planes, cars etc, me OOAK sculptures), knitting, cycling, dogs... none of these things are overly outing or novel!

Someaddedsugar · 24/11/2019 19:40

Him - football, running and pub crawls

Me - horse riding, reading and cooking

Very dull when written down! Maybe that’s why people say their hobby is outing, to avoid others thinking it’s a very unexciting hobby...

MittensForKittens123 · 24/11/2019 19:41

Loving reading all of the interesting hobbies! My hobby is playing rugby, his is horology. That feels fairly outing!

My husband: guitar, cycling, sailing, looking at bikes, guitars and boats, talking about bikes, guitars and boats, practising guitar, obsessing over wind speed, obsessing over strava, cleaning bikes, fixing bikes, buying expensive bikes.

Me:running. Except I can't run as I'm broken so now I do fuck all and sulk about it a lot!

andannabegins · 24/11/2019 19:49

@Windygate they are all levels of disability. The invictus games are for all ex military no matter what injury. They could have mental health issues and still be placed in the team. In the wheelchair rugby they can have a number of points on the 'pitch' at any one time and able bodies have more points so it is not in their best interest to have too many on the pitch, then there is people with upper body weakness, limbs missing etc. All players are strapped into the chairs so there is no benefit to having working legs. They may have 2 legs but use a stick etc. The invictus ethos is that everyone gets a chance so just because you can't see their disability it is very much still there. There are therapy dogs always around watching their owners compete and helping them to cope. Invictus is a great healing tool for all ailments mental and physical. I just find all the paraphanalia galling!!

DustyMaiden · 24/11/2019 20:43

Me acrylic pouring and DH swearing at the tv and eating.

TooManyPaws · 24/11/2019 20:44

I'm single - knitting, crochet, sewing, patchwork, embroidery, cross-stitch, anything textile. Also playing games on my mobile.

I used to rifle shoot and be a reservist, as well as cub scouts and cadets. Now I can't be arsed and am too old for one.
